Recommended Posts

I basicly use only 1 riven.. a tombfinger riven... and it´s one of those that just keeps getting nerfed 😞

My rant here is just me venting my frustration, because, while I don't have Rubico riven, I do have rivens for Tiberon, Arca Plasmor, Cyanex, Akjagara, all of the kitguns and some other weapons that were "balanced" earlier. Some of them were "balanced" quite a number of times already.

That is because DE have already said that dispo changes will happen in small adjustments over time. For instance, when Tiberon, Arca and Kitguns recieved their first riven dispo changes everyone knew it wasnt going to stop there, because there is a cap to how high DE allows the modifier to change in a single balance pass. So those guns were never finished in their balance.

Kitguns are still kinda out of balance because a catchmoon, tombfinger and rattleguts rivals several rivened secondaries and primaries without requiring rivens themselves.

Arca Plasmor is the only weapon I can really question the riven dispo changes on. It is nerfed soley due to popularity and not strength. It is a star chart wiper but that is about it. It is a status heavy weapon with no worthwhile status options to apply to it really. Even if modded for gas, the damage stat weight is simply too poor in order to make it an actual relying gas gun. Even if it had a max dispo it would still struggle due to relying on status while lacking good status effects and crit/crit damage.

U should nerf Rubico rivens to have same disposition like Lanka, we must to have balance between that two weapons.

because balance revolves around a weapon with a riven setup. Good weapon with bad riven = bad weapon with good riven. That's the idea of rivens. It's not that hard to understand.

It is apparently because absolutely all "bad" weapons are still trash no matter what riven you put on it, good weapons without any rivens are still better. So whoever is balancing the game is constantly drunk.

Ive no idea why people still use or buy rivens, its such a blatant bs cashgrab at this point its not even funny.

Another pointless Rubico and Catchmoon nerf. You don't have to do this. Nerf in PvE.... You have no idea how expensive those rivens are, and how much kuva is needed to get a perfect roll...

Akzani is not new, it's not fun to play. And it's disposition isn't bleeding value.

You didn't even bother engaging with my point. Which is that new fun/powerful weapons will have their disposition nerfed as soon as possible. Which is correct. You can count on it. If it's popular, it will get a downgrade.

Did you know, every weapon at some point starts out.....NEW? Not always fun, but rivens bleeding value is just as ridiculous as it sounds. The weapon is either worthless MR fodder or it isn't. You didn't originally state anything about "powerful" weapons, besides that, fun is subjective at best. Hence my jokes...yet still I love my Akzani and cannot wait for it to go Prime.( lol never happening)

This is not about powerful weapon, this is about turn amazing weapons into trash/free of rivens while ignore bad weapons.

My Catchmoon still hits like a truck after his riven went down (20k * 6.2 CD vs 22k * 6.4 CD like it was before). It's gonna take a lot more to bring this weapon to a normal level.

What upsets me more is the fact that you have to farm your ass off to get a good amount of kuva, then only to spend it all on 1 riven to get a good roll.. and then you finally do.. you guys keep nerfing the hell out of these riven.. at least refund a bit of kuva then..

Thats the thing tho. Not everyone uses crazy CC rolls on everything. My plasmor for exampl just has damage and punchtrough for plowing through doors and things like that since the innate punch doesn't seem to allow that. RElatively innocent riven that has made my REALLY useful....keeps getting nerfed to piss. Its honestly not even and ENDGAME weapon because the damage fallof vs heavies. Its just really good at mowing down crowds.

As far as Rivens are concerned. Akzani was never new. It was released August 2014, Rivens were released in November 2016.

Please, by all means, enjoy whatever rivened weapon you like. But if Akzani Prime ever happens, if it's fun and effective it will be popular, and its disposition will drop proportionately to its new found power and popularity.

My +47 cd +80dmg +48 status chance Arca Plasmor sure will like this..... Seriously thought People use these guns because they're fun, JUST make a definite predetermined disposition on the guns when they're released. You make the rivens so bad to the point where there is no point in having them. (Arca plasmor for example).

People put HOURS and HOURS into rerolling rivens, using like over 100k kuva, then the riven gets nerfed to the point where it's worse than just having a normal build.

Also you should make a separate trade chat just for rivens, because right now they seem to be the only thing people want, and it's annoying to navigate through hundreds of Fulmin Visicrons.

