Open Call for Warframe Theme Ideas!

A warframe that makes use of companion-esque abilities, they can summon flying healers or dps beasts. A beast master frame could then make use of their beasts as worn items in the form of exalted weaponry that have some sort of assisting features like aim, crits, or strength.

Dolos

Based on the Greek God of trickery, cunning deception, craftiness, guile, and treachery. The God was known for being able to teleport around. Base the frame off the idea of being able to utlize a blink for mobility with a passive that increases its damage and damage reduction the more it blinks.

I think a frame like this caters well to the fast paced action of Warframe and would give veteran and new players a fun mechanic to create a new layer to the combat experience.

POSTED IN THE WRONG THREAD SORRY: Here's my idea for a Warframe I've wanted to see in the game for a while: A Horseman Warframe. Bulky, brutish and barbaric looking. Summons a mount from a portal of void flames off ground beneath him. Both horse and rider racked to the brim with spiked armor, helmets adorned with horns that impale and intimidate, patterns engraved into arms as symbols of strength. A blazing mane cutting through the air at breakneck speeds like a flag in the wind. A king amongst barbarians and it's brackish mount trample through legions of enemies until they are reduced to mountains of corpses. Heads under hooves. Necks under axes.

In the days of the Orokin Empire, the Orokin executors deployed automatons to patrol and forcefully ensure the delivery of betrayers, yuvans, and slaves alike. Pseudo prototypes of the Warframes, incorporating living metal bio mechanical machines with no soul and singular driven purposes to obey their creators. When the tenno rose up to slaughter the Orokin, one of the children of the zariman hijacked these golden mounts. Their Oro was segmented into two parts, the rider and it's steed. Driven bloodmad and rageful, it lashed out at the executors, Leading the charge against the once powerful Orokin. Liberated from the chains and bridles of the golden lords, It swore revenge on them for long hard endured battles with the sentients. Some say it manifests through the void, riding into our reality to claim the souls of the wicked.

I understand that abilities will be considered later. But Most of his moves would focus on corraling enemies and using a meter to redistribute damage done to enemies as squad health. Dragging enemies behind on spectral chains while the horse moves and flinging them around in an AOE ragdoll once the horse stops. Trampling enemies to deal damage to them. Two more spectral horses spawn in paths that arc off the rider and leaves paths of flame. Once they complete the arc, they fuse back into the rider pulling enemies ragdoll style into you. An Exalted Axe that creates a second meter to redistribute more damage as health. His kit isn't about going fast, moreso acting as a target for enemies and using attacks to heal teamates. Ideally, his diversion and movement would incentivize teamates to shoot around you as you pull in, knockdown and stagger your enemies.

A good all rounder frame that can heal, CC and tank.

I think a multi-armed guanyin Buddha type Warframe that's all about up close and personal combat. Maybe with an 1000 armed ultimate ability strike or something.

Sealing/sealed frame
powers that prevent the use of specific enemy abilities (example: inability to fire guns, but not disarming, inability to reload, prohibiting movement, but still allowing shooting, etc.)
had its power partially sealed, which can be undone temporarily as an ability

I think that it would be interesting to explore the duality mechanics more. Maybe a warframe that has an offense and defense mode. In defense it becomes large and clunky, very slow but near invulnerable with heavy support aoe abilities, then switching to a condensed assault mode with abilities that revolve around speed and agility. Think a switch between a giant iron maiden and an ocelot.

A dinosaur theme would be cool, you could even get the parts from excavations on earth. You could even make Dino themed infected if you really wanted.

A Beast Warframe like Equnox he can transform from Warframe form to Warbeast form like a Werewolf.

Warfame form and Beast both have separate abilitys.

The Name you change if you want to mine is lykos greek name for wolf

If you happen to choose this im am honored.

But I think that my idea is just going to be looked over

I would like to see a summoner frame. We’ve got a lot of friends in the origin system and I’d like to be able to summon Syndicate commandos, Ostron rangers, Solaran saboteurs, synthesized specters, Kubrodon and Condroc harassers, Lich-on-demand, and maybe even a Quill or two. Of course it assumes that the summon would have the firepower to be worth summoning and the AI would be aggressive/not-lobotomized.

Hello, I have an idea:


It would be a Warframe half tank half support based on the armor rate that I will call Mantida. This Warframe has a metallic / steampunk style. His abilities would consume his own armor. Just like Ember which has an indicator with its immolation, Mantida would have an armor indicator so that you can see at any time how much armor you have.


Passive ability:


Gain x% armor on each enemy killed (with an animation of metal plates which come to consolidate Mantida) (stackable to a maximum amount of armor) (Heavy Units such as Greener Bombard give more armor to Mantida than light ones ).


1st ability which consumes x% of armor then lasts x seconds:


Create a sphere (the same as the 2nd ability) on a chosen enemy. When the enemy tries to shoot on a player, the projectiles will ricochet inside the sphere, on the hanging metal plates. This power can be used on x enemies.


