Open Call for Warframe Ability Ideas!

I'd like to make the case for a passive that takes inspiration from one of the most popular and famous "Bug as a Feature" games, GunZ

Passive: Butterfly - The warframe dashes similar to Wisp and Hildryn instead of rolling during a dodge. During this, it also blocks with its melee weapon if it has one equipped. Using the dash while reloading or shooting will not interrupt these actions but will do a normal dodge roll. The frame's arms will detach and continue performing those actions, with void energy extending out to them to the rolling body. Bonus weapon swap speed when equipped with a shotgun or shotgun-like secondary. Shotguns deal additional damage to lifted enemies. (Summarized as: Frame can perform more actions while dodging. Has additional holster speed with shotguns. Shotguns deal more damage to lifted enemies. )

https://youtu.be/PqjwIzCXsik
How it looks in action:

Ability 1 - Invalid Pointer/Null Pointer/Void Pointer: Channeled ability that reduces your direct damage significantly while boosting the effectiveness of damage over time status effects significantly. All status effects are converted in to a random damage over time status. Can never inflict the correct status, so a pure fire attack will never inflict burn.

Ability 2 - Desynch: Uses void energy to split the existence of a target in two.
 * When used on an enemy, it ragdolls the original and punts them a short distance. The clone is ragdolled and shot sky-high. When the clone impacts a surface, it bounces then is tethered to the spot it lands after the bounce. If it goes too far or lands out of bounds, a tether pulls the clone back to its starting point. The clone shares any damage it receives with the original target, and can take damage over time from status effects even if the original target is immune to status. If used on a target that is excessively large or weird, it will have a generic ball model with generic placeholder textures.
        - Could also have a set box  the clone ragdoll can move around in if in an open space, looping to the other side if it hits the edge so it doesn't go too far.
 * When charged, it targets friendly characters, including stationary objectives. A portion of your health and shield is given to the target as bonus health/shield. You take a portion of the damage the target takes, in its place. This damage split will  deal reduced damage to you with ability efficiency, and mitigate more damage for the target with power strength. Cannot take more than the first half of your total health this way.

Ability 3 - Refrag: - Splits your health, shield, and overshield in to chunks of 100 placed in a random order. Only the first chunk of shield gets (full?) shield gating. Converts to defrag when used.
XCulAhA.png
Defrag: Drains energy to sort your health and shield back in to the correct state, recovering it in the process. Taking damage during this will generate overshield. Can be canceled early  to keep your HP in a semi-fragmented state. Does not change back to Refrag until completed.
 * Shield is moved to the right, health is moved to the left, and overshield is moved to the middle. The final 3 steps are Moving the shield to the far left, health to the far right, then overshield to the far left. So skilled use and timing of Defrag can leave you with overshield under your regular shield.
Animation would be that of the warframes parts/limbs being disconnected and spinning around the torso.

I'm seeing a lot of abilities based on the warframe dropping to pieces, which i think is cool. Have an ability that does that. An ability that turns dead bodies into armor, health or shields, based on what faction that enemy was from. An ability that can take enemies apart for a bit, dealing damage over time. A passive for summoning a warframe wraith upon a teammates death. And an ability to add an elemental damage type to your weapon based on what faction that enemy was from.

Since the frame is built from parts of other frames, why not just make it a build-a-frame where BP requires you to select built pieces that can already be farmed in the game.

Neuro- Ability 1 of used frame's part

Systems- Ability 2 of used frame's part

Chassis- Ability 3 of used frame's part

4th Ability- Something unique to the Warframe

This would make multiple possibilities and some might make multiple versions of the Warframe to try different combinations.

I would also let this frame be able to equip augments from the Warframes of the parts used.

1st ability - Shattered Armor: (Instant)
The warframe takes off a broken part of itself and launches it out at enemies and it bounces off a number of enemies before returning. The ability can have multiple instances going at once and have a slight stun when they hit an enemy. you could also make it so it looses a bit of armor when it throws out the attack.

