So why do archwings exist? (RJ and Open worlds reflection)

When AW released, its base content wasn't really much.

Every base AW mission feels like a chore to play, no fun in it. Then WaterWing came, and it was an even bigger mess. I don't see anyone going back to those modes after they completed them.( DE sure as hell haven't touched either of those type of maps in a long time.) AW missions are only played to level them up, or to grind the mods. The missions themselves feel really awkward to play. The AW's themselves are slow to level compared to any other gear in the game, which makes us play these modes even more, and it hurts.

Then we got open worlds, so now AW got a reason to be used, and it felt like a part of the game. Before it felt like a thrown-in-the-corner thing, now it was C O N N E C T E D, the word someone loves to overuse. OWs have a large area to cover, and without AW it's really a pain to play because of the sheer map size. So instead of creating travel waypoints or making hoverboards better, the only good way of travel was severely nerfed.

Now RJ comes, the content that should give AW a purpose to exist. It's space combat, that's what their original intentions were with archwings. They are our dogfighters, our way to combat the smaller ships, right? Too bad that archguns are really, really weak against any of the ships, and then they even nerfed them. The only not terrible one is cyngas, but  i guarantee you they will nerf that along with amesha.

Then you may say that hey, it's railjack content! Fine, where are the good railjack guns? Our ships, even at maxed avionics, skills and all the jazz are still made of cardboard. Our best MK III RJ turrets can't really do any decent dmg to the fighters. The best way to play is to leave the RJ behind and fight with amesha+cyngas. The conclusion that anyone might draw is to buff other archwings and make our railjacks impactful enough where we don't want to leave them behind. Is that what's gonna happen? No.

So if AW was too good for open worlds and too good for railjack content, why is it even in the game? It's laughable how our countless hours of AW grinding, AW gear grinding and AW mod+endo grinding is basically thrown out of the window in RJ, because even a fully maxed AW loadout won't do you much good unless it's that specific two that are good.

The funny thing is archwing is at its worst on archwing missions, due to its full of narrow corridors in the most missions, hard to stop and revive the fellow Tenno, and always pause after each crash.

In plain/valley, however, it is the essential transport.

In railjack? Well, it is a boarding craft.

Yeah, that's mostly what I meant by saying it feels like a chore. Bumping all over the place, hard navigating and manouvering feels like hell.

It could be so much more in railjack if aws were not so weak, because the content itself feels really fun to play.

Piloting your railjack, aiming the turrets, managing stuff also feels really solid gameplay-wise, if only the railjack itself was not weak.