To be fair, after 5-6 years the starchart is already pretty trivial no matter what you bring.

man what do you mean?! i dont know meta weapons? im mr27 for god sake

and stop talking nonesense this is not balancing when you nerfing every good weapon why not just remove some useless stats from rolling a riven or let us choose  which stat we want so the stupid prices will break into much much lower there are rivens trading everyday for more than 10k plats and thats 350+euros for a simple mod ....

also what is up with DE? why not just nerf the rivens of a weapon upon release and be done with it instead of nerfing it every 3 months? players invest money/time/kuva on your terrible rolling system which is pure gambling (i can show you i rolled a redeemer riven 160times and still the stats are trash on it) and then you just nerfing the rivens and make their work and time spent worthless? i think  the rivens which is rolled should remain unchanged or all the riven should have  the same disposition otherwise this whole riven system is worthless and pointless

+ why a weapon get so much use and attention? its not because its op or anything its because its good and feels good to use and making the game more fun what is the point of these so called balance in a pve game?and they are not nerfing weapons because they are op they enrfing them based on the usage of the weapon which is so weird

Actually, the weapons that get used the most are most effective and "OP". And before Rivens, what did people say about these overwhelmingly popular weapons? They complained that everyone was using a handful of weapons, that the meta compelled them to take the Simulor and Tonkor and that everything else was just MR fodder trash. What happened to Simulor and Tonkor? They were fundamentally changed, at the mechanical and stat level. Nerfed into the ground. This too was negatively received, but was probably necessary.

So they introduced Rivens, to level the playing field for the weapons that were under powered and under used.

What I meant about knowing the meta: Knowing what is and isn't a Meta weapon doesn't just mean keeping track of the handful of weapons at the very top, there's also the issue of tracking the sub-meta weapons that can become meta with a riven. Evaluating and estimating the meta potential of a new untested weapon, and speculating where it might land in the weapon meta. As well as tracking and speculating which weapons will be getting primed next, and where their primes might land them in the weapon meta. It's a practically a hobby in its own right.

Again. They didn't touch any of the weapons you claim have been nerfed. They nerfed mods. It's called late game balancing. The base weapon is still just as effective for anyone who built, forma'd, and modded it. Rivens are a late game item that provide power to late game players, with the specific and described intention of buffing non-meta weapons. I need to repeat this, because it's essential to correct your misapprehension of the situation here. Rivens are here to dynamically buff unpopular and less powerful weapons proportionate to their lack of use and lack of power. NOT to increase the power of weapons at the very top of the pile. They are meant to homogenize weapon selection for late game players, so that work you put in on non-meta weapons in the early game can translate into late game power.

However, what the META weapons are, isn't set in stone. It fluctuates by degrees, and there are weapons that are closer and further from the top of the pile. So they created the disposition system, with the specific intention of providing continuous balance changes to adapt riven disposition to the current meta. In an attempt to make all weapons of a given class competitive with each other. Did they wait too long to start doing regular balance changes? Yes. They did, but now that they are, balance comes every 3 months with each and every prime access.

Part of this system of balances is a restriction on how much a weapon's riven disposition can change each pass. If it's falling, it may continue to fall, if it's rising, it may continue to rise. If it was all at once, just plummet and skyrocket the disposition proportionate to popularity? It would crash the market, and no one would put value in rivens, If they never change rivens, like in the past, you see riven prices spike way too high. Like in the case of your "10k plat" rivens. Which is ridiculous by the way. That kind of price is an absolute ripoff, preying on foolish people with more plat than sense.

I don't see what the complaints about "value" are coming from. If someone is spending huge amounts of platinum on something that has been well established as something that changes in stats, and then it changes in stats, like at what point is "Oh but you see, I paid X amount for it" even relevant?

Semantic equivocation. With a punch through riven on the AP you don't even have account for terrain or enemy state, and your MR doesn't matter thanks to purchase power, and neither does your frame; and that's the point. The only thing halting your progression is boss immunity phases.

The other point you're also ignoring is WF is a co-op game, and if one person is wiping entire rooms the other three people aren't playing, and this is the largest reason people quit; they're bored. The reason they're bored is there's no challenge, this weapon having a riven that allows it to completely override the three weaknesses it does have a distinct part of that problem.

You don't hear jack about the Tigris being able to hit 54 status and 100 damage which in turn allows you to remove blast and switch to cold and corrosive and slash @50K, 28K and 20K respectively, because the riven doesn't change what the tigris does or what role it plays.

Rivens are half done and hit both gambling and power slide checkmarks. Until rivens are actually tailored to the weapons they're attached to, they're literally going to stay gambling to win.

Power creep is bad. This should be obvious ppl. If you buy or roll a popular riven you do so knowing it may and likely will be changed. If you wanna argue the more reasonably questionable sure by all means please do. But why the hell are you surprised or complaining about rubico and catchmoon. Don’t rely on rivens if you can’t put your big boy pants on and accept the balancing
