Idea For Shields (On Melee Weapons)

So we know two things about melee:

1 - most 1 handed weapons are useless

2 - block is more or less useless

 

An easy way to fix this - introduce shields as cosmetics for the one handed weapons. Equipping a shield in the cosmetic slot would significantly increase defense when blocking.

 

Why cosmetics? Well if you have multiple shields, with each one better at blocking different things (IE small round shield for melee blocking, tower energy shield for bullets) and that way rather than releasing 5 types of Skana each with a different shield you only have to release the shields.

Shields would be kickass.

But since they would require new animations... Maybe as entirely new weapons or as buyable/craftable addons for existing 1h weapons as you said!
