This is DE's business model as of late. So much new content is riddled with problems that were already fixed in old content, like with Wreckage vs. Riven Mods. When we get one-too-many Rivens, the game prompts us to A) buy slots, B) choose a Riven to dissolve, or C) Ask me later. With Wreckage, extra pick-ups are just deleted automatically without a chance to look at them.

Also, Kuva Weapons vs. Railjack components. When we find a Kuva Weapon with a better bonus, we can simply transfer that bonus to what we already have. With Railjack, we can't. It's such a blatant step backwards; it's re-introducing a problem that was already fixed. It's extremely disappointing.

Obviously they've run out of creative ideas for items in railjack and so went to the garbage bin rather than coming to the community for advice.

Ofcourse theyre gonna try and make RNG stat thing work so dont expect any changes until they eventually re-work.

I am not enjoying it either. Finally got a Kuva Twin Stubba after almost 30 liches - with 28% damage. Really not looking forward to another 30 liches, only to get one with 25% damage.

But at least I got the weapon I wanted, and it works. When you get a Vidar reactor with <50 avionics, it's the same as getting nothing at all.

same will go for every kuva stubba below 28% from now on.

for many people like me EVERY single kuva gun below max is trash. why? because we spend tons of forma and plat for rivens and time to min max the weapon to it's absolutely fullest potential. which is not possible if the potential is #*!%ed by rng. (yes, i fully realize the irony in regards to rivens, i was against them when they were released but learned to accept a single layer of rng. the amount of work needed to reroll a riven and farm an entire new kuva weapon is not even closely comparable tho)

Sadly enough RNG stats aren't considered a bad thing anymore. Quite the nerve from people who mock other companies when they do the same (no, not necessarily microtransactions-wise). The time of the glorious company who fought against slot machine systems is long gone.

Yeah, this is something I generally don't get. People got all up in arms about Lootboxes when Star Wars did it (despite plenty of us having criticised them for a decade prior), and yet Warframe is chock full of virtual lootboxes which is... Fine, somehow? Is it literally just a matter of us paying real money for loot boxes vs. earning them in-game? Because from where I'm sitting, that's not a material difference. Whether I plonk down $10 of my money or I spend $10's worth of my spare time for a spin of the slot machine, I'm still hitting the lever in a virtual casino. I know random drops have been a thing in video games since Diablo at least, and likely long before that, but... I've personally always hated them and found them exploitative. Modern looter shooters themselves seem to agree, because plenty of them give you deterministic fallbacks at least to some degree. I still want to see The Division's Optimisation Station in other games, but that hasn't happened yet.

But no, I don't understand why DE get away with virtual gambling just because it's paid for with in-game currency. It's still gambling, and it still cheeses me off.

I don't mind RNG stats, if they make some sort of sense. If the MK III wreckage just about always rolls lower then the base Sigma III items, then your system is broken. The entire idea is to get us to have fun going out there and farming for new parts for our ships. Its not fun if the 'good' parts finally drop and the stats are crud. They just need to rebalance the values on this wreckage. RIght now there is almost no reason to go find and put the resources into fixing this stuff and using it. No one uses a weaker weapon if they have the strong one already with less investment.

RNG stats only make sense if you make the loot immediately available. If you make people spend resources or have to wait to use those RNG stat items, it just makes the whole experience worse for everyone. You don't want to experiment with any builds because the time and resource investment to do so is just too high. Not to mention the excitement of getting a new item is just ruined when you realize you have to spend hours, if not days, grinding resources and waiting out time gates to be able to use it. In short, random stats do not work with the way Warframe's economy is currently set up. DE needs to completely revamp how they do things if they want to introduce randomized stats that are actually fun.
