That's only 2 areas in the game.

If you play a wide variety of content, you'll get to use every kind of travel.

Without the plains, where would Wisp and Nova travel flourish? Archwings, k drives?

Now if I'm on Sedna I might rock my 2.27 sprint loki for the hallways

I take your point that there's a place for everything, but an inordinate amount of my time in Warframe is split between these two planets these days.

Not to mention, as I said above, even the more traditional 'ship corridor' tilesets have undergone numerous re-works which have made them less wall running friendly.  As you have correctly identified: just sprinting is the way to go.
