Mag "pull" Does Not Interrupt Certain Actions

When using my "Pull" ability, I've noticed that while it interrupts Shockwave Moa's stomping animation, moments later, a shockwave still emenates from where the Moa was when it started the animation.  If the Moa did not complete the animation, the shockwave shouldn't happen, right?  I'm not sure if this applies to other enemies which should have their actions stopped when their animations are interrupted, since I'm not very far into the game and haven't seen all enemy varieties yet.
