Or like everything else in this game....rhino.

In Vampire Mode you'll lose 1.5% of your max health per second down to 1% of your health. So it doesn't matter how tanky your frame is or how much you boost it's health, they are all the same in nightmare mode.

Also Dopey , you can't die from nightmare mode health reduction, you'll always be left with 1% health. So Tank shields and play it like any other level and it will probably be easier than a conventional map of comparable level as you can heal yourself during combat just by killing someone.

Iron skin works the same at 100% health as it does at 1% health. Rhino is not the same as every other frame in nightmare.

Rhino has iron skin and shields before the damage gets to your health, you can basically run around with 1% hp without worries.

Use Rage and have unlimited energy.

Can someone tell me? the health regen aura doesn't work in nightmare missions

It does work.

But it's simply too slow to effectively counteract health drained by the vampire effect.

You'll be getting back 1.2hp every second from maxed Rejuvenation, but at the same time you'll lose few more hp due to vampire.

It won't stop health drain, it will only slow it down. On frames with low hp you'll see the difference.
