"I have a better idea actually. Vanda's much stealthier than the Deliverance. I'll deploy and scout ahead." said Zero, getting up from his seat. "Hide the Deliverance behind some debris for now, I'll be your eyes until it's time to start the attack."

Heading to the Deliverance's airlock, he activated his Vanda Stamen suit's thruster systems and prepared to climb out and dock with the Vanda archwing.

"Hold the ship at a steady speed Garmr-1, I'll maneuver myself into my Archwing." said Zero over the comms when the airlock had finished cycling all the air out.

Lucas nodded in acknowledgement, keeping the deliverance's vector stable as the Vanada departed. As soon as the cameras showed that the vessel was clear, he retracted the docking clamp and began making his way towards one of the "blackspots" indicated on the hud - courtesy of the navigational data fed by the children of the flower earlier on.

'Much stealtier, my ass. Bet I'll stay hidden for a while longer than he is. Gotta get moving though, that ship isn't going to stick around forever...'

Donovan Tor - Alpha Team

The Arca Sylo, a crude and experimental attempt at bringing the same mixture of Sentient and Corpus tech used within the Raknoid's or the Orb Vallis into space; sadly for the Corpus through, the ship containing both it's prototype and blueprints fell long ago to Donovan's merry band of Pirates, and all attempt at getting it back had backfired.

The ship itself was nothing more than a modified Gox spacecraft, two large proxy arms hanging underneath the ship itself in place of the ship's standard weapons as they held a large plasma machine gun while on the top side of the ship's blocky frame an old laser cannon was present, a red and blue raknoid head also hanged from the ship's front hull, but for now being nothing more than a decorative piece as it's electronics and function had yet to be figured out by the pirates.

Inside of the strange ship, Donovan sat quietly within the small cockpit, the echoes of Shawsin music playing in the background, all this time the prince held his comms microphone silent, simply listening to the other two members of his team as they approached the gargantuan ship.

"Tor to Alpha, the Arca Sylo mobile weapon platform is operational and ready to join the operation, approaching the area now "

A white flash, similar to the one made by the Deliverance, and suddenly the Prince's strange vessel would be following the larger ship at a safe distance while inside Donovan kept looking at it's radar, knowing all too well that such a prize would be found only behind an equal or greater challenge.

Opening up squad comms, he made an effort to get in touch with the rest of the team and see what their opinions were on the situation.

"This is Edwards, or Garmr-1. Anyone else on Alpha team, what's your status? Any idea about what to do next?"

[Volt-Edge - Beta Team]

Volt is excited to hear his fellow teammate's voice.  "Finally!" he thought to himself.  "To work with a team again..."

He took a look at the optional entrances.  He loved the thought of going in with a big KABOOM, but he knew they needed the ship intact.  As much as he hated it, he wondered if they'd be better off going through the airlocks.  But then again, they DID need to act as a distraction, so...

"Eh, I dunno.  I kinda like the thought of breaching the hull, considering the fact that it'll most likely be a better distraction for Gamma and Delta to do their dirty work.  Not to mention the fact that it'll even more likely get the Commander's attention than going through the airlocks."  *His matter-of-factual tone changes to excitement*  "And need I even mention how badass it'll be when we make our entrance with a BANG?"

He paused for a moment.

"Then again, they did want us to keep it as intact as possible.  I kinda think we should still go all out with the distraction...  I dunno, whaddya guys think?"

{Naradin Beta team}

After hopping into Marie’s liset and finding his seat, he pondered in the group’s course of action. If they were to go out on a full assault, they risk damaging the ship heavily. On the other hand, if they were silent about the assassination, there would be a chance that no one will notice, which would be very problematic.

He tapped the side of his helmet, turning on the comms. A small audio bar came to light in his helm’s HUD. A slight noise came into his ears, signifying the activation of the comms.

Silently, he heard both Marie’s and Volt-Edge’s voice.  He listened to Volt-Edge’s opinion on the matter of which route to choose. Then, with a steely, calm voice.

”Well, I suggest we take the sneaky route. We don’t want to break the ship. Naturally, we don’t want unnecessary attention,” voiced Naradin, “I believe we all want to come out alive. Just rushing in, spraying the lot with bullets won’t work. We have to be careful. Just one good shot can kill any of us.”

Morgan - Beta Team

Admittedly, Morgan found the rather talkative Ash a bit...weird but she decided to pay no major mind to him outside of combat, unless he tried to go after her personally, she had no reason to worry.

In the meantime, she focused on the important parts, one, the Nyx had gave their request to await Gamma and Delta's infiltration before they made their way to sabotage and assassinate the Captain and two, plan their attack. She listened to Naradin and Volt and found Volt's plan to be a tad...weird. "I recommend we focus on stealth until we're spotted, explosive action will just make things difficult on our end."

