(moved to feedback) Fixing the Mecha Mod Set

While the Mecha mod set is kinda potent when it works... the key phrases are 'kinda' and 'when it works'.

It needs a fairly decent overhaul to make it the powerhouse that puts kubrows back on the Navigation map.

First, some changes regarding marking mechanics:

  • it will still require a kubrow (still not counting Helminth) as active companion to mark enemies
  • ... however, equipping just one mod from the set will allow the kubrow to start marking enemies (pointed out by comment that the set already does that)
  • in addition to increasing the size of the icon, marked enemies will glow with a golden-yellow pulse every second
  • the marked enemy is shown in the minimap as the kubrow icon with a 'golden-yellow' color, and will be shown even without mods like [Enemy Radar]
  • priority of marking targets are:
    1. those within the player's line of sight
    2. those nearest the player
    3. those not sight-obstructed by obstacles
  • allies killing the marked enemy will still activate the effects of the set mods
  • all the mods will share a single buff icon that will use the kubrow symbol, and a number beside showing how many enemies were counted within the AoE of killing the marked enemy

Second, changes to the effects of the mods themselves:

  1. Mecha Empowered: Marked Enemy takes 25% more damage, and killing a Marked Enemy grants 60% extra damage for 20s for each enemy within 30m of Marked Enemy
    • effect on Marked Enemy stacks with other players also equipping [Mecha Empowered] marking the same target, to a total of 100% multiplicative damage
    • effect of extra damage is additive to mods like [Pressure Point]
  2. Mecha Pulse: Killing a Marked Enemy grants 60% Armor for 20s for each enemy within 30m of Marked Enemy
  3. Mecha Overdrive: Killing a Marked Enemy grants 30% Status-Link and 30% Status Duration for 20s for each enemy within 30m of Marked Enemy
  4. Mecha Recharge: Killing a Marked Enemy grants 30% Shield Capacity and 30% Shield Recharge for 20s for each enemy within 30m

Implications of all these are:

  1. Better group synergy
    1. users of the Mecha set no longer will have to worry about their kills being stolen from them
    2. additionally, it'll encourage squads to go after the marked enemy even if the others don't have any of the Mecha mods, just so they're being a bro to their mate(s) who do have them
    3. initial effect of [Mecha Empowered] on the marked enemy will make it a respectable option to compare against other aura mods
  2. Encourage a more exciting risk/reward system
    1. unless you're using [Mecha Empowered] for its initial debuff, the mods' effects only activate when the marked enemy is killed, so the user doesn't get any benefit on 'downtimes' between kills, but will feel like a GOD on a kill
    2. more enemies within the AoE of the marked enemy means higher benefits from the entire set
    3. encourages a different mindset where having lots of mobs around a weak target would be encouraged, but having a solo boss is very risky, especially without [Mecha Empowered]

uh... you already only need one piece of the Mecha Set for your dog to start Marking Enemies. confus?

however i like your visibility suggestions for the Mark, to make sure that you can tell it apart from everything else. and Allies still triggering the effect.