2nd ability - Short (Instant but requires shield to work)

The warframe looses it's shields and becomes electrified, shocking nearby enemies for the duration of the ability. The damage of the ability can be effected by how much maximum shield the warframe has.

3rd ability - Pulse Out (Instant + Cooldown)

The warframe releases a large pulse of transference static that stuns nearby enemies for a moment before returning to the warframe, refilling a bit of it's health and/or shields based on the damage it has done

4th ability - Deconstruct (Channel)

The warframe splits apart and send shards of itself around doing high amount of damage to enemies and causing them to drop extra resources.

The warframe's passive could be the status effects it has on it can be triggered against enemies through it's abilities and the abilities themselves could cause minor status procs on the warframe, allowing for an interesting play of balancing damage taken to get a lot of status effects on yourself before releasing an ability to benefit from them.

Passive: Has increased all pet health, shield, and damage and comes with an exalted Pet that is separate from your regular pet.

1st ability: summon Exalted {Insert Pet} either permanent or 45-60 sec duration

2nd Ability Sic 'Em: causes Exalted pet to charge target enemy knocking down all enemies along the path. Also causes AOE damage when target enemy is hit.

3rd Ability Rout: Exalted pet howls or roars causing enemies in a certain range to flee and drop their weapons.

4th Ability: the warframe and the exalted pet rage out increasing damage between each other by 40-50% damage increase

1: void slash: unleashes tendrils of void energy, dealing damage to everyone in your field of view

2: absorb: lash onto enemies with void tendrils, leaching their health and healing you and your allies

3: Dimensional shield: use void energy to create a dimensional bubble that provides protection from enemy fire

4: Overload: The warframe causes an overload in void energy, causing it to explode and send out a shockwave of damage-dealing void energy. The warframe's different parts become shrapnel, further damaging the enemies.

Passive: the more energy the warframe gathers, the more health it gets (with the energy holding it together, i thought that energy could improve it's health). Can also convert converted health back to energy

Scramble - Passive - When Shields are destroyed, emit a wave of scrambling energy that temporarily disables nearby weapons. Shields must recharge fully before another scrambling wave can happen.

Disintegrate - Fire a chaotic blast of energy that reduces enemy accuracy and scrambles nearby enemy buffs. Enemies killed by Disintegrate turn into glitchy dust.

Collision Loss - Become untargetable and gain the ability to run though enemies. You cannot be shot at but you cannot shoot back. You may use Disintegrate and Overloading Charge while in this form.

Limbic Extension - Extend the tendrils your arms and legs, giving increased movement speed, melee speed and melee range, with an increased chance to stagger, disarm or knock down enemies on every hit. You also gain increased range when interacting with objects.

Overloading Charge - Plant white tendrils into the ground, gathering data of your surroundings. After a charge up period, unleash an explosion which deals elemental damage based on each enemy's type, adapting the element to target health, shields or armour. Surviving enemies have their shields and armour reduced.

This could be an incredible frame that breaks the mold. Allows for a lot of creative ideas.

1st idea

Passive: Collect parts from drops that accumulate to grant bonus health/armour. But loses health over time.

1. Overflow. This would be a toggle ability. It would grant random buffs that change as time goes on. Upon deactivation, a negative effect is applied. Scales with number of parts collected.

2. Reconfigure. Move parts around to switch between boosting shields, health, and armour

3. (Click) Take over. Shoot half of your collected parts at an enemy or ally. If it is an enemy, they will fight for you, albeit at a disadvantage but would take agro.

If it is an ally, they will receive the same buff as selected on your 2

3. (Hold) This would transfer the control from the current bucket o' bits to the latest ally/enemy taken over. If the ally is transferred to, you can act as a 3rd arm and can shoot from within your ally. If it is an enemy, you take control of them and can play as them. Both these would drain energy so you can't stay in forever.

4. Breaking Down. A channel that would rip components off enemies de-buffing their armour, health, shields at random. Increases your parts collected.

The idea here is that this warframe is breaking down, and needs to keep finding bits and bobs to keep it going.