Volt-Edge had to agree with Morgan.  Despite his zany side wanting action and explosions, his dark and serious side knew she was right, and won over.  Though semi-disappointed, he knew if they were ever detected, which he knew they wouldn't, "unless our 'teammates' muck this up to high heaven" thought his darker persona, then they could go out with a bang.  Until then, stealth was the key.

He also noted the Grineer Dreadnought moving away from their course (no thanks to the annoying sensation in his mind, courtesy of their Nyx leader), which made him a little less than comfortable.

"Great idea," he said over the comms.  "Sooooo... when do we start?  'Cause it's lookin' like we don't have long," he said with a tone that seemed like a cross between annoyance and anxiety.

[Marie - Beta Team]

Marie tilted her head. She felt that something was wrong. "Before we proceed, I must ask - was our objective not to cause havoc in order to draw our target out and draw attention away from the other teams? That is what I recall was told to us." Marie over Comms. She was curious - had the other members of the team not listened to the explanation given by the Children of the Flower, which detailed the Beta Team's goal?

Quote

"The next group to enter position is Beta Squad. Their target is the man displayed on the screen. Rak Ski'talla, the handsome gentleman with the refined weapon is the commanding officer of the ship, boasting near-impenetrable armor plating that would have rendered him immobile, but not him. Instead, his response was to simply... replace more parts of his body with highly sophisticated artifical muscle and organs won through bloody ritual combat, or execution of near-suicidal missions within enemy territory. This, however, is not the true purpose of your deployment. That reason is twofold. Your entry, hunt, and subsequent assassination needs to be loud, and noticeable, in order to draw attention from groups Gamma and Delta as much as possible. Your entry point will be what we assume to be the most populated docking point, in order to create an immediate reaction and encourage Ski'talla to rise to the challenge."

"I do not believe that stealth will achieve our objective."

"OK, OK!  WE GET IT!  Geez, can't even enforce a little common sense into this godforsaken team, can w-"

"COMMON SENSE?!  The whole mucking point was to cause a distraction!  What, you guys deaf?"

"Ok, ok," Volt thougth to himself.  "Let's just calm down... no need to start something that doesn't need starting."

"'Kay, we apparently forgot all about that minor detail, so with that said, what say we... breach the hull?" he says mischievously over the comms.

“Very well, let’s us proceed with the assault,” Naradin stated. He did not find the plan completely agreeable, but he was willing to follow along. If creating a huge distraction was the mission, then that was mission.

admittedly, he was a bit concerned for his personal safety. The Tenno were practically immortal. They did not need to fear the enemy. However, one well placed (or accidental) shot could instantly kill him.

”Well, let’s get this over with,” reluctantly said Naradin, “Shall we?”

"Something tells me that whatever's meant to be there on my HUD is either cloaked or it's moved. Doesn't seem to be the latter." said Zero over comms as he used the Penumbra module and coasted towards the location but staying at standoff-range. "I'll rattle the hive a little. Alpha, get ready to evade."

Lifting the oversized Velocitus railgun into position, Zero took aim at the point on his HUD and fired a singular shot right smack dab in the middle at whatever was supposed to be there.

"This is Edwards, or Garmr-1. Anyone else on Alpha team, what's your status? Any idea about what to do next?"

"The Sylo is ready, except for a certain feeling that i can't explain, like a deja-vu of sorts".

The Sylo would silently move behind the Deliverance, small directional thrusters opening and closing costantly from it's arms as they adjusted his movements, but then, out of nowhere, Zero's transmission would come in before a plan could be formulated...

... And then the Vanda fired toward one of the Blackspots.

Closing comms for the time being, Donovan would start panicking, moving from one side of the cockpit to the other, changing various values within the radar parameters, attempting to make some sort of sense into what Zero just did.

"And here i thought no one could bring some spectacle except me, the mad bastard actually did it, and now well... Now it's time for the harvest".

Once again reopening comms, the servo's of the Arca Sylo would be brought to life as the two arms held the large plasma rifle like some sort of chaingun, the simulated sound of it's thrusters running through his helmet as the ship moved.

"Engaging combat position, time to up the ante gentlemen, this will be a long trip".

All

It happens in slow motion. One second, a great flash of light, illuminating the inky blackness of the sky with a blast of yellow-orange light, the next, the light had expanded. It had expanded several, several times, into a fissure in space, golden-yellow in color and bright enough that looking at it head-on was enough to hurt the eyes. Soon, another joins it, and then another six, bathing the ship in their all-encompassing glory. Four fissures formed a ring around the center of the Half-Light, with two side-by-side on both the front and back, each bleeding void radiation in a manner that would instantly ping every sensor in the area. Perhaps this was why it was travelling such a remote path to its destination.

