Gamma

A hand disturbs a corpse freshly dead, feeling around its unflinching face for any sort of communications, finding a set built into the helmet that seemed to be fused to the skin of the specimen, possibly emitting the sound directly against their cranium? Nevertheless, it seemed that their secrets would remain hidden for now.

Not too far from him, Cephalon Palutu is being plugged into an unknown system, metaphorically feeling around it in order to ascertain its nature and security. Prodding with its sacrificial system, Palutu would find that despite the most brazen of pushes, the system would respond with... nothing. Not a single security measure had been placed beyond the simple temporary blockage of the system. With access so suspiciously simple, the synthetic creature would be able to begin its cracking without worry. Pushing more of itself inside, several revelations would come in succession. First, that it held only the most basic of... Tenno protection systems? It had seemingly not been configured beyond the out of the box setup, still maintaining its foundry settings. Child's play for any half-decent hacker. The second would come in the form of the realisation that the console was barely connected to any other systems on the ship, containing a simple map of the floor's layout, along with information on how to access the exclusive communication line associated with the Half-Light.

Further digging would reveal... the placeholder files that come with every iteration of the system to orientate new users. Odder and odder.

Within a few minutes, the airlocks around Gamma Squad would seal shut with a clean hiss, unlike the hydraulic sounds often associated with Grineer technology.

Delta

While Delta Group were busy messing with the silver orb they'd found, a series of footsteps were slowly approaching. Metallic thunks bang against the plastic floors just beyond the door that would lead to the navigation area, the sheer weight behind every step being felt with each passing moment. Whoever it was, they were in a rush, and they didn't seem much interested in distractions. The owner of the obscenely heavy footsteps would stop just before the door, barking out a set of orders to what could safely be assumed to be a certain number of Grineer troops. Perhaps a higher-up on the ship? But what would they be doing here? Wasn't Beta Group's purpose to draw attention?

They were given precious little time to consider these implications as the orb still held within Cyrus's hand would begin beeping. A loud, incessant sound that rings throughout the empty room with a resounding echo, cutting short the orders of the man on the other side of the door, leaving him stunned in silence.

Immediately after, the airlocks would lock with a soft hiss. There would be no easy escaping now.

They had precious little to move, before whatever or whoever was residing behind the set of doors leading to the navigation would come to investigate. It seemed that nothing would go easily tonight, would it?

"I'm ready. Unplug me. Seek another console." Palutu had been in for less than a second.

The Cephalon then starts to fill in. They prop up the small speakers attached on the datamass, so they would be heard by other members of the Gamma squad, too.

"That console was a shallow system, mainly separate from the other ship, and on the top of that, it is distinctly Tenno architecture by its nature. It seems to be a navigation slash guide console, containing files of the layout of this floor and instruction manual for new users. Defenses were most basic. It also gave instructions for accessing exclusive communications over here. I am currently sanitizing the map file -- sanitation complete -- for further use."

Then... airlocks. Palutu hadn't been paying attention. Where the closing signal came from? The Cephalon did not remember tripping any alarms in the console.

"Please state your plan, Operatives."

Dov found it very weird that this was a Tenno system. Sounds like this might be the job of some kind of rogue Tenno group in cahoots with the grineer. Or maybe... it was something bigger than that.
And maybe that something was purposefully letting them in. Purposefully putting the most basic of systems right on the weakpoints, watching them as they followed every step of a marvelous plan.

"Feels like a trap." he mumbled to the Cephalon, activating his second ability, fitted with the Shocking Speed augment mod. Insali and Andrea could hear the faint crackle of electricity on their frames, feeling the subtle, skin-tingling feeling of static electricity. They'd have to get adjust to each tiny movement of theirs suddenly doubling up in speed in force.

"Too obvious of a trap." he added. "I think to need to push forwards."

"Trap? C'mon, they have no idea we're here."

