They are not sure why but I'm relatively sure it has something to do with the pilot recently or consistently "drifting" and then dropping the helm. Perhaps but unlikely as I'm always host, and 90% of the time play solo and don't really use the RJ. After paying more attention its definitely environmental noises from a grineer shipkiller/other objective that you are supposed to hear when inside those - so it may have something to do with it not recognizing the objective has been completed, or when/how the player leaves the grineer objective (door, tactical 4 teleport, squad up, other..)