However, the light show wasn't quite done yet. Out of every fissure exits a single ship, painted in dirty shades of green and brown, reminiscent of other Grineer vessels, but much smaller, each ship only somewhat larger than the average Liset, with weaponry of some kind mounted on the front. The whole event lasted perhaps a few seconds, before splitting along an invisible seam through the middle of the Half-Light, each ship peeling away from what it had seemingly been escorting to turn on the ships currently in the area, firing a rapid stream of projectiles at the ones currently airborne.

Alpha

As the Lanterns begin peeling from the Half-Light, Alpha Squad would feel a sharp tug, as opposed to the usually gentle connection, before an urgent voice invades their minds, barely trying to hide the stress in his voice.

"Alpha Squad, your mission parameters have been set. Judging by the rapid movement of the deadzones, I'm assuming that the time has come for you to fulfil said parameters. Keep me updated on the situation outside of the ship as best you can. Good luck."

Beta

While on the outside, a number of ships were firing on Beta Squad, something within their minds is pried open, rather than eased, the voice of the cell's leader streaming in like a torrent of cold water, sending shudders down their spines.

"Beta Squad, the Lanterns have come live. We need to initiate the infil now. Gamma and Delta groups will be entering immediately. Begin the distraction, lest we lose what remains of our window. I will leave the mental link open for communication as necessary. Keep me apprised of your efforts. Good luck, and happy hunting."

"Damn it, I missed. Still, we have the element of surprise, Garmr-1, I'm diving in." said Zero, wirelessly activating the Vanda Archwing's high mobility mode as the Lantern's AA fire began to saturate the battlespace. "All thrusters ready, TRANS-AM!"

With all thrusters fired up, Zero pushed his forward acceleration to 10 g and sped into the storm of flak, dodging the incoming explosive projectiles with the same amount of accelerative force in every direction and scant inches to spare to prevent himself from being rocked by the proximity-fuzed explosions.

Charging another one of his Velocitus shots, he continued to dodge while sending out a swarm of Seeking Fire missiles from the missile launchers and his Fighter Escort drones, targeting the guns of the nearest Lantern. With the amount of AA fire that the Lanterns are putting out, he wasn't expecting the missiles to hit nor his Fighter Escort drones to do much other than to keep the heat off of himself while his Velocitus does the most damage to the Lantern.

Morgan wasn't sure how she ended up in this scenario.

One minute, she was discussing the plan, the next she was on her Archwing and firing her Phaedra at the guns of the Half-Life's cruisers and dodged and weaved the cannon fire of the Grineer ship as best as she could whilst she tried to block out Volt Edge's insane remarks. "Focus fire on the ships!" she yelled out over the comms, her gold edge allowing her to be a prime target to the Grineer.

Though she hoped that Gamma and Delta Teams would be quick, she wasn't sure how long they could keep the distraction up.

[Lucas Edwards - Alpha squad]

Lucas was about halfway through mentally throttling Zero for firing his weapons without even having a damn target solution, when he noticed something strange with the indicated blackspots on his scanner.

They were moving. Mostly towards both Alpha and delta squad as they approached the dreadnought.

In short order, the sharp jarring of the mental communication was felt, confirming his suspisions that yes, the deadzones were in fact moving away from the vessel.

"Must be the welcoming party then...bet we would've had more time if that twat ahead of me didn't shoot off too soon...Better get a bead on what the hell these things actually are"

Choosing to loose his stealthy approach, since it was pretty damn clear they'd already blown their cover, Lucas began to send out several high-intensity scans to determine what they were facing, and how many of them in the process. All the while, he punched the throttle, begining a wide circle to allow himself to keep some distance while staying within scanner range.

"Celeste, set autocannons to point-defence, and arm torpedoes. I don't want to be caught with my pants down while figuring out exactly what we're facing out here"

Celeste acknowledged, and went to work. Meanwhile, Lucas opened up comms with the rest of Alpha team, relaying his intentions and keeping them updated on the situation.

"Alpha team, this is Garmr-1. I'm scanning the area to see just what we're facing here. Standby for updates, and get ready for a sh!tshow, people..."