An Augment mod would be provided to ensure that the projectiles of the players can also ricochet in the sphere, seeing their damage increased.


2nd ability that consumes x% armor:


Create a protective sphere (with an animation of metal plates revolving around the player) around a chosen player (or yourself) (the range is influenced by the ability range) which collects x% of the damage suffered and which have x% if armor (the armor or the sphere being influenced by the rate of armor of Mantida and the HP being influenced by the ability strengh).


An augment mod would be planned to be able to target up to 3 players.


On second activation that consumes x% armor:


Detonates the sphere, creating an explosion of the metal plates in shrapnel, inflicting zone damage, including x% of perforation damage, knocking down and stunning enemies within range (x being influenced by the ability strength and the armor of Mantida) (the explosion zone being influenced by the ability range of Mantida).


3rd ability that consumes x% of armor then drains x% per second:


Increases each player damage within range by x% (x being influenced by Mantida's armor rate) (range being influenced by Mantida's ability range).


4th ability which consumes x% of armor then drains x% per second (exponentially):


Transforms Mantida into a storm of pieces-of shrapnel (with an animation that disassembles yourself and begins to spin) that inflict x% damage of puncture per second (x being influenced by power strength and armor of Mantida) (the area of the storm being influenced by the ability range of Mantida). The storm grows exponentially and consumes armor exponentially while pressing the key. On second activation the storm stops and Mantida recompose himself.


An augment mod would be planned to attract enemies in the storm since when we kill an enemy it gives us armor.

Warframe themed as spider, stealthy with decent mobility, some cc and bit of dmg

Slim frame with slightly longer than average arms with 3 pointy fingers and 2 pairs of small spider legs on back maybe signature syandana or something like kora basic spikes syandana, face covered in some kind of cloth with alternative helm that reveals spider like fangs on face 

my name idea is Aranea/Arachnid

passive: invisible on wall latch and can freely move on flat walls, permament higher holster speed cos... ur the spider u have more limbs kek 

1st skill webspray

when clicked sprays web in cone and slows enemies while dealing some dmg

when held grapple yourself to wall or enemy covering them in web, when grapling wall u have 2x wall latch time \

free cast while invisible

2nd skill predator's mark

u mark an enemy, marked enemy takes slightly amplified dmg, when enemy dies poisonus cloud is released dealing small % of enemy max hp per second and apllying viral status

free cast on enemies stunned with ur web

3rd skill cocoon 

u cover yourself in web making u unable to attack and move while regenarating some hp, u aplly web debuff to close enemies, uses moderate amount of energy every second, can be reused to deactivate, when u take of cocoon u cant have shield for x amount of seconds 

4th skill brood mother

u shoot web on every enemy in line of sight and grapple them in ur direction, every enemy grabbed gives u small melee speed and fire rate buff + some toxic/viral on all attacks, every enemy killed while abillity is active regenerates small amount of energy and spawns 1 spider (maybe retextured nidus maggot) when abillity is channeled u cant perform parkour moves, takes energy only on initial cast 

Well as signature weapon i see some kind of acid spitter secondary/primary doesn't matter, but as melee i see claws with slightly longer range than venka/ripkas puncture + toxin/viral based with no impact and decent slash, full hybrid stats i think 20/20 would've been good with ~ 2.2x cd, synergy between this weapon and frame = slightly faster attack speed, holster rate and changed heavy attack, maybe some kind of stun or aoe slow

A long time ago I designed a concept for a gambler, poker player Warframe with a elegant appearance reminding of a croupier and the Vodou deity figure Baron Samedi. His theme involves around casino and gambling games.

Ludo decrees his game through the battlefield and manipulates his foes by changing the deal. He decides who win and who lose as he is the only game and his foes his players.He is damage dealing type but also a buffer and looter Warframe. 

His main mechanic is the "Gambling", which is around his reserve of his Fortune tokens, which can be used to buff his own abilities or to multiply ressources at the end of the mission. Ludo can earn Fortune tokens by killing ennemies with his first ability. One token increase his power strength (or duration, range, efficiency ...) by 0.5% for his next second, third and fourth ability cast but one Fortune token will be spend. Fortune token which were kept at the end of mission will multiply the amount of ressources looted for the whole squad, one token will increase the ressources multiplier by 1%. 

His first ability is "Heads or Tails" : Ludo throws his deadly coin through the battlefield. If the coin hit an enemy, this enemy will be marked by a Heads' debuff (which can increase damage received) and his death will add one Fortune token to Ludo's reserve. If the coin hit an ally, the ally will be marked by a Tails' buff (which can increase damage dealt). During the duration of the Tails' buff, each enemies killed by the ally will add one token to Ludo's reserve. 

His second ability is "Surprise Dice" : Ludo throws a dice that bounces once and explode after the dice hit the ground. It is just a simply straight-forward AoE damage ability but it deals a random damage type between Magnetic, Gas, Blast, Corrosive, Radiation and Viral (like a regular dice with 6 faces).

