heavy attack ground slam

we still... can´t perform a ground slam in the air if we look at the ground and press heavy attack, if we don´t hold a melee weapon

yes "E" works, but thats a normal ground slam not a heavy attack ground slam with increased dmg by melee combo counter

just to be clear, if i have a rifle in the hand i can´t perform a heavy attack ground slam, we are forced to switch to melee weapon first or perform ridicolous melee actions in the air 
it kills the whole ground slam machanic and i´m waiting for a fix since melee 2.9999999999 patch month ago...

it freaks me out... right now we have "new" ground slam visuals we barely use, that doesn´t make any sense...

What is this post? I can do heavy attack slam just fine. And you have to switch to melee for regular heavy attack anyways! I don't see a problem.

you can´t use a heavy attack ground slam with increased dmg by combo counter in the air with guns in your hands

it just works if you have a melee weapon in your hand or with E, but that doesn´t increase your slam damage by melee combo counter

Yup.
 

There’s a lot going on in Warframe. I’m surprised they can fit all the mechanics on a standard controller. If paddle controls become standard separate buttons in the next gen consoles, it will definitely help out.

One solution here would be to change “Melee only” to “Melee PRIORITY”.

This new Melee Priority stance would be the inverse of the standard controls. Left trigger would always block and always melee glide, but pressing fire would seamlessly transition to firing your weapon. 

If this ever got implemented I would probably play this way, as I hip fire most of the time anyways.

EDIT: I just realized that this control scheme would make alt fire on weapons very awkward, but I guess that’s a sacrifice you would make if you wanted heavy slams to be more accessible.

Nope. I have both secondary fire and heavy melee bound to Q. But I also have just heavy melee bound to F. Neither button lets me do heavy attacks, in the air or on the ground, without first hitting the normal melee button to switch to melee mode.

It would be really nice if you could do heavy melee attacks with your gun out, because its super awkward to have to do a normal attack first. This is the main reason why I don't use heavy attacks nearly as often as I really should. It just plain takes too long. Plus, this is one of the last awkward vestiges of the old melee 2.0 system, and that really needs to go.

The Secondary Fire and Heavy Melee attacks is NOT separate for controllers. They are only separate on keyboard.

 

Also I am for the controller optIon to choose Melee if it melee weapon is out, and Secondary fire when a gun is out.

The reason this is the case, is that "Heavy Attack" is not set up for "Quick Melee" you can't switch to your melee using just the heavy attack button, heavy attack can only be used if "Melee" is the current weapon in hand.

So yes, this needs some attention, in some cases it breaks the fluidity of combat.

the mechanism for slams if you look at the ground already exists, shouldn´t be a big deal to implement it for heavy attack slams right?

it would be fine if you just hold E to perfom a heavy attack ground slam, there are many solutions i guess