Andrea replied confidently. To her, everything was going according to plan. The airlocks meant nothing more than automated lock down, they did hack it to get inside to begin with, right? Those guys were just overreacting. She turned around to look at them, slightly overshooting the angle due to the added speed, but adjusting.

"So, they stole Tenno designs, huh? That should just make it easier for us to crack this thing." she commented, not at all weighted down by this revelation. Back to business though "One of you take point, you've got the quiet alternatives."

DELTA

In the brief moments of stunned silence from Grineer outside the room, the Scorch acted. Opening the doors himself, Ag'ni loosed a pressurized stream of hellfire to catch his former brethren by surprise,  bathing the entire doorway and anyone that lay beyond in flames. Fire may not have been the most effective option against armoured foes, but at such close range, the sheer intense heat and buffeting waves of rapidly-expanding air was bound to disrupt even the most hardened of infantry formations. The Scorch held his position, steadfast with apparent faith in the squad that had only just barely met.

Great, wonderful, this was a perfect situation to be in, this crazed orb beeping like a crying child, but more vaguely threatening and possibly bomb-like. Brilliant. Deciding it was better than nothing, Cyrus pushes down on the circle, hoping it did something at least. Airlocks locked, no way to escape there, maybe he could run down the way that the platoon of guards did- oh boy Ag'ni has a flamethrower. Ag'ni was kind of a fiery name- no time for that. Cyrus' hand hovers over the hilt of Mire, preparing to unsheathe if any stragglers emerged from the deadly blaze of glory. It wasn't exactly...stealthy, but it also wasn't a painfully loud gunshot echoing throughout the halls. What were they doing behind those doors, though?

With sensors on the datamass and whatever is available in Dov, Palutu makes a check around to find any useful information. This could be structural information in the room, data signals around, or any oddities around. They also attempt to formulate suggestions for what to do next, as these individuals are possibly having diminished ability to make rational decisions due to increased pressure.

Upon seeing the Scorch leaping into action, Takar leaped forward as well, casting a healing wave onto the Scorch, and then putting a carpet of irradiated plants under him and whatever happened to be bathed in his fire.

If he's crazy enough to jump into action like that, then I'm crazy enough to back him up.

No one dies this time.

Not this time.

With the especially unusual section of the room scanned, and... interesting new information acquired, the group disconnects the Cephalon from the system, receiving a standard farewell message that frankly had no place on a ship this technologically advanced. A new addition, perhaps? As they begin discussing how off the situation feels, Cephalon Palutu would be putting their mind to work, sending out scanning pulses to the room around them, taking in any manner of information that they could get their hands on, as one would expect of a Cephalon. It was through this that they would identify a number of interesting details.

The machinery within the ship was... distinctly cleaner running than one would expect of any Grineer ship, humming so quietly that it could be completely tuned out, never sputtering, never stopping. Every pipe that one would normally expect to be above ground was now safely located deep inside the silver polymer that had replaced the grimy metal that commonly adorned the surface of the faction's craft. Furthermore, Palutu would notice that while the terminal was only barely connected in terms of software, it had been placed there during construction.

According to the map that the group had acquired from the system, they would be able to tell that the path from here to their first insertion point was rather... simple, and non-convoluted, a straight path through a number of lesser used hallways which should logically be devoid of any units right now, if the Beta Squad distraction had gone according to plan. After that, it was a simple left turn to reach the first insertion point, and begin hijacking the system.

Delta

Sometimes, people would demonstrate levels of ingenuity and thought that would make one marvel at how such a simple creature could come up with such a fantastic idea. Other times, they would open a door behind which someone could be heard giving commands, spewing a torrent of hellfire large enough to blot out the view of any trying to peer at the targets. Roiling waves of heat emanated from the stream as radioactive plants paved the way towards the screaming masses that lay beyond the orange barrier. However, there was one very specific voice missing from this cacophany. The voice of the man who had been giving the orders. Instead, the group would hear a loud thunk, and then another, before something would appear from the blinding flames. A hint of dark blue bathed in reds and yellows, standing unfazed.

