No Kuva Lich after killing larvaling

I spent about 3 hours trying to get a Kuva Lich with a Kuva Brakk using LImbo tonight on Cassini. I finally found one and when I killed him, he turned red, floated, and the guardian said he had been chosen. When I got back to my orbiter, no lich appeared. I quit and reloaded the game, still no lich.

I had the same issue. Got a Bramma, mercy lich, finished mission. No Lich. I quit the game and came back, still no lich.

So I thought I forgot to mercy. Went hunting again, got a Nukor, mercy lich, finished mission. Still no lich.

Yeah I was really excited and into the lich thing, but this really put a damper on it.
