Receiving invite while chat window is open forces you to decline the invite

If you have the chat window open, for instance if you have just finished sending a message, and you receive an invite, there is no way to accept the invite. Pressing 'Y' to accept it will instead trigger writing a new chat message; Pressing 'B' to close the chat window will instead decline the invitation. This is extremely frustrating when you are talking to someone specifically to group up with them, such as when recruiting or trading.

ZL closes the chat window, and you should be able to accept the invite

On XB1 if you hit accept on the mission invite, it does start a new message, but you can cancel out of that and it will still join the invite.  Is that not the case on NSW?

I’m having same problem on PS4. Hit the square button to accept an invite and it opens the chat message window and hitting o to come out if that declines invite. They really need to assign accept invite to a new button. Maybe R1?

did you know that L2 opens AND closes chat?