The group would be given no time to consider the implications of this however, as the dark blue would suddenly extend, slamming into Ag'ni's face with the force of a small asteroid, likely sending him at least a foot or two back, if not entirely off of his feet. It would feel as if a piston had unloaded directly into his face, before that ugly sound would come. A monotone sound, fluctuating in pitch every so often, as if some twisted creature were attempting to imitate the sound of laughter it had only ever heard once. With the stream of fire no longer blocking vision, it would be plain for all to see that the figure that had been hidden was none other than the highest ranking Grineer on the ship, and the target of Beta Squad.

Rak Ski'talla continued his imitation of a clown entering a blender as the beeping coming from the orb in Cyrus's hand stopped. In an instant, the orb had gone from a sphere of shapeless silver to a fully grown Limbo, holding its own version of the weapons used by the researcher. However, it would be very quickly apparent that this was not a pure copy. Instead of the color scheme donned by its creator, this Limbo was painted in royal purple, with accents of white and gold encircling and patterning its designs, coming together into what could be deduced to be a wheel with several spokes on the chest. It stood there, at the ready, staring down the eight foot tall commander with what was either a full mental blank, or the bravery of a man approaching his executioner, looking him dead in the eye...

And then doing exactly nothing else. Fantastic.

Palutu immediately marks the location of the nearest promising console on Dov's HUD. "This one should work for my purposes. No patrols should be there, should Beta Squad be up to the schedule."

Because it would be unlikely that others would hear Palutu's speakers over running, Palutu tells only to the linked operative: "More data analyzed. No, that terminal seems to be part of the original design of this ship. Yes, the machinery is too streamlined and smooth to be of Grineer mindset of design despite passing similarity. This is either not Grineer-made or then this is a rare offshoot. I will repeat this to the rest of the squad once we have stopped."

DELTA

The fire stopped, and did not continue. The blow - while not entirely unexpected, still sent Ag'ni back several feet, and it was only for the anchorage of his mechanical legs and the sense of invigorating warmth that crept up from the ground beneath him that he could catch himself from falling.

Righting his footing, the Grineer in black rose to face the one in blue, if only for just a few moments. A high-ranking officer with all the prostheses, armaments and fireproof armour afforded by the position against a lowly Empire deserter with a flamethrower had a very obvious and poetic outcome. Without a word, Ag'ni backpedalled out of the way at a compromising but unyielding pace.

He wasn't alone. He brought Tenno.

"... guess he's taking point." Andrea muttered to herself, following Dov. She may be careless at times... alright, a lot of the time... but when someone's taking point they should friggin call it. Things were so much easier when it was just her and... and someone else. No matter now...

The ship was getting weirder, but again she didn't give it much thought. The silence might make it harder to sneak around, but Corpus ships offered plenty of practice in the past.

'...Wait what if this is-' Dawning realisation of how maybe the Tenno shouldn't have held the beeping orb he had activated was cut off quickly as Cyrus did blow apart into semi-organic chunks of Limbo parts. Instead, a near-duplicate of his Warframe springs into existence, blankly staring at the goliath of metal that had punched Ag'ni quite a distance. Maybe it needed instruction?

"Uh, attack! Throw your Castanas at Rak?" How specific did these things need instructions? Did they think like the original? Whatever the answer to those questions were, hopefully the Specter wouldn't blow a hole in the ship, especially in such close proximity to the airlocks...

Happy that his twin would hopefully do what was needed, Cyrus draws Mire, stepping into melee as he swings the contaminated blade towards Ski'talla's chest, tension coiling inside him in response to both a test of the weapon, and being in such proximity to an elite Grineer soldier.

