I bought the bundle, that includes war, stalker armor and some other stuff. It's worth it imo and I'm not sure if I got enough parts to build a 2nd one in the whole time playing. Ultimately there are generally better weapons in the same categories for both weapons and you lose the catalyst and any forma for the weapon, so I wouldn't craft the upgrade.

Do not burn your Broken War to make War. BW is a very good sword.

I’ve built both, but I made a second Broken War first.

The way I see it, it's a matter of "opportunity cost": Broken War is one of the best swords, if not the very best, but War is not the best heavy blade. So you're essntially giving up something that is the best for something that isn't, which is quite obvously problematic: of course, as others have said you can just make a second Broken War (Simaris has the blueprint IIRC) so that you can keep both War and Broken War, solving the issue.

Thanks for telling. I didn't knew simaris has the bp. I was going to craft war today but only have 1 broken war.

The components of Broken War (not the BP) are seriously annoying to farm, though.

I still agree with others. Especially, if you got a potato / forma in the broken war, don't burn it but make another one.

That assumes that Swords are just as good as Heavy Blades

Which might be true now in Melee 3.0 (I mean all melee weapons just break the game open) but back when Second Dream came out Heavy Blades were much better than Swords. Of course, Broken-War wasn't nearly as good anyway
