Open Call for Warframe Theme Ideas!

Recommended Posts

A nature themed Warframe (call it "Druid" for now) with ensnaring roots that can slow and apply poison that can spread using buffs like rapid growth which will enhance other buffs and proc ability interactions, passing over roots causes the roots to spread over the frame creating an armor buff that will diminish in effectiveness as it takes damage but can continuously regenerate until it is completely destroyed, this will synergize well with his passive which deals thorns damage to enemy's  that attack it as the thorns damage increases based on the total armor of the frame. Thorns can also effect allies who walk over the roots and will also gain the armor buff if Druid uses rapid growth while thorns is active.  Maybe bug swarms that can spread bleeds and poisons, healing effects. This is a big maybe but maybe the ult could be transform which would give it a few bestial forms that it could cycle through to give it different melee combos And damage types.

I think that some sort of vampire warframe would be cool. He/she would steal blood (HP) from enemies and maybe from other players. Also he/she should have some sort of healing ability if he/she missed and drained the blood of low HP ally.

except this exists, her name is Garuda. She does need a look over by DE as her Passive is very odd but really covers everything mentioned here.

Brigid:
Theme: Celtic goddess of Healing,  smithing(fire), and poetry

Main theme here for gameplay is an active support role that other games have, like mercy from overwatch, or the medic of tf2. Using the exalted you buff your allies or debuff enemies, sacrificing your own ability to deal damage to make your allies much better. Using an exalted weapon, allows you to change the elements that your allies get from the buff.

Obviously its a little similar to trinity, however it gives more options to people who want to play a support role.

Passive: Keening - on ally down, gain a signifigant defense buff of some sort.

Some potential abilities

Healing well - drop a healing well, the heals x/sec, doubles amount if players interact with it.

Forged in Fire - Brigid grants Heat Damage and Heat Resist, and armor to allies nearby.

Cleasing Poem - cleanses status effects on allies, replacing them with a damage buff for the type cleansed, or resistance buff.

Ultimate - Rod of Aclepius, exalted primary weapon . similar function of Javlok, ferrox, scourge. Targets allies or Enemies. Locks onto target, provides damage+damage resistance on allies, damages enemies and lowers resistance. alt-fire throws it for an aoe field that does effect to allies and enemies in the field. resistances lowered, damage provided based on elements on weapon.20caedb7abc5956bbe27267d68a7518e.jpg

Design would look something like this, but like a warframe. Keeping the long hair as small cables or something(although that might look like predator...)

Exalted weapon looks like a staff topped with fire, twin snakes entwined around it up the whole length.(maybe moving snakes)

subject to changes.

I would like to see a crippled warframe that inflicts it's suffering onto the enemies it faces.

[name] the beleaguered, the broken. The warframe endured and in enduring it grew strong, turning it's weakness into a weapon

I imagine them having no physical limb below the elbow on the left arm and the right leg, instead replaced with a void energy appendage. I imagine powers with names like phantom limb, crippling fatigue, weakness.

Kraiz
Kraiz ("Craze") is a frame based on going ham and being rewarded for doing so. His kit features short duration, high power buffs - and can potentially be VERY energy hungry. However - as a reward for going ham Kraiz' passive prolongs the duration of his buffs based on kills. Get it rolling and don't stop!

Passive: Bloodfrenzy
  • Kills increase buff duration by 0.75 seconds (does not work for Rolling Guard).
Ability 1: Gore (6s)
  • (Melee weapon equipped): Dash to the closest enemy and execute him. Gain a portion of his armor (maximum 1000). Nearby enemies are feared.
  • (Ranged weapon equipped): Headshots explode enemies, dealing 40% of their health in an area. (Damage does not scale).
Ability 2: Toggle
  • While active gain 60% fire rate and reload instantly, but lose 25 energy on reload.
Ability 3: (10s)
  • Melee attacks warp you to your target (30m range). Melee kills restore health.
  • Blast radius increased by 50%. Stagger immunity added.
Ability 4: (8s)
  • All melee attacks are finishers. Animation speed increased by 300%.
  • All semi automatic and burst weapons become automatic and gain 150% fire rate, but also 50% extra recoil.
  • Automatic weapons gain 33% fire rate 80% damage, but also 50% extra recoil.

