What do you suppose would happen if you were instantly awarded with every mod you wanted and thus had no reason to continue playing the game?

Oh, right.

Why do you people always think that if someone doesn't want to jump trough a million hoops to maybe get a mod that is pretty much mandatory he want's every mod instantly?

Oh, right.

There's a point where a player will say "It just isn't worth it...."

When they've dumped 300+, 350+, 400+ hours into a game and they STILL don't have something that's crucial and core to their performance like Focus is.

Dunno if that was directed at me, but if it was... I never asked for every mod to be handed to me, but Focus is so bloody important for every Warframe (esp my main Rhino), that I really do need it... but I've done dozens of Xini missions, and have never seen it despite claims it drops there.

Use Nyx and Loki. Main them too like me.

Focus lolwut what is that :D

But yeah you have to keep at Xini. My first focus dropped in 250 hours.

Then I get 4 focus after that........

Now I just skip focus rewards.

I think I got focus gambling with my founders plat.

and yes they will have you jump through many hoops in hopes that you are providing plenty of data for the beta. These threads have predicted a long time ago.

we need a trading system.

Yeah, these drop table changes are a little off, mainly because the mods you need to progress aren't available (easily at least) until later on in the game. The mods we need early game are the ones that keep on giving. North Wind is a good choice to have early on since it provides the means to make melee a safer option, Vitality being another good early game mod. Right now though we're missing AP mods which were the bread and butter of the damage progression when I started playing, alongside the strangely MIA Redirection, which in my most recent playthrough I haven't seen at all yet, despite running the first 3 planets twice over. Importantly though, these need to be obtained without doing defense missions, please.

In the same way that we need mods that scale well all the way through the game, we really shouldn't be getting mods that you can only use effectively after a good deal of experience like (Faction) Bane mods or sentinel mods. A player who can't afford a sentinel doesn't need or want 50-75% of their mod drops to be sentinel mods.

The Convulsion mod clearly drops from things other than Fusion Drones, seeing as it's been the most common damage mod on my last playthrough and I haven't even fought a Fusion Moa yet.

Focus really isn't a crucial mod, it's a late-game mods that's kinda cool but not really necessary. I'm also not seeing how the current drop system for it is that much worse seeing as I didn't see one for 300+ hours and even then have only seen it from Xini and the Void.

I took a break from the game before loot 2.0 hit. I already had nearly all the mods, and at first I thought that the changes were awesome. Maxing my serration / redirection / vitality / etc was super fast (in comparison). Then I noticed that after weeks of playing that I hadn't seen a serration or hornet strike. I also saw a much lower drop rate for rare mods.

A quick solution would be to just have special mission rewards the first time you complete an assassination. Kill vor and get the armor piercing mod for primaries (they are going to need it). Kill j3 golem and get serration, etc. Alternatively all of these essential mods should be in the loot tables for the most common enemies (chargers, basic crew, grunts, etc).

This provides players with a clear sense of progression, and gives them the basic tools to move further. Focus is kind of a vanity mod, but serration, hornet strike, elemental mods, redirection, vitality, and rush should be straight forward to get. I have a friend who loves the concept of the game, but gets frustrated because the path to progressing without somebody carrying him isn't clear. I imagine that many new players have the same experience.

That's why this game is P2W.

For the last two weeks I only had a single Forma blueprint rewarded for a void mission (exception made to alert missions). It was a defense mission with a key of another player. From my keys dont dropped any Forma blueprint. Did all kinds of Void mission until exhaustion, and right now I cant even look to the Void tileset, except the new derelict one.

Not a single Forma for two weeks. I just imagine a newbie trying to farm the most basic materials. Pay to Win.

You haven't played void for at about 3 days then. Forma's been dropping like mad from T3s.

I've played the game for 305 hours (according to Steam), and I've never seen Tactical Pump, nor Focus, and only recently started getting any reasonable amount of damage increase mods. I have more Fusion Cores than I can use. The gross majority of the useful mods are myths and legends to me, and I find myself buried in a good number of duplicates and useless mods (Intruder? Good lord, who has any issue with hacking after the first few times!?) It's just getting depressing. 305 hours in and I feel as if I'm only of middling power, at best. Needless to say, it's frustrating. And seeing the drop rates gleaned from a system that was supposed to fix things? Ugh. As others have said, they've added other layers of randomness to an already random system, which, in my view, only makes it worse. This situation is untenable.

It's actually not quite as bad as it would seem.  Apollodorus, the Mercury survival mission will help a lot.  There's no focus, but Streamline, Flow and Serration are definitely available there - and the enemies there remain under level 20 until the 20 minute mark or so.  Plus, because it's excellent XP for relatively little trouble, chance are they will find a group with at least 1 vet with a nuke gun to make sure they make it through OK.

The drop tables could certainly use some tuning, of that I have no doubt - but it's not quite as bad as it seems.

I played one right now and still didnt drop Forma bp. It only drops Draka blade parts.

And Quick Thinking never drops. I think I will not saw this one, since theres already some whiners asking for removing it.

You're not really missing on anything.

Also forma have 37% chance of dropping from all t3 voids, I got 3 in a row earlier today. Keep trying but don't buy void key packs. For fast and easy void t3 keys run corpus survival for 15 minutes, you will most likely get either t3 capture or t3 survival. And any level corpus survival works too so E gate is easiest.
