Recommended Posts

Decaton is a warframe centered around the use of several potions, vials, decoctions, and a bomb to destroy his enemies, support his allies, and defend himself while in Dangerous Situations. Please not that all values listed are at max level.

Stats
Health:
350
Shields: 350
Armor: 300
Energy: 250
Sprint Speed: 0.9

Passive
Decaton gains 5% power duration and 5% power efficiency for 15 seconds when he or an ally drink from a potion or a decoction. Effect stacks 3x and can push through the Efficiency Cap. Each stack will refresh the duration when gained.

Reason behind this passive: This allows Decaton to utilize his skills more often, you will soon see why as the abilities are explained

Abilities

Ability 1 - Potion Belt:
Decaton can choose an active potion within his belt by holding the button. Pressing it will toss one potion onto the ground. Each potion has 1 use for the whole team but can be spammed out to have 4 out at once. Tossing a potion costs 25 energy

Potion 1 - Healing Potion: Walking over this potion will give Decaton or his allies a 500 Health (Effected by Power Strength) and Regenerate Health by 50 points for 10 seconds (Effected by Power Strength and Duration)

Potion 2 - Mana Potion: Walking over this potion will give Decaton or his allies 25 Energy (Not effected by Power Strength) and will regenerate energy by 2.5 points per second for 5 seconds (Effected by Power Duration Only)
Edit: Reduced Energy Gained by 10. Reduced duration of energy regen by 5.

Potion 3 - Damage Potion: Walking over this potion will give Decaton or his allies a 100% Damage Bonus for 30 Seconds (Effected by Power Strength and Power Duration)

Augment - Cryptic Mixture: When a potion is used, the one who consumed it will be given all three potion effects at once, but reduces the amount of active potions allowed on the ground to be 2.

Ability 2 - Vial Bag: Decaton will pull out a vial from his bag and toss it onto an enemy when tapping the button, holding it selects which one. Costs 50 energy

Vial 1 - Toxic Fog: This vial will spread a wide ranged toxic cloud onto the field and will cause 300 Toxic Damage and will apply the Toxic Status effect. The Could has a 30 Meter radius and cannot pass through walls, but will seep through doors when they are opened. Lasts 25 seconds. (Power Range, Strength, and Duration)

Vial 2 - Black Fire Vial: This vial will cause the floor to erupt in flames, causing any enemy to walk into the fire to take 250 Fire Damage per seconds and will be afflicted with the Fire Status Effect. The fire spot lasts 15 seconds and has a 15 meter range. (Power Duration and Strength)

Vial 3 - Devil's Due Vial: This vial causes a massive explosion in the area it is thrown, dealing 3000 Blast Damage, reduced the further away a target is from the center of the blast, and will break 50% of Armor and Shields. Blast radius is 20 Meters and cannot pass through walls. (Power Strength only)

Augment - Careless Toss: Decaton no longer will search for the right Vial and will instead toss his bag, causing all 3 vial effects to occur at once. This puts the Vial Bag on a 10 second cooldown.

Ability 3 - Decoctions: Decaton will toss out a Decoction of his choice, which can be used 4 times. Only 1 Decoction can be active at a time. Press to deploy the decoction, hold to swap. Costs 100 Energy.

Decoction 1 - Dauntless Decoction: Drinking this Decoction will cause Decaton and his allies to become immune to knockdowns and take 50% less damage from all sources. Lasts 60 Seconds (Power Strength only, Caps out at 75% Damage Reduction)

Decoction 2 - Wind Stride Decoction: Drinking this Decoction will cause Decaton and his allies to have 50% Increased holster Speed, Fire rate, Melee Attack Speed, and movement speed. Lasts 60 Seconds (Unaffected by mods as to not shatter the game. Gauss Im looking at you)
Edit: Reduced Speed Increase from this Decoction due to friends informing me on how nutty it would be.

Decoction 3 - Chromatic Decoction: Drinking this Decoction will cause Decaton and his allies to gain 100% elemental damage of all BASIC elements on all weapons. Lasts 60 Seconds. (Power Strength, No cap on this Decoction)
Edit: Drinking this Decoction not only buffs weapons, but abilities as well. On top of this, any weapon or ability with combined elements will see that specific element be buffed by 200% at base.

Augment - Side Effects: Drinking a decoction will grant one of the other two decoctions as well, at only 25% of its effect. Lowers Decoction use count to only 2.

Ability 4 - Cryotic Rupture Bomb: Decaton tosses a chaotic mixture onto the field and it will explode, dealing 5000 Cold Damage to all enemies in the area, freezing them solid. Enemies frozen by this ability take all impact damage as Finisher Damage instead. Range of 30 Meters, Freeze lasts 5 seconds, Cannot go through walls. Costs 125 energy (All Power Mods effect this ability)
Edit: Reduced the range, it is also to be capped at 50 Meters. Don't wanna toss it and send the Plains into a winter season.

Augment - Gallium Infusion: Cryotic Rupture Bomb will leave a lingering freezing field on detonation at 25% of the size of the bomb's explosion, dealing 200 Impact and Cold Damage and will slow enemies within its area. Lasts 20 seconds.

Tweeked a few abilities to reduce their values. Ones that I can personally tell to be overpowered. Keep feed back coming

A really nice idea! Love the idea of an Alchemist!

However as he is, he sounds a little to poweful. So, as he is an alchemist id tie his abillities to the inventory, espacially to minerals and plants farmed on the planes, but also stuff like rubedo. Like one use of careless toss consumes a mix of plants and minerals. if not enough are in inventory u cant use the abillity.

