Lachryphage Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 That's a real ninja like England has a real queen.
CrystalTrees Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 That's a real ninja like England has a real queen. "thats a fake ninja" you said. but why?
VScipii26 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 "thats a fake ninja" you said. but why? Because he is. He takes the idea and trains people not for combat, but for theatrics. It makes excellent movies and is impressive to watch, but is extremely impractical and should not be looked at if you want "real" ninja moves or any actual combat skills. he says : ' we aren't creating fighters, we are creating people who can be artists and actors ' I do wish people would pay attention to that.
Cinderain Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) Bujinkan is a fairly large organization. He takes the idea and trains people not for combat Like a lot of modern martial arts schools today. The historical accuracy of modern ninjutsu is iffy at best, but how often are you going to fight on horseback, blow things up and distract enemies with shrapnel and smoke bombs and defend yourself with such a wide variety of melee weaponry? Martial Arts had recreational purposes in the past just as it does now, but things change as time goes on, priorities and usefulness shift. Edited September 30, 2013 by FatalX7
Morgax Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I remember attending two lessons in total (life issues, lack of time yada yada yada) i've learned how to roll/fall properly and basic stance (which i still use in transportation when it's crowded/driver nuts), pretty worthwhile especially if you are going with friends.