I have thought this idea would have been an amazing idea, but a pack hunter warframe with a beast mode effect.

Name: Canowicakte (nmae in Native American means Forest Hunter)

Passive: increase affinity range for all member of your team by X. Additionally, when in beast form, increase health, shields, and armour by 10% of each ally within Canowicakte's affinity range.

Ability 1: "Pounce" 25 energy- Canowicakte leaps in a direction, grabbing the first enemy and damaging all enemies in his path. If Canowicakte hits a wall, he will perform a wall latch and can cast pounce again at a reduced energy cost for a short time.

Ability 2: "Ravage" 50 energy: Canowicakte grabs the nearest enemy to him, slashing the target with a flurry of claw strikes. If the target dies, Canowicakte heals himself for X health amd all allies near him in his affinity range by Y.

Ability 3: "Feral Growl" 50 energy: Canowicakte lets out a feral growl that buffs allies for X sec. Giving them increased movement speed and attack speed for the duration. Enemies near Canowicakte are stunned for a shorter duration.

Ability 4: "Feral Instincts" 25 energy (drains 10 a sec. while active, less per ally in his affinity range😞 Canowicakte unleashes their true, beastly form, entering a Kurbow/Kavat form. While in this state, Canowicakte loses acess to their weapons, but gains acess to Feral Claws (exalted melee beast claws). Canowicakte can equip companion mods to change his form (can have both Kubrow and Kavat mods equip, but will change to majority of mods form. Cannot equip link mods as that is his passive)

Beast Ability 1: "Pounce" 25 energy (less per ally in affinity range): Canowicakte leaps in a direction, stopping on the first enemy, dealing damage and restoring X health. If Canowicakte hits a wall, he can remain on the wall and roam around it for X sec., reducing Pounce's cost for a few sec.

Beast Ability 2: "Tracker" 25 energy (less per ally in affinity range): Canowicakte catches the sent of the Most dangerous enemy within X range (example: normal grineer grunt is low threat while Heavy Gunner, Nox and Bombards are high threat, etc.) marking the target, causing them to take increased damage for X duration. If the target dies, allies gain a damage buff against that target's enemy type for Y sec.

Beast Ability 3: "Beastly Growl" 25 energy (less per ally in affinity range): Canowicakte releases a beastly growl, stunning enemies for X sec., when the effect ends, any surviving enemys will be deafed for Y sec. and forget who they were attacking.

Beast Ability 4: "Restore Humanity" 0 energy cost: revert Canowicakte to his warframe form.

I would love a Frame who is complete out of Elektro Type.  Like a Living Lighting Bolt.

Ability 1 : Lighting Bolt (Attack the Target with a Single lighting Bolt and it jumps to 3 more Enemies around)

Ability 2 : Lighting Flash (A Lighting Strike smashes on the Ground and blinding the Enemies for a Few Seconds)

Ability 3 : Lighting Shield (Give the Player and when Targeted the other Frames a powerfil Shield of Lighting what gives Lighting Damage when hit by Enemies)

Ability 4 :Ball Lighting  Cast a Ball Lighting (Kugelblitz) infront of the Player and it Jumps like a Ball into the Enemies and goes away (Think like a rubber Ball)

So you two want nekros again.

Nekros has an ability to summon killed units.A sumoner frame would have 3/4 Custom summon units similar to Khora Venary but ,hopefully,it will be much better.

Grappler/Brawler

A Frame who jumps to his enemies plunging his fist I to their stomachs using them as a meat shield or a projectile. Or absorbing their life force to make his power greater, even overflowing if need be. And whenever wanting he would unleash his power onto his enemies with the force maybe equal to the gods themselves.

I'd like to see a Heavy Mythril style frame, something that just 100% came out of pure high fantasy with a slightly technological twist.