Utilising her Archwing, Marie headed directly towards the Grineer ship, prioritising getting there while avoiding the Lanterns instead of engaging them. "There is an airlock into the ship which is nearby - I will be entering via that way. We were ordered to keep major damage to the ship at a minimum so I believe it is better than damaging the hull to get in. Once you all have a chance, please try to follow me in. I would prefer that this does not become a solo mission for me." Marie said over Comms to the rest of Beta Team. Charging her Archwing engines to the max, Marie blasted off directly towards the closest airlock, going inside. Once she entered the ship, she disengaged her Archwing, which returned to her Liset alongside her Archwing weapons. Landing inside the ship, Marie pulled out her Fang blades, before glancing back towards the airlock which was now behind her - hoping that her teammates would follow.

Out in the inky black, engines flared into life. They'd been shut down while the ship silently observed and waited in ambush, relying solely on passive sensors. Even then, it waited at the edge of their range. 200m long ships don't tend to be the sneakiest.

But now someone else was getting involved. A task force in fact, who had poked a hornet's nest.

Even more interesting.

Ah well, no time like the present. She'd been considering going in anyway. Now she had an excuse.

The Ghost Lance roused herself from her dormant state, coming fully awake as she accelerated, weapon hardpoints deploying for their recessed housings. Plasma cannons on the spine warmed up, nacelle mounted beam lasers turrets automatically calibrated their firing lenses. Under the nose, energy surged through a massive railgun, the powerful electromagnets buzzing to life. Just behind them, a pair of missile pods dropped into position, ready unleash hellfire.

In the ships bridge, all weapons reported back as ready. At the controls, a Zephyr Prime sat, HUD synced to the ship's, joystick in one hand and throttle in the other. She felt the familiar thrill running through her body, scared and mutilated as it was buy the virus. The symbiote Tenno could never get used to the feeling of having so much power at her finger tips.

"Target lock acquired," the ships Cephalon spoke up, marking one of the vessels that even now swung around to engage the Tenno task force. "Railgun fully charged."

Kassandra Remaki, the Falcon of Sedna, grinned savagely. "Let's introduce ourselves shall we?" She said, and squeezed the trigger.

The Ghost Lance's main gun spoke it's fury, sending a metallic slug lancing through the void.

Volt-Edge lands right beside her as he deactivates his archwing and archgun.  *Rubs hands together excitedly*  "Now, how about some slicing and dicing, eh?" he says as he whips out his Twin Krohkur.

"Gotcha covered!" he says as he shoots at some incoming lanterns.  "Let's try to make this quick!  I see the entrance target up ahead!"

As he prepares to leave, he notices something very inconvenient. The Tenno left without him. Out of all the missions this could have happened on, it was this one. The very first mission.

"Well, $#@!," muttered Naradin. Quickly, he got on the comms. Hopefully, the comms would be able to reach the rest of his team. He touched a button on his helm.

"Uh, sorry for the inconvenience, but Marie, can I borrow your ship to get in? Im afraid I do not have an archwing," asked Naradin, embarrassed. He was ashamed of being so unprepared. This was his only chance of making a good first impression, and he mucked it up.

Volt couldn't help but laugh.  "Hold on, buddy," he chuckles over the comms.  "I'm on my way!"

*He turns to Marie*  "Go on ahead, I'll catch up," he says as he summons his Archwing again.

A second ago, a singular shot flew through space toward the large Dreadnought, then, a flash of golden light, fissures ripping open through the empty space around the Half Light and at last, chaos.

"...Holy void, grinner are once again toying with the empire's tech."

The sack of wallmeat flinched at the sheer size of the fissures, ship radars basically blinded by the sheer amount of radiation that emanated out of them, he attempted to recalibrate them in the small timeframe he had, only barely managing to get less than half back to being fully operational before a spray of AA fire moved toward the Arca Sylo.

From the outside, the ship's directional thrusters suddenly springed to life, attempting a quick birst of speed upward as the projectiles would start exploding beneath it.

"Tor to Garmr-1, currently engaging the enemy, ill try to keep them at bay while waiting for your responce, stay safe"

As he spoke through comms, both the ship's plasma gun and laser cannon lit up with a bright, golden color, five green dots on the central screen of the cockpit signalling that the weapons were finally online.

At this point, the box ship Donovan flew would attempt to keep itself moving, evading the stream of bullets from the Lanterns as it's plasma gun's barrel completely lit with a bright, golden color before a continous stream of plasma bolts would move and fill the space between the Sylo and the lantern.

It didn't take long for Morgan to follow Marie as she fired a blast of rockets towards a few enemy fighters as well as a repelling pulse to knock out a few of the ships that were close to her then she went for the airlock, disengaging her Archwing as soon as she got within 100 metres of the ship and straight into the airlock.

"Be quick Volt! We've got work to do!" she ordered as she spun in and landed in front of Marie. She produced her Nikana and spun it in her hand before she nodded to the Gauss "Ready?"