The gentle hum of the Grineer ship is unlike the feelings one would normally associate with one such vessel. Instead of jarring one down to the very soul with intense shakes and rattles, the ship runs like a well-oiled machine, every part fitting in perfectly, humming in a soothing tone that could put a child to sleep. Gamma Squad, padding along with their new payload in tow, slip through the hallways silent as thieves in the night, minding empty hallways as one would a hungry animal, always on the lookout for that one troop who had fallen behind, who could possibly ruin their mission. Yet, not a single one appears, their path uneventful and... frankly, rather dull. Nevertheless, their target was now ahead of them. A single, diagonally closed door of plasticy silver, with the memorable Grineer scanner perched atop it. An easy mark for any Tenno worth their salt.

No matter whether they choose to take out the scanner or not, the inside of the room changes not. Featureless floor leads into featureless room, the only sign that this may be more than a simple broom closet being the elaborate looking console sitting at the end of it, marked on their HUD as the first access point. This... this was definitely a trap. The only question that remained was how they would be able to trigger, or circumvent it.

Beta/Delta

Behind the group, a door hisses open, Morgan, Naradin and Marie appearing. Beta Squad. However, celebration regarding the arrival of backup would be shortlived, and marked with understandably different feelings. They had much, much more to worry about. A lone tower of dark blue armor stood at the opposite entrance, a number of charred corpses behind him, and a staggering Grineer soldier in front, chuckling robotically to a joke that the others had not heard. Furthermore, there was now an additional member of the party, very similar to Cyrus, but different in a number of ways. However, the direction he was facing, and the way Delta Squad's Limbo had been communicating with it, one could reasonably assume that it was friendly.

Immediately, the formerly staggering Grineer had begun a backwards jog, raising the distance present between him and the commander, who only watched with a hidden expression as the filthy deserter fled to the safety of numbers.

All those now in attendance, however, would do well to observe the acts that would take place almost immediately after, with a series of clumsily specific commands leading to the new companion to mechanically throw bursts of two Castanas at Rak, while Cyrus himself would begin his assault with an attack from his Mire. Blade swinging through the air, aiming to land a clean slice across the man's chest, only to meet the beast's forearm instead, digging perhaps half an inch into the thick armor. That is, however, before the first pair of Castanas go off, sending an electric pulse pounding through the suit's system, causing a rapid jerk in Rak's arm, forcing him to falter in the face of pressure, a perfect time to capitalise on an opening.

Dov looked around the room. He was getting a real bad feeling about all of this. Noting the scanner, a thought came up in her head.

"Palutu?" the volt said. "Scan that scanner, please." he requested, crossing his arms.

He wondered about the scanner. Obviously, the first thought would be to destroy it immediately. But what if that's what they're supposed to do? What if it's a dud, and destroying will trigger an alarm? And what if it's both? What if it's both a normal scanner and a trigger?

"Don't destroy the scanner yet." he whispered to his teammates.

Beta

In a single instant, the mission parameters had been annihilated. What had once been a distraction group was now a rescue mission, aiming for their original target, but under other circumstances. However the events had occurred, they were now forced to ensure the safety of their friends, rushing through the doors, ruthlessly ending the lives of any Grineer they came across on the way, leaving a trail of mess and carnage in ther wake, until at last, they reached it. The door behind which Delta Squad was now holding position at. The doors hiss open, merging the two parties together, and beginning the battle for their lives in earnest.

[Marie - Beta Squad]

Pulling out her Fang blades, Marie's eyes narrowed as she saw the situation in front of her. Rak Ski'talla is there. It appears that all of Delta Squad is here, as well. Who is that Limbo, however? I do not recall seeing him back at Larunda. It appears he is friendly, however, based off his position and his focus on Ski'talla. She thought. Suddenly, Marie witnessed Cyrus charge forwards and attack Rak Ski'talla with his Mire, the two starting their battle, with the unknown Limbo throwing Castanas as support. Prolonged battle would only be disadvantageous for us. Ski'talla should be killed as soon as possible. I need an opening. Marie thought.

Suddenly, as the Castanas impacted Rak Ski'talla, the imposing Grineer had faltered due to the damage and pressure, with Cyrus' Mire digging into his forearm's armour. Marie's eyes widened. That's it! She thought. Activating Mach Rush, Marie burst forwards at incredible speeds, running across the battlefield directly towards Cyrus and Rak Ski'talla. Activating her Kinetic Plating for extra protection, she launched herself forwards, Fang blades raised.