I'd exclude though anything constructed like potatoes or such from consumption.

Also i noticed a problem: the reason why there are secondary elementals is because there was illogic in the procs (like mobs being deepfrozen, and a flame). As Chromatic Decotoction is, it would reintroduce that problem.

So i suggest that the skill is changed from changing elemantals dmg to all basics, to one (randomly selected) of the 4 kinds. Also all weapons get the same kind, to make matters more interesting.

I doubt the viability of a Warframe whose usefulness depends entirely on the user's willingness to farm relatively out-of-the-way materials via taking time out of the mission to employ the Scanner and deliberately look for them. Especially not if there is a possibility you could run out in the middle of the mission.

If plant reagents were to matter at all I'd say make his quest employ scanning plants and collecting other reagents across the System in order to craft his alchemy bag once and for all to use it as a crafting component for the Frame itself alongside the other three components.

Interesting point about the elements, though, albeit a relatively minor one considering one can produce the same effect by switching weapons rapidly against one enemy. If it were that important, though, I'd say it would make more sense to borrow a page from Gauss's book and let using two potions of different elements against the same enemies produce AOE reactions based on their resulting combination elements, e.g. fire and ice triggers an explosion, shock and toxin make a pool of acid, shock and cold make a magnetic implosion that draws in enemies, ice and toxin makes a spreading Viral contagion, fire and toxin make an AOE gas cloud that gives you and allies in the initial blast radius temporary invisibility dispelled prematurely by firing, etc.

Also I was under the impression Chromatic Decotoction would just buff damage to any source of the single elements from you or allies, primarily including your own abilities but also including weapons and maybe abilities for everyone if they happened to have one of one of the four appropriate types.

Chromatic Decoction is indeed meant to not only improve his and his allies weapons, but to increase ability damage as well. I will make an edit to Chromatic Decoction to clarify this and one other point.

Yeah, Decaton's abilities only require energy and not plants as if I worked on the mindset of "If I would not want to do it, I would not subject others to do it instead"

His quest is in the works still as I am not the best with lore beats.

I am planning out the quest for him at this moment, along with a reworking of how he works

Quest will include the following
-1 Crafted Item
-Visiting 3 play spaces, being Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallius, and the Void
-Faction Dealings with Parron Sequence, Arbiters of Hexis, and New Loka
-1 Signature Weapon (Not needed to be crafted)

The Reworking will give you a choice selection before entering each mission to choose which Decoction and Potion you want to bring along, while the Vials will remain unchanged unless number tweaks are needed.

Stay toned for updates, the rework, the quest, and potentially more

Quest
The Bag of Plenty

Within this quest, you will travel to a relay and speak with the New Loka representative to begin it, asking you for aid in gathering plants from various locations for study. Of course, she will offer a reward of a diagram for a warframe that they have been testing with support from Parrin Sequence and Arbiters of Hexis.

Step 1 - Seedling Gathering
Within this step of the quest, you will meet with a team of 4 New Loka members on the plains and escort them to 3 spots to collect seeds from local flora. You must defend them while they gather. Vay Hek has also released several ghouls to rip them apart, so watch out tenno! They collect the needed seeds within 5 minutes in each location. You do not need to escort them completely from position to position as they will have a Corpus Drop Ship to bring them from location to location, you just have to defend them within each location. You can choose to ride on the drop ship as well for a bit of fun. Once you are done, the drop ship will return to Cetus and this step is completed.

Step 2 - Blueprint recovery
Within this step, Arbiters of Hexis representative will contact you about a blueprint that was stolen by the corpus within Orb Vallis. You are tasked with recovering that blueprint and crafting it. Resource cost at the end. Upon arrival, Alad V will contact you with the location. He isn't your ally fully, but he sees this as a potential way to get in good standings with Parrin Sequence and sell them things, a win-win in his books. You must travel to the location and hack into the vault to steal the blueprint back. Return to your orbiter after and begin building it. This is Decaton's bag.

Cost for Decaton's Bag
1000 Nano Spores
5 Golite Tears
5 Esher Devar
300 Polymer Bundles
Requires 5 Minutes to craft

Once the bag is built and claimed, Ordis will contact New Loka for the next phase of their research.

Step 3 - Weapon Recovery

Within this step, New Loka will inform you of a weapon from their vaults has been stolen and is needed for the last phase of the quest. Perrin Sequence has the location if this weapon and have dispatched a squad of operatives to retrieve it. This is where you come in. You have to go to the mission and distract the enemies in a 15 Minute survival for them to recover the weapon safely. This will take you to the void, specifically Mot, and handle the mission as normal. Once the time is up, you can extract. You will be given the weapon within a message in your inbox.

Weapon in question

Siphoning Flower
Type: Blade & Whip
Attack Speed: 1.1
Critical Chance: 20%
Critical Damage: 2.1x
Status Chance: 30%
Damage: 300 Total
100 Slash
50 Impact
50 Puncture
100 Corrosive

After this weapon is yours, New Loka will contact you with the final phase.

Step 4 - Diagram Collection
Within this final step, New Loka sends you on a mission into the void once more to complete a spy mission, to collect diagrams for a unique planter and your reward. Nothing special about this mission, except this tower in the void has not one soul within it. Once you have collected the final diagram, the tower will activate a special defense protocol and send after you Decaton himself. Defeating Decaton will give you him as a deactivated warframe. Extract with your loot and head to your foundry. You will be given the option to combine Decaton's Deactivated Frame with his bag, this allowing you to reactivate him and put him under your control. Report to New Loka once more and they will reward you with 5 Universal Medallions and a 3 orbiter decorations to boot.