That night, the sky saw new constellations created and destroyed, formed of ammunition that flew at speeds that would have made sound blush in embarrassment. Shots of plasma from the Gox smeared themselves against the surface of the Lanterns' shields, the damage seemingly never enough to put a dent in the defences of the fighters, always just one step short. Nevertheless, the oddly box-shaped ship continued to evade, playing a dangerous game of keep-away with itself as the ball.

Like the graceful dance of a ballerina, Vanda shifts through the patterned explosions, barely leaving Zero more than a few inches as he clears the fire, countering with missiles of his own, watching them be reduced to just another set of lights, with the few that land seeming to have done little but provoke the blue hexagons of the shielding to pop up. This changes very quickly as the Velocitus comes out. Railgun slugs slam into the shields, forcing them to fizzle out, providing what is at best a second's opening before they're back up.

It was clear that they would need a plan.

Circling the battlefield, Lucas's scans don't reveal much in the way of new information. The Lanterns were quite heavily shielded, combat-ready, and now, aware of the Deliverance's existence. Immediately upon noticing the scans, three of the ships broke ranks, changing targets from the annoyingly maneuverable Archwing to the much larger, much easier target. Within a few seconds, their incessant rain of hellfire had begun again, sending explosions rocking through the inky blackness once more.

Elsewhere, a behemoth awakens from its slumber. As Vanda continues pelting the persistent hunters on its tail with round after round. Three Lanterns had decided that he would not leave the system alive that night. Five Lanterns were working in tandem to try and force the dancer into a corner he couldn't escape from. An instant later, three had become two, one Lantern having transformed into exploded space debris, so fast that its companions had barely even registered its absence, maintaining their respective courses.

Beta Squad burst into the airlock with a level of style unexpected of even the Tenno, half of the members slipping into the open airlock with nary a care, Archwings abandoned well before they would be forced to, and their weapons already drawn. This was why it was so much more disappointing when, upon opening the door of the airlock, they would come face to face with the business end of more than one Ogris. An instant later, the trio of explosive weapons fired their shots, giving the present half of the squad mere moments to dodge before they would become a fine paste against the clean, plastic walls of the Half-Light. Perhaps, if they were quick enough, they would be able to spot the easy half-dozen of Lancers and Butchers observing the spectacle from a safe distance, cheering.

That would soon change. The Tenno were not known to be the most genial of people.

"DUH!  You think I'm gonna miss out on all the fun?!" he yells as he zooms off into the distance.  Flying at full throttle, he finally makes it to the Liset.

"Someone order a chauffeur?" he teases Naradin over the Comms as he hovers under the ship to pick him up.

Naradin always hated going into space. It felt unnatural, the feeling of your guts floating in his body like misshapen balloons in a bag.

He forced himself into the deployer. He laid down, his body loosely fitting in the crevice he laid his hand on the deployer button, which would release him into the empty void of space.

”Alright volt, I’m about to drop into space. You better be fast though. Suit is not made fo’ space,” Naradin stated, “Prepare to catch me in three, two, one, now!”

He pushed the button, feeling his body rotate. Then, he felt weightless as he was launched into space.

[Volt-Edge - Beta Squad]

*Proceeds to talk softly, imitating a flight attendant*  "Ladies and Gentleman, fasten your seat-belts, and hold onto any valuables and intestinal contents: It's gonna be a bumpy ride."

Holding Naradin tightly, Volt-Edge slams on the throttle yet again, blasting them through the hoards of Lanterns, and back to the original Landing Zone.

"ALRIGHT!  GET READY, BUD!  LAST I HEARD, THE LZ WAS HOT!  SO LET'S GIVE 'EM HELL!"

With that, he carefully drops Naradin onto the LZ as he lands from his Archwing and whips out his Twin Prisma Gremlins, which he then proceeds to use to hose down the oncoming Grineer with what could only be described as a tidal wave of bullets, whooping and cheering as the bass drops to the team's new war-tune.

A thrill shot up Kassandra's spine as the shot from the railgun turned the fighter into so much scrap metal. "Scratch one," she muttered to herself, before quickly sweeping her eyes over the battlespace. Aside from the circling Deliverance, or so the IFF read, there was also what appeared to be a massive arcwing zipping about with quite a few enemy vessels determined to pin it down.

Not on her watch.

With but a thought and a gesture, she began to acquire target locks on all five fighters, waiting until she had at least three locks before unleashing a barrage of missiles at them. The railgun wouldn't be recharged before she got too close for it to be effective, and the plasma cannons were too obtuse for this situation. Should the lanterns close on the Ghost Lance, they'd also find themselves under fire from the beam turrets.