And she thrust her Fang blades forwards, directly towards Rak Ski'talla's head, attempting to kill Beta Squad's target mere moments after they had arrived.

A series of Pandero shots rang out towards the jerking Rak's legs before a swarm of Soma fire was let loose, incendiary shells aimed for the joints. The Prime had arrived as it rushed to cover Delta as best as she could. "You looked shocked Commander Rak!" spoke the Prime in Grintok whilst she patted the Tenno and the Grineer to help them get up "Whoever threw those Castanas, throw them again!" she exclaimed, she figured the electricity might overload the suit given enough shocks but she wasn't certain at this point.

The best she could do was keep the trigger down and reload then it was appropriate.

Boring... this is boring! Not only is there no action, there's no stealth action either. They might as well be skipping all daisy like like through a field of flowers... ugh, that thought is making her sick. And they still have to be careful? This mission is annoying. But it's still better for the others to call the shots, she'll take over once things finally escalate.

"Do your thing, shock boy..."

Cyrus grins internally as the pulses of electricity stop the imposing commander in his tracks. Just in time too, as Beta Squad enter the scene in time to capitalise on the opening. As the groups unleash another round of attack on the Grineer soldier, Cyrus swings Mire once more, a horizontal motion aimed towards Ski'talla's side. Just in case the Specter only listened to its creator - he should really learn how these things work, huh - he calls out "Uh, again!"

The scanner blinks enticingly as Cephalon Palutu searches for any deviation from the standard models, bathing some small part of the hallway in soft orange, promising detection to any who walks under its gaze. Meanwhile, the group would hear... grunting? Indistinct, but numerous. If one were to estimate their numbers and locations, they were likely seconds away from entering the room, numbering somewhere near a dozen, maybe more, approaching from the direction where the bodies of their allies had been left, but showing no indication that they had noticed. However, that would very likely change within seconds, if they were to open the gate to the sight of not one, but three Tenno operatives among them. Just as they realise this, Palutu's scans would finish, indicating that there was nothing special regarding the sensor, only serving to alert the system to an intrusion, should sufficient identification not be provided.

Gamma Squad would need to act now, and decide whether they'd take their chances executing the number without a single one barking out an indication to their presence, or hiding in the room guarded by the ever vigilant scanner.

Beta/Delta

While the other groups were plagued by unclear puzzles and mental dilemmas, Beta and Delta Groups were facing something similarly difficult themselves. Despite having made headway with the discovery that electricity could mess with the mechanisms of the armor, they still faced the question of how to end such a bulky creature. In an attempt to answer that question, the first to attack had resumed his attempts. Cyrus quickly ripped his Mire away from the centimeter-deep indentation, aiming to slash at the Grineer's side, only to find his assault halted quite abruptly. A massive, armored hand had taken hold of his melee weapon. While the one that had blocked the first attack was still out of commission, the other was seemingly unaffected, much like the rest of the hulking body. The man yanks on the blade, aiming to send both it and its wielder sprawling across the room, but manages only half of the movement before his other arm is sent twitching by a second round of Castanas.

This opportunity would not go unnoticed. Immediately, a hail of shots aimed for a mixture of legs and joints rang across the room, leaving minor indents along the thick armor plating that coated every part of the abomination, setting the stage for the final attacker of the turn. The Gauss clears the room in a split second,  capitalising on her absolutely ridiculous speed to jump and launch herself at Rak, looking for the swift end, and finding it with both of her Fangs embedded some distance into the skull of the armor, something that should have rightly ended the man. It was around here, however, that she would notice that the lumbering brute had not even flinched, her attack having lacked the feeling one would normally associate with cutting into flesh. Her folly would be responded to quickly, the ridiculously heavy arm that had been stunned first pistoning into her side.
