Fiia Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 What do you consider to be the best search engine? Why do you use it? I think duckduckgo is the best. The reason I use it is because it does not track you as you search. It took me a considerable amount of time to find one like this as most tack everything you do, and use it to target you, or sell the information to others to use.

No they don't. Internet Explorer? :I Not a Search engine No. ^^^^^^^ I think most people use google. The only competitor is bing, and that's just plain awful. What are you, an ad campaign? Azure_Kytia Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 http://azurespace.net Wait, this isn't an advertising thread? Okay then.
Mainabi Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 http://scholar.google.ch/ that's not bad, but it rly depends what you're looking for if you want darkweb etc there are better options than that ^^
EganMC Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Truth be told, I just use the URL bar and let the internet decide what's the best engine for me.
Azure_Kytia Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Me too. Considering I'm using Chrome you can easily guess what that is.
Fiia Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Not an ad, just me making a thread. It is off topic after all. And yes, Google does filter bubble your searches to customize it to you personally. Meaning, two different people who use Google regularly will not receive the same results on the same search word. It will be tailored to each person's profile. I just wondered what people use, and why. Seems many give it no thought.
Azure_Kytia Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Why think when the internet does it for you.
Rengakun Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 No they don't. And you know they don't because? Here's a few things: I Googled some Japanese stuff. Some ads with Japanese stuff appears on them. I Googled Warframe many times repeatedly. All I see are Warframe ads now. I got some people together and we searched the same word. We all got different results tailored to what we searched previously. NSA is involved with Google. The money they get from Shareholders and their paid services isn't enough to sustain them. They sell our personal information which they got from all of your searches compiled together. Fiia Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) Rengakun, wow a person who thinks along the same lines. It is nice to not be in the boat alone! :o) duckduckgo is a great service that I see more and more people using as they finally realize using Google is well, custom made search results that plan on people never going past page one.