2nd Idea:

This is the starting point of a new frame. You find this frame lying in some rubble, and find you can still transfer into it. Then you can rebuild it as you want. First modular frame?? Be pretty cool ngl.

Passive - unfair advantage

Because you are assembled from multiple parts, there is no coherent shape, enemy has trouble hitting you, giving natural % evasion.

1. Long range blast

Fire a projectile in front of you for x damage using orokin powers.

2. Function follows form

While active, when receiving a critical hit or dying, instead of dying you loose a limb. Different limbs can be recovered, each Limb lost gives different disadvantages (arm for accuracy or weapons available, legs for speed or jump)

3. One man's limb is another ones weapon

Throw your limb at an enemy for grenade like effect or other damage enhancing properties or to create allies where your body is stuck. Limb lost comes with above penalties.

4. The more the merrier

Unleashing your powers, dismantled enemy pieces in vicinity stick to you, forming a meat shield. This is a sustain ability working in a radius.

I think a beast type warframe would be nice. Ult makes him crawl on all fours as a dog or something. Something of a hunter.

Play as a revived fractured hunter. The broken warframe as people would call it.

Passive: Smells enemies in a certain radius revealing them through walls (while in beast form enemies in the radius are also frightened causing them to move slower and have less armor) only around 10 percent

Ability 1: Throw a tomahawk, if enemy is marked for prey the tomahawk releases a bark that deals AoE damage in a small radius. ( while in beast form the beast throws his exalted weapon with bark behind it instead of tomahawks that pierce through enemies that for each enemy it hits a chain of barks with a bigger radius that deals more damage for every consecutive bark.

Ability 2: Mark an enemy for prey ( if damaging a enemy as prey your attacks are amplified or do extra damage to that enemy ( while in beast form mark all in your smell radius instead of a single target) killing a marked enemy returns energy

Ability 3: Do A loud bark that staggers enemies setting them up for finishers (if used as in beast form staggers enemies into a stun and strip their armor but is now channeled into a howl that can staggers enemies in very other second still giving u time to take damage and enemies to get closer) if hitting a marked for prey sends enemies into a fear for 2 seconds but they can’t be feared again for 3 after the fear ends

Ability 4: Toggle into a beast like form or a dog and crawl in all fours, abilities while used in this form are amplified While also gaining extra damage and movement speed (the beast form uses a exalted weapon that count as a weapon to be modded as it’ll carry its very own special weapon in its mouth or hovering near by like a sword as it dashed past enemies quickly cutting them and it’ll block projectiles if possible. Similar to Okami from the video game series if u want a visionary of a beast with a sword floating near by( Finishers while in beast form is jumping on a enemies head gnawing at it roughly or slicing through the enemy )

Appearance: So the more energy the guy has the less deteriorated he looks less deteriorated with more hp which represents his duration. Read to understand. Main warframe form would be a look similar to a Viking( Vikings are ancient and broken sounds ancient but if the concept art must be used thats fine) scarred and has a Smokey/ icy aura coming from the fractures of cracks in his body from him to show he’s cold dead and broken just make him look fractured and broken. The more energy u posses the more amplified his cracks become revealing his fractures state and getting some pieces back to him. Similar to how nidus changes based off of his stacks. When going into beast form he Turns inside out showing his internal hollowness as a wolf. And resembles a very rough looking wolf with fractures here and there and scars. The Wolfe’s body isn’t held together perfectly for example it’s tail isn’t directly attached and it’s belly does not connect from half of the body. Showing a forever  amount of hunger as only the back bone is showing in that area to keep it together. It is missing as well as it’s front paw making it lean to foward on its ankle. All this to represent a broken frame even in wolf form. Beast form runs off of its own of instead of energy. The wolf is more built, meaning as it gets less hp it breaks down as the broken frame. But is more put together and regenerates its body with the more hp it has. There’s a hp drain as the cost but Killing enemies get back hp. Killing Marked for prey enemies give you more hp. So the ability runs on hp while using the other 3 abilities cost energy while even in wolf form. But it does cost energy to begin to use. So the more energy the guy has the less deteriorated he looks less deteriorated with more hp which represents his duration. More hp more time. Gotta keep your hp up. If killed as a wolf u return back to man form with how ever how much no u had before hand. Hp orbs only replenish 10 percent of the original form of the warframe if picked up as a wolf.