His third ability is "Wheel of Fortune" : Ludo create a circle around him with a large razor-shaped needle that deal slash damage as it spins inside. Each enemies killed by the Wheel of Fortune will drop additional loot.

His fourth ability is "Cards of Fate" and it is the exalted weapon of Ludo : he summons a 52 cards deck that can be used as a throwing projectile secondary weapon. Ludo can switch between 4 "magazines" of 13 cards : Spades, Diamond, Club and Heart. Each families of cards grant an radial buff to allies.

Ludo has also a backstory called the Fortune of Ludo :

The Qilin is a legendary creature who used to be hunted by the Orokin because legends says that his red scarlet fur and the golden horns are symbol of power and prosperity. Tired of this hunt, the Qilin concludes a pact with his only and trusted friend Ludo, a mysterious gambler. The gambler is a researcher who works in probability and exploits his own works into game and gamble. He is hated by most of his kind because of his talent to play and his arrogant personality. Some rumors says his success come from the blessing of the Qilin, and the gambler try to protect the creature. The Orokin decide to kill him. Hurt by the loss of his friend, the Qilin escaped in a Void fissure located in the Plains of Eidolon. The Quest suggests the player to search and help the Qilin to find the tomb of Ludo in order to mourn the death of his friend.

I like this Idea but if not Ghost more like a Horror Alien. With like abilities to cling on to ceilings and to pull enemies out of a crowd without alerting the rest.

Theres alot of awesome ideas in here, the only theme I can think of is an explosive themed warframe.  Essentially a walking bomb.  

Even thought of a name or 2, "Bakudan" or "Kaku".

A while ago I posted a concept for a Warframe that, when the player goes into operator form, detaches parts of itself that hover around the operator and increase the power of the various operator skills (void beam, void blast, etc.): https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1148093-illustrated-concept-vajra-a-warframe-that-makes-the-operator-stronger/ . Essentially, it's a warframe whose purpose is to make the operator stronger.

I made it through 20 pages, but noticed the thread reached 170... so... rather than seeing if anyone else would suggest my idea, I'll just put it forward now:

A Melee specialist. Augments melee attacks with his abilities.
Can only wield melee weapons in all 3 slots.
Forces all enemies to fight him on his terms, enforcing a melee battlefield around him (protected from ranged attacks).

Theme based around Shiva, the multi-armed dancing warrior (Dances of Creation and Destruction fit well to be abilities) and the dual-wielding fighting styles of India. His extra energy-arms could be statuesque - fixed in location, just holding the extra weapons, similar to Nidus Phryke's crossed energy arms - but not flat cardboard cut-outs like the syandana-arms of Nova?(I think it's nova) - with the exception a special animation during his ultimate, to make use of the arms in a combat move.

Visuals can include Mehndi body/clothing painting on hands/wrists/arms/chest, and depictions of Shiva with his blue-grey skin.

PS: Since this is the creation of a frame by committee, and it won't be a single person's vision, I know my theme likely wouldn't be picked over an Arachnid or Werewolf frame, popularity-wise, and Furion has a lot of fan support. Plus, people like guns I guess. I'm not sure I'd want my theme hijacked by the community and turned into some amalgamated thing that bears no resemblance to my full concept. This contest seems ill-conceived from the standpoint of a well-formulated, thematically sound, design.

Arachnid likely would be dismissed from a workload perspective, because most tilesets weren't created with such mobility in mind, some probably having out-of-bounds-volumes rather than actual geometric ceilings that can be interacted with. It would also have trouble with the Open World angle they're aiming for, since there are no walls or ceilings to take advantage of as a spider, unless she can make her own walls/ceilings from webs or something.

The Werewolf frame shares a multi-armed frame's issue: animating different limb configurations, so it can't just take the copy-pasted human body rigging that's already done. The Werewolf frame kinda gives future hints at the lore of there not really being a person in the suit... so there's that, but it's minor.

A Warframe that you can chose what abilities you can wield, you will only be allowed four of these abilities but you will have the choice of all warframe abilities. So choose carefully. Can use the back story of the unum as how these warframes came into being. You can also pick the frame to be male or female.

A high armor/"slower moving" disassembler. By removing parts of his body (at the cost of energy and or armor while gaining speed) he can do things that no other frame has the ability to do. Maybe different parts become different melee weapons because he can't use any other melee weapons. Or maybe said parts become tools to repair ships or defence targets. OH And Maybe His 4th Ability Is To Detonate Like A Bomb Which Forces The Player To Run Around As His Operator Until The Frame Reassembles It's Self While His Passive Ability Protects The Operator In Someway! Na, that's a little crazy. Means it couldn't even be played until the operator is unlocked. I'm just thinking something more versatile. Something that does more than just buff and kill. Maybe he does neither!
