TennoCon 2020 Digital Event being moved to August 1st.

2020 is a year full of change. We went from moving our Fifth TennoCon from a physical to Digital event, and now we’re going one step further and moving Digital Tennocon to August 1st. The reasons we are doing this are very important, so please take a moment to not only adjust your calendars, but review our reasons why we are moving it:

1) It’s a Digital Event - we can give ourselves the time we need.

It’s been a turbulent year! COVID has forced us to adapt to new work from home development realities (and the obstacles that come with that!) and we’ve also had to make changes to our TennoCon plan so we can do it remotely. Because of this, we’ve had to make the tough decision to move TennoCon to later this summer. This will give us the time to make sure we can put on an awesome show - and deliver the magic of TennoCon - to our community worldwide!

2) We have a history with dates and ambition.

As recently as last year, we had immovable dates that put us in less than ideal situations for the game. We are making this choice using our past experience to guide us. We have a lot of Buried Debts in terms of ideas we’ve shown (but not shipped), and we want our TennoCon 2020 presentation to be an unmistakable reveal of what you see is what you get. We don't want to show a demo and release something months and months later. We want to ship what we show (when it's ready, of course)!

As for Baro, he’ll be making a second visit in this new date window. We will be honoring the first visit, and simply adding a second!

We will see you on August 1st  for an amazing day online. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Seeing how everything is evolving, I find this a good decision. Also it's great to see you honor the Baro dates instead of moving it to August and call it a day.

Hopefully you guys can access the facilities, even if gradually, by then and can showcase whatever it is in a better shape than otherwise 🙂

Have a nice summer! 😄

Perfectly reasonable. Looking forward to August and for what's shown to reflect what we'll actually get.

Please no more Liches in space, Railjack in Orb Vallis, Squad Link in the Plains of Eidolon, or any other "theoretical concept" that is not ultimately what ships.

Looking forward to this.

Oh, and please consider to not show any "faked" Gameplay like the RJ fiasco again. At least thats what I hope for you guys and your rep & future of the game.

Probably a wise decision under the circumstances. Does this mean there will be at least one more home devstream before TennoCon? You had said before that there would not be any more until TennoCon, but with the date moved out a few weeks it will be a pretty long gap now.

Hey DE, Thank you so much for the Deadlock protocol update, the quest is so deep, and the soundtracks are so good, which is something the Jovian concord was missing, Wisp is still the best frame to me, but the way it was shipped was meaningless, It would be cool if you consider adding some significant quest to it like Protea, Again its so good to see you guys finally taking action, I will be playing your game until the end ! Thank you so much ... and Yes ! the new Jackal fight is so badass ! waiting for the next boss rework ! See you in august guys !

This is really good news. Delaying TennoCon to get stuff ready to show and closer to ship is all I wish for this event to be. If the Deadlock Protocol update is any indication of the quality DE's aiming for, I'm excited for what will come next. Nice to see Steve talk a bit 🙂

I would also like to know.

So less show and hype, more hype and release? Best thing I heard from DE all year.

Even if you end up not releasing whatever you have planned for Tennocon it's also fine if it's a while later than the event. So long as the release isn't 1-2 years later and completely changed from what was initially hyped, that is.

Keep doing your great work! 😄