passive - upon consuming a wrapped enemy, arachne summons spiderlings that attack enemies and leave webs in their path

ability 1 - web: arachne spins a web that traps enemies upon which she can move freely, trapped enemies are stuck in place and vulnerable to arachne's second ability  (aoe surface effect, walls, floors, cieling)

ability 2 - wrap: arachne shoots a web projectile that wraps enemies up allowing them to be consumed. Enemies trapped in arachne's web take extra damage and sread their wrap when consumed

ability 3 - consume: arachne consumes a wrapped target activating one of 4 effects

vampire: arachne gains lifesteal

adrenaline: arachne gains increased movement and attack speed

eggs: arachne lays eggs inside her target, when the target dies it spawn multiple spiderlings that leave webs in their path and attack enemies

venom: the consumed corpse will leave behind a pool of venom. enemies walking through it take toxin damage and allies that walk through are granted extra toxin damage on their weapons

ability 4 - spider climb: arachne goes invisible and can climb on walls and ceilings freely. while active arachne's wrap ability instead pulls targets to her to be consumed automatically creating whichever effect is currently active.

passive: when fatally wounded will turn into heap of bones/body parts and will heal back 50% health (with cd)

1. Bonerang: will trhow a bone with tremendous force possibly ground the target (impact dmg; buffed with strength)

2. Cage: imprisons a group of enemies in a cage of bones making them unable to move outside (buffed with range and duration)

3. Skeletonstorm: create bones which will form a tornado around you protecting you from most of the dmg + dmg'ing enemies who dare enter (energy/s; buffed with strength, radius and duration)

4. Bonesaw: enemies in a area around will have broken bones, effectively crippling them and providing a heavy bleed effect and dmg (buffed with strength and radius)

it really gives off an undead vibe like a zombie or a skeleton so i went with the latter

I see some temporal distortion abilities (Volt speed) and temporo-spatial distortions (wisp sunray, limbo) but very few pure spatial distortions. A possible passive would be to reduce effective distance between subject and target for improved weapon fall-off distance.

Adjust 'sideways' distance between subject and target to cause decreased accuracy.

Adjust vertical distance for increased jump.

Twist space immediately to the rear for reduced projectile damage to rear and sides.

Flat-out rend space in area (probable nuke 4 ability)

Passive ability shield error the shield of this frame can have any capacity (1 to 1,000,000) and this number will change if it takes damage or is depleted.

Ability 1 Neurax: the frame launches some part from inside it at the target this has the corosive effect.

Ability 2 Not responding: the shield explodes doing damage based on its capacity and the shield will recharge 4 times as fast.

Ability 3 Uck Gross: the frame dissasembles and travels x distance towards the cursor dealing x damage to EVERYTHING in the way (teammates enemies cover objects people being guarded) this has the corosive attribute.

Ability 4 Random: this is a random ability from any other warframe.

1 ability

Phase into an enemy and control that enemy until dead, or ability deactivates.

2 ability

Phase through walls and "break" them. When you hit an enemy with this ability it take slash and blunt damage from pieces of the wall you phased through.

3 ability

Pull up the floor into shield that absorbs all damage, deactivate to release the floor and damage in a radial explosion.

4 ability

Highlight enemies through objects. All weapons then can be shot through walls to hit them, like aimbot.

Passive

Tapping Sprint (to roll) shifts your character's form and changes him to another warframe's appearance. You then get half that warframe's passive.

Fair enough, let's see what I can turn up with off the top of my head.

Frame is Broken, so why not make use of broken parts? Use them as 'totems' for the abilities, where the abilities are strong enough to function as they are, but with broken parts scattered around they become more capable of affecting the battlefield.

