Endless Kuva Lich missions

I think the elephant in the room regarding murmur farming is that normally endless missions types aren't. You only get 5 minutes of survival, 5 waves of defense etc with a hard cap on how many thralls can spawn per mission and that's it. With loading screens, mission selection etc you probably spend 1-2 minutes with downtime between missions that last at most 5 minutes.

If the endless mission types were actually endless, with the thrall cap resetting on each reward rotation (every 5 waves defense, 5 minutes survival etc), think about how much less annoying the grind would be. A single 20 minute survival mission to complete the first requiem. You might even want to run 40 minutes to complete the first two in one run, so that you already know 2 mods and can start the guessing game proper. And if you need your lich to spawn, you don't have to run multiple missions with nothing happening, you hop into a defense and just stay and fight until they eventually come.

To me, calling this issue an elephant in the room is an exaggeration. It's just a nuisance. I recognize that having endless missions would be a QoL improvement, but just to make the grind slightly less annoying.

What you can call an elephant in the room is the fact that the core gameplay of our lich fight is a mindless repetition of the same shallow missions that we've been doing in the game from the start, despite it being labelled from DE as  "a completely new breed of enemy, gameplay, and reward". Think about how much less annoying the grind would be if it were about something truly original instead of the same recycled soup.

It's soup, except you have to eat it in a separate restaurant from the other food. Even though the restaurant is identical.

It makes the soup less appealing if you can't get the other food at the same sitting.

They recycled old content but then separated it from the existing reward loops. Now you have to double down on the same old missions.

It either needs to be integrated into our existing routines or have it's own unique missions.

Proper analogy on how alot of warframe content(especially in the recent years), stale soup that clearly used the exact same content with a new layer of textures. Since kuva liches currently work like a unique capture, then revisiting kuva siphons to then do a unique fissure on a ridiculously harder map (kuva fortress annoying map design and higher lvl enemies) for small rewards, then random `alert/invasion` type missions at sortie 2-3 tier enemies except with EVERY type of grineer (including those map jammers & switch tp spamming commanders) and to wrap up the cycle with a Nightwave 1 style `wolf of saturn six.

Course i could say the same on railjack but i will avoid describing that too when you comb the entire content. Honestly i would say disruption was the closest content we ever got that felt actually unique compared to others even alot of openworld which was just mostly solar map missions on a gigantic map for the most part.

And this is why i keep declaring that many ways could fix it, but it ultimately needs to scrap the entire flow of how it works currently and i feel is likely one of the best ways on how to do it:

  • Remove R.Mods, R.Relics and how we currently get the Kuva weapons.

  • Lich is around ALOT longer and we fill up a gauge thru killing its thralls AND completing perma-node missions that over-lap regular missions by replacing some enemies wth grineer `thralls` of the same level as the enemy map or you have these higher level thralls appear and will focus fire only you and will not attack `lower levels`, till they get dps`d enough by them to tick them off so they turn off the focus fire.

  • Once the gauge is full, the lich will spawn in the NEXT mission and bring a kuva weapon it had listed, after you smack them down you can decide to take the weapon (aka kuva weapon getto) OR break it across thar face to spook them hard so they decide not to bring that weapon on the next encounter and you get a LARGE chunk of kuva too, with either case it RANKS UP.

  • Throw in a bonus where you also have a way to humilate them and cause them to rank down in `prestige` aka the queens end up taking away some of the lich`s crew and what not, which could double as a way to boost the gauge gain rate and reduce the difficult of the thralls to boot.

  • After you lay the smack down on the Lich enough times, you will find out about thar forward base aka either a galleon/asteroid-base/planet-side camp, etc. Where you can directly go after them, really give them a 3 course beatdown and then finally decide between ending thar life for good, convert them to your cause or kick them to further embarass them so far they go all the way back to rank 1. But in any of the cases this would double as a way to recover all the loot they took from you plus gaining a bunch of extra loot that is basicall multiplied loot based on the lich`s rank and you get a huge sum of kuva also in the process.

System uses no R.Mods, no R.Relics, no freaking b.s. rngs-sus, allows you to get the weapons alot smoother and control what weapons the lich brings and can let you chase duplicates with maybe an extra few features could be added in the process like something `fun` like daring the lich to take you down with a certain weapon which could gurantee it bringing that specific weapon. Makes it long-lasting relationship and the loot they keep pilfering can actually pay-off with a huge reward when you want to teach them a really harsh lesson. Plus actually gives us a REAL finale we can decide when that starts on our own terms instead of the lich deciding to just rng-sus spawn whenever the fk it wants.
