Mr9 Impossible, Help please

Question

Hi fellow tennos,

I am getting crazy with MR9 rank up. I done practice for days, now I attempted again 4th time and failed. Watched countless youtube videos and it seems stuff getting changed all the time so most of them out of date enemies have craaaaaaazy detection range. I can do the first and second part my eyes closed, making a tea or eating in the meantime. I understand every enemy even given them names now at the third part. I just cannot do it. I tried different tactics, killing from the left, from the right, using umbra sword wich makes me invisible, everything. As soon as I land at the third section (of course I wait for them to come up close turn their backs and that is when I jump) and make my way to kill the first one....detected. If I am getting lucky and kill the first one, tactically waiting, nobody watches, running towards the second one....detected. Once I managed to kill them all except the two at the far end with invisibility from umbra sword (just went for one after the other) but invis run out I ran to the start hiding at the very first tile ------- and guess what...they detected me from across the room like from 1000 miles. FAIL.

Help please I cannot access weapons if I cannot advance in MR.

I am running out of ideas now what to do.

i would suggest getting an ash or loki frame. ivara too. those frames have natural stealth abilites which makes it impossible to detect. that's how i beat the mr 9 test

As far as I know you cannot use warframe abilities unless it is passive. Are those abilities passives?

I found the "enemies don't look up" advice utterly useless, but this could be due to me misunderstanding it. It might mean to bullet jump into the air, as I've seen some videos where that works to avoid enemy detection, whereas I would jump on the pillars and get detected immediately.

Abilities are locked, so you're out of luck there. I did the same method as is shown in this video -

Get your enemy detector aura if you have it just to be sure, keep calm, and best of luck!

Use Redeemer. It's accurate enough at long range to kill these lvl1 patrols.  Don't try Sarpa, it's very inaccurate for this test.

Shoot them as fast as possible and don't miss. You are given a narrow window to shoot them before they turn in your direction.  Start from closest enemy to farthest. For the last part, hide first then shoot from behind a pillar, letting the gunblade's hitscan kill each enemy without exposing yourself to the others.

oh, another tactic I just tried for the last island part.  When you jump on it, the enemies appear in front of you, right?  Well quickly JUMP BACK to the 2nd island from which you came and hide behind a corner. You are much farther away and they'll have a harder time detecting you. And Redeemer remains accurate enough.

Some of them are on raised platforms, so they might be able to spot you. Go for them first.

Wisp, if you can get her (which to my knowledge, should be pretty achievable at MR8) makes the test a breeze though since her invisibility is passive. Double up with Skiajati to straight-up play with the enemies.

For MR9 it is a matter of standing back and watching the patterns  Watch long enough and you will see spots where you can kill 1 guard which will open gaps where you can kill another.  I did it with Excal and Broken War.

Then again you can also cheese it with Banshee and Redeemer.  Banshee makes the shot from the Redeemer silent so you can just pick them off from a safe distance.

Edit:  Oh and if you think the MR9 test is fun wait until 19.  Another stealth melee only but now you have to collect keys and escort a rescue back to the starting point.  I finally gave up and cheesed it with the Banshee/Redeemer combo.

Just made a fresh recording of the test using Redeemer.

Thank you very much, seems easy enough. I crafting all the parts for Redeemer ( dual skana and vasto) and tonight will start the craft. Tomorrow I will have it and I can give it a go. Got Banshee in the works too from the Dojo. If the combination of those two won't work I will try to get the Wisp.

19 maybe more difficult but now my main problem is that I am locked out of weapons (like the sentient killer is rank 10 which is most likely will be needed in the upcoming story) so I need to get at least to 10 - 12 so I can have all weapons unlocked. Thanks MystMan for recording these, you guys being truly helpful and this is an amazing community.

Damn, maybe I won't go that high then. There won't be that much at stake at that level I guess. I  think I will only do that for the sake of the MR, nothing else as everything will be unlocked. If I fail I just try another day, it won't limit my progression.

I wanted to get Wisp anyway, I looked it up it seems pretty good for invisibility. 🙂

Years ago I got stuck on MR 7 test for MONTHS. It was different then and involved wall running,  And back then you couldn't practice tests. It got to the point where my frustration was worse than the test.  I finally got it. And it was a glorious day.  Hang in there, you aren't alone.

I had problems with this rank for a long time. In the end I managed to complete stage 3 by help of using a Kestrel.

Tips:

  • Get the Whirlwind mod for the Kestrel to make sure you can hit enemies from really far away.
  • Mod your Warframe to get enough Channel efficiency to feel comfortable you wont run out. Channeling will be necessary as mobs will "detect" you if they see a corpse.
  • Jump down on the third sections floor, then jump straight back up again to the second section. Move to the second sections far sides. You can sit at the edge of those and they will never detect you from there. Remember to crouch or the movement of flinging the Kestrel will make you drop off the map.
  • Now the patience game begin. The guards patterns are there for you to figure out. The guard that walks up and down the middle sometimes changes his "front" turn, so keep that in mind.
  • I normally take out "front left" first, followed by "front right", middle, rear right or the one at the top, and then I jump down and finnish the one at the of the bottom left.
  • I wait patiently - section 3 takes me a good 6 minutes, but I never fail this section since I deployed this method. Just remember - assume guards that are facing the same direction see each other, so always make sure your kill is when nobody is looking.

Good Hunting, Tenno

Yeah this is the issue, I am following the same pattern, front left front right front middle. 18 times out of 20 I get detected anyway while I am doing these three. I am also doing the same way as I seen on Youtube (wait for them to turn away) but still somebody always sees me.

Any glaive/gunblade will make this test easier.  Banshee will silence all gunblades if you feel uncomfortable using it.   Ivara has a natural enemy radar that you can boost with mods (since enemy radar is highly recommended for this test).

The Rakta Dark Dagger can also work.  It's only disadvantage is it's close range.
