Tying any mechanic to frame rate is utter garbage. If you're running a free to play game in 2019 and don't get that...have you paid attention to the Bethesda news? Your enemy spawn mechanics are horrible. If you have a melee range of attack and everything else is invincible you really need a good spawn system. Instructions. Burying them cryptically and forcing the community to explain the event is shenanigans. A team event which discourages teams is just backwards. How could this be better? Mobile defense with survival mechanics. Once placed in a location a large radius is covered, allowing 4 people to cover a large room and kill for lantern energy. Caches suck, because the rewards suck. If they were about triple the values seen it'd be worth it. Hide the caches away from anywhere the lantern goes. This would make them actually difficult to find and require someone to sacrifice. Right now the only sacrifice is if a buffing frame disappears. Make the rules clear. You list 900 points as a win, but the points don't match seconds or kills. This baffles me, and seems like you're just starting the timer late. Make the pumpkins glow. If they are functionally just annoying destructible life support containers with no identification then nobody is going to value them. Get some Halloween spirit. You've got nothing special here. As an alternative instead of darkness give us thick red mists. Give the enemies an unnatural glow. Do something besides bog standard infested. It doesn't have to be intensive, like new skins, just some atmosphere that doesn't feel like recycled garbage. Rewards. I have to say the whole 5-7-10-15 minute progression is acceptable, but an ephemera and stratos emblem being 3 times as valuable as the 5 minute prize while being much more difficult to earn is a joke. Let's make is real easy, and introduce some Kavat/Kubrow fur colors. How about repurposing the dead infested shawl we earned as a sugatra (resize). What about, and I'm spitballing here, vitus essence. Connect Halloween to Grendel, the vampire Kavat, and make this an introduction to your new content. You're already offering Kavat gene codes, it's the next logical progression. Let's call this utterly waster potential. Seven ideas that took less time to write down than it'd take to implement. Most are pallet swaps, some would be altering drop tables, and the most intensive would be to merge two existing game modes. I'd guess this is not out of the question, and it's depressing that so little effort has gone into this event. Maybe next time. Maybe The Old Blood will be worth the effort. I'm hoping that the liches are more appropriately themed than this. I will call now that there will be a lot of disappointment, the perfectly usable Catchmoon being nerfed through the ground instead of being brought in-line (with Pexilus maybe allowing it to be usable with flight speed), and the new weapons being over powered until the next hotness comes along and anything even mildyly near the curve gets nerfed hard to make the newest things better by comparison while only being slight power creep. Sigh. I hate the fact that i agree with your first 4 points. Most of the issues you highlight is stuff i've just learnt to be passive towards in the years ive been playing Warframe. On your suggestions to improve it. i think Youre heading in the right direction. Theres definitely more creative angles DE could head in. On that: I remember there was an Unreal tournament Mutator once that if you cut up dead bodies (gibbed) Their body would spawn additional zombies. They could also do the Legend of Zelda skeleton one where anything that isnt a headshot just breaks thier limbs apart and makes the enemy run around reassembling themselves lol. Or just give every enemy thier own wisp 2nd ability on death that charges at the player (but doesnt hurt the player).

Clearly for me that mission was not fun and well i had some problems with it but that kind of stuff is the warframe exp so im kinda know that can happen.
Dinomotion Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 iTS TIME TO GET FOR ASH, THAT BATMAN COSPLAY FINALLY !! 😄 😄 😄

My only problem with that is Unreal functioned a lot on shot accuracy, and I never found that pegging something in the noggin' was too difficult (unless they skinned themselves oddly). The issue with that is the infested don't exactly have a consistent head and move around like they're composed of meth and ritalin. That would add difficulty, but maybe a bit more than intended (unless AOE blasts suddenly could get headshots. Interesting proposal. Also, the instagib would be interesting to see if we used an impact weapon on enemies. Never even thought of that, but with dismemberment and radiation it might also be fun to see enemies just...pop might be the word. I have issues with the wisp upon death thing. The screen is miserably cluttered already, and artificially shrunk down in the darkness. It's an interesting proposition, but it'd also require more visible area. Thinking back to other mutators that were a bunch of fun, I think that having to go in with nothing equipped and picking up a primary/secondary/melee as a difficulty modifier would give some ability to control gameplay (those lightning gun only matches were fun). Likewise, I think that locking the minimap and making all of the enemies have a lighted texture that you would have to follow back to a nest/spawn point would offer better spawning because there would be a single reliable point. My only qualms with all of the above is that there things would require effort. DE has demonstrably put forward very little effort into this event...for better or worse. Being real, the mode is probably slapped together from used assets because The Old Blood has already been bushed back a week and it isn't released mid-day on Thursday. It's going to be a hot mess. This was something to celebrate Halloween with no effort, and it shows. Dang, now I want to play UT2k4 again.
Silescere Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Finally scored over 900 with my clanmate. Very satisfying victory ^^ Never thought I'd re-discover my M-side by joyfully running into pumpkin bombs (what was that again with the Rage mod? Hurt me more?)... The hint with the 30fps was worth gold btw! Big thanks for that! Now we go for the sigil 🙂

Precisely. DE please fix your spawns for solo players. You can't design a mission like this and not increase spawns. I just failed the second mission because not enough enemies would spawn. I've been playing this game forever and am fully kitted. Killing enemies isn't a problem. It's a problem when there are no enemies to kill and this can cause mission failure. I've now failed the third mission with a speed nova because of no enemies spawning in the third horde area. The third horde area has had persistent problems spawning enemies I don't know if this is a tileset problem or something else. I killed 434 enemies in the third mission but that wasn't enough because you can't go over 100% and there's nothing you can do if no enemies spawn.. This special event now rates below dog days in my book.
Javrendei Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Finally completed this with my Speed Nova. Thanks to all who mentioned Nova, it really helped when I gave up with Atlas (he was destroying everything of course but mob spawn was broken). Melee polearm worked pretty well for this and you probably want to pick something like Handspring because knockbacks are annoying and could ruin your game. I didn't enjoyed this mission and I don't like that solo players are basically locked with one Warframe choice (Nova) in order to make it with mob spawns. Although this Halloween event is definitely better that strange one that we've seen last year. This event can be good after proper tweaks.
xwerswoodx Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I've already finished it for my friends for many times. The range + status + (crit augment) wukong (only 2 forma on staff) with berserker + condition overload you can reach 900th point. Take a pet with you which has a enemy radar mods on it so you can easily see where is the enemies and you can run through them to kill. I don't know if the event still continue but if you haven't finished it you can try this way because the only requirement is wukong prime and 2 formas for staff. (I suppose you to use corrosive and blast elements) Note that: Of course there are many other ways to complete this event, with a good team you can easily farm for a long time but this is the one of the quickest way to finish it solo while you can forma'd a weapon 2 times on ESO in 5 mins. I chose wukong because it's weapon already speedy and has high crit + status chance you can reach 100% status and can have 25% crit chance (+Primal Rage augment stack) so you can stack up berserker and that increase your attack speed for 75%. But if you have a nice status melee you can also do that with it but don't forget that wukong has a death protection so if they catch and kill you you can still continue to kill enemies without losing second. (While seconds very important for that event)
