Recover the engine cowling with broke war only or something viable at mr6

I’m trying to build my railjack but them dang sentients get in my way and even if I take down one the battalyst usually kills me ps I am a Terrible shot so I melee everything

The adaptive defenses on sentient enemies are reset by using operator abilities such as Void Blast or Amp damage. So if you feel like you don't do any damage, use your operator to reset the defenses then kill them.

To be perfectly honest, at MR6 you probably aren't well equipped to fight sentients in the Veil, but you can try. It's better to shoot them from a distance though, exactly for the reason you've mentioned. Try getting a primary weapon with good DPS, a sniper or a shotgun maybe. It's not easy to aim with a controller, but with practice, you'll get better! I don't know if the joy-con's motion control can be used to aim in Warframe, but if yes, you're already at a better place than people playing on the PS4 and XB1.

Play the quest The Sacrifice. Even if you don't have an Amp, Umbra's Radiant Howl resets Sentient resistances. If you don't want to do that either, base Excalibur's Exalted Blade is usually enough to deal with sentients from quests.