Hard to say its stats ATM with the armor rebalance, but it would be focused on tanking and being a frontline fighter.

Have its abilities be:

Passive - all melee weapons have a +x% attack speed.  Ideally I'd say +10-20%

Protective blessing: buffs nearby party armor.  Sort of like a defensive area of effect buff, similar in function to Rhino's Roar or Valkyr's Warcry in mechanics, only with armor.  Level up stages go from 15~30%

Swarm: An AOE attack.  An infested swarm causes Toxin damage to the surrounding area.  The idea for this is that it's a Wind magic spell, touched with a bit of Warframe lore.  Higher levels can also cause Corrosive damage, in reference to thunder and lightning (Toxin and Electricity cause Corrosive.)

Swiftness or summoned steed: not one I've entirely worked out the actual mechanics, but have the Frame able to reach teammates faster, especially those who are downed and need to be revived.  Having a summonable infested horse would be amazing, but a self-speed buff would be good too.

Summoned Blade: An Exalted Weapon, summons a 2 handed blade and grants the Frame an additional +10~20% attack speed, potentially a ~+15% melee attack bonus too.

One aspect I feel has been slightly overlooked is eastern mythology and creatures, right now all you have is wukong from Chinese mythology. What about shinto spirit creatures like a kitsune? Some of it's abilities could revolve around transformation and you could give it energy type tails for stat boosts, with the leveling up of the ability increasing the number of tails from 1, to 4, and possibly finally going to a Kyubi kitsune of nine tails. Also it would be interesting to see how far the animalistic idea could be pushed, instead of running normally like most frames, what if the running style were more on all fours? Just a small idea in a pool of many...looking forward to see who wins.

my Vulpinara is very much a variation on this 😋 great minds thinking alike

The Luck Frame

Not sure if this was covered but what about a luck base Warframe.

Debuff random chance
Causes weapons to jam or back fire

Enemies to trip and fall after 3-6 steps

Increase rate drop chances

Causes weak points

Buff random chart
Improved Crit chance
Improved status chance
Health & Energy gain
Accuracy up
Damage up

Charge your luck counter with ability 1

Luck counter with slowly deplete over time

The strength of the buff or debuff is based on power strength and the luck counter

Would rely on a luck counter like how nidus has stacks

Ability 1
Deal damage by thowing a card at enemies. Charged throws cause explosions

Ability 2
All attack you make give enemies a random debuff (see chart)

Ability 3
Select a buff you and Allies in range of you gain that buff

Ability 4
Create a bubble that will give Allies a random buff (that will change everything 3-5 seconds) and give enemies a permanent random debuff (see chart).

Passive
Up to 70% chance to ignore damage you would receive at anytime based on currently accumulated luck.

Still proof of concept if interesting please tweak as needed

Was thinking of a Gambit style look or an old wester gambling gal.

Warframe is based on threads.

The case is made of metal threads. Jewelry made of cotton, silk and gilded threads. The energy passes through the fiberglass threads.

Made by a tailor who creates the perfect, perfect Orokin clothing both externally and structurally. And as a true Creator, the tailor gave his whole body and soul to this model of Orokin perfection, and in a literal sense .

entangled in the threads-grab, drag and finish, or throw at others (aim at the enemy), or fasten yourself (aim at the surface)

Changing the - role the Orokin doll (Warframe) has become a puppeteer and manages enemies as allies (holding a position or following them)

A thin thread is a weapon called a whip consisting of
1) the handle is made of gold threads
2) a thin but strong thread that acts as a binding handle with a counterweight and is the cutting part of the whip
3) created from strong metal threads counterweight at the end of the whip

The punishment of the Creator-the one who gave the body to his creativity, manifests itself from it and punishes anyone who even slightly spoiled it.

a warframe based on rain and storms! kinda like hydroid with the water theme, but instead of the ocean and pirates, it's all about tempests and thunder and lightning and dark storm clouds! it could be a little similar to all the other warframes, but I dunno, I've always dreamed of having a rain based warframe!