Passive: Re/Cycle I can... make use... of this...

Casting your Abilities has a 10% chance to refund the Energy cost.

1. De/Construct. The first thing... I learned... was how to put myself... back together...

Tap 1 to break off a Part of the Warframe and leave it behind, will deal a small amount of damage to any enemy it directly hits, up to 3 Parts can be broken off at any time. Hold 1 to recall all broken Parts, since Parts cannot be placed in a new location until they have been recalled.

Broken Parts will emit pulses every second that pull enemies towards them. Does not interrupt enemy attacks or animations.

Parts will have synergy with other abilities.

2. Re/Pulse. My body... broken... is stronger.

Emit a wave of paralysing energy in a small radius. Enemies in range are stunned and disoriented for several seconds.

Synergy: Any broken Parts will also emit this wave of energy. If no Parts are broken off, Re/Pulse gains 50% Duration.

Synergy: Enemies stunned by Re/Pulse will take bonus damage from all sources, and double damage from En/Counter

3. En/Counter. This is my... strength.

Strike all enemies in a small radius with an explosion of energy dealing high base damage. Surviving enemies will suffer a Radiation Status.

Synergy: Broken parts will also emit the radial damage explosion at 50% Strength. If no Parts are broken off, En/Counter gains 50% Ability Strength.

Synergy: Enemies stunned by Re/Pulse take bonus damage.

4. Con/Serve. I will... endure.

Project a protective barrier in a small radius that reduces all incoming damage. Drains energy over time to maintain high Damage Reduction. Allies in range of Con/Serve gain its effects.

End the ability to emit a pulse of Health that will heal all affected allies and companions in range for a proportion of the damage taken while the ability was active.

Synergy: Broken Parts will also emit both the protective field and the Health pulse on deactivation. If no Parts are broken off, Ability gains 50% Range.

Passive: stock part: for every enemy killed with assimilation, a stockpile point is added to the warframe, each point slightly increases the size, speed, and power of the warframe.

Ability 1: assimilation: the warframe’s body dismantles, creating a tornado like attack that sucks in enemies dealing damage.

Ability 2: body shot: the warframe sacrifices a stockpile point and shoots a shard of itself out of its chest dealing damage to an enemy.

Ability 3: One for the team: the warframe sacrifices 2 stockpile points and grants health and shield to itself, and the entire team. For each team player missing from a squad can grant a slight bonus to the ability for the user.

Ability 4: Dust you shall return: The warframe sacrifices all of its stock points, creating an explosion around it dealing massive damage.

Passive: Energy/health are from one source. So using abilities would draw away energy from the same source that your health comes from. One colored bar that would represent both the energy and the health of the frame. So in theory it could be dangerous to play this Warframe if you're not careful with how you spend your ability energy. IE 4000/4000 would include the health/energy all in one. Use 50 energy for an ability so now you would have 3950/4000 left as health/energy. Hope this makes sense.

I don't have any ideas for abilities. Only an idea for the passive. Have to re-post this as I did not follow directions from the first place. Reading is hard.

Passive: unable to bullet jump and walks slowly and  menacingly. Enemies will commit suicide if broken Warframe is 2 meters or closer and the thrill factor is high enough.

1. Uncontrollable power. Warframes gaze is a toggle when on enemies that look into his gaze will become scared try flee or stand still in pure horror.

2. Shadow weave. When enemies back is turned on broken Warframe he is able to instantly teleport behind them for a portion of his thrill fact to go up. Enemies you appear behind will die but still leave behind a shadow. This shadow will remain for 20 minutes and keep warfame invisible. But also act like an anchor or teleporting ability.

3. Kuva. This Warframe has kuva cloud poor out his body. The clouds spread and don't just damage enemies but act similar to radiation and make enimies attack anyone the come into contact with.  The cloud are highly flammable can be blown up with fire. Or so thick that lighting can chain in the clouds.

4. Unleashed evil. Warframes true power becomes unleashed his body radiation damages nearby enemies per second  and his other abilities gain more range and power.
