29.3.2 Garuda's Talons and Exalted melee still broken

...Except they're actually not attached to her. Her regulators have their own separate model and this is proved with Mesa's deluxe bundle being the only way to change their appearance. (and the fact that they're separately customizable in the first place)

Hence the Tennogen submitted by the community not having those guns included either.

P.S: Happy 100th post of this thread.

And yet they are still attached to her model's arms at all times. You are honestly going to sit and argue if the pistols literally attached to her arms are attached because they have their own model? It's whatever. See you when her prime comes out in a few years and this is still the same way because the game treats garuda's talons as an exalted. No point in arguing with people about it.

While people keep going on about are they attached or not, none of that matters. The community can call them exalted all they like, but the fact is they don't act like exalted weapons at all.

Settling this once and for all.

All exalted weapons come from the use of an ability.

  • This one is debatable for Garuda's Talons. No other exalted weapon comes from a passive, so there might be wiggle room on this one. But a a moot point as this is the only tangible thing that makes them like other exalted weapons.

All exalted weapons drain energy when in use, either sheathed or not.

  • Garuda's Talons do not drain energy when equipped ever.

All exalted weapons benefit from power strength.

  • Garuda's Talons do not benefit from power strength.

No exalted weapon can equip acolyte mods.

  • Garuda's talons can equip all acolyte mods. Garuda's Talons still benefit form Maiming Strike and Body Count when equipped, and up till 27.5.4 benefited from Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds. Note they can still equip Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds with no effect.

All exalted weapons are useless against enemies immune to powers (arbitration drones).

  • Garuda's Talons can effect power immune enemies like any other regular weapon.

All exalted weapons replace your existing weapon for that slot while in use.

  • Garuda's Talons are the opposite of this. With a regular melee equipped Garuda's Talons are not usable at all.

The term exalted weapons is a community made term. DE might have embraced the term as game jargon, but it's still not an official term. Even if the term exalted weapon is loosened to include Garuda's Talons they still act more along the lines of regular melees than exalted weapons. The fact that they were originally intended to be exalted weapons but were changed later in development could point to the spaghetti code that caused them to break at the same time the Gladiator set bonus broke for actual exalted melees.

Edit: And it doesn't really matter if they are exalted or not. If they are not then the Gladiator set bonus, Blood Rush, and Weeping Wounds are broken on them. If they are then the Gladiator set bonus is still broken on them.

I am here to interrupt this argument to announce:

WEEK 16 HAS ARRIVED.

No word on if its intended or a bug.

rito DE pls.

it can't not be a bug.

it can't be intended that you can equip certain mods on this weapon but they don't work.

even if they say that specifically this is what is intended, which would be ludicrous, it will objectively still be a bug, and no talking around it will make it go away.

so it's not about getting their declarative statement on this. it's about the bug getting fixed.

Gladiator Mods from Deconstructor (Helios) works on Atlas and Khora's abilities. Gladiator Mods equipped by weapons "SUPPOSEDLY" benefit exalted weapons such as baruuk's desert wind, wukong's iron staff, valkyr's hysteria, and excalibur's exalted blade. If any patch did cause a bug that makes gladiator mods not work on the 4 exalted weapons, then it's a bug in the Gladiator mod interaction with exalted weapons in general. But the kicker here is that it doesn't work with wukong and excal but works with baruuk and valkyr. What I do with baruuk/valkyr is I build combo on the weapon with the gladiator mods then use the exalted weapon. Excal and Wukong however gets nothing with this method or just building stacks through their combo. If they make this a feature, they should just buff Excal and Wukong's crit at least (or allow us to use other stance mods or create a mechanic where each hit increases melee damage/crit chance by a little) . These weapons cost energy to cast and maintain and they are worse than most melees making them useless.

If it'll get fixed by the time Garuda prime comes out, I'll be happy.

if my calculation are correct it would be around 16-19 month untill her prime come out so 16 month for a simple bug that must be nice.

The game doesnt treat Garuda's talons as Exalted Weapon, you want prove aside from what DovaCannon mention above here is some additional it doesnt have Exalted stance. which is every exalted weapon have according to Update_27_Hotfix_27.4.3.

Stance Forma is now eligible to be installed on Garuda’s Talons due to the Talons using standard Stance Mods instead of an Exalted Stance.

But anyway if it can not work with those mod then it should not able to equip those mod then it a bug, if it suppose to work with those mod and the mod have no effect it a bug. And bug suppose to be fix

and also when release her Talon is refer as a Weapon Exclusive to her like a fun gimmick not as an Exalted weapon

That’s not true. Since her Release, Garuda couldn’t use her Talons in MR Tests, or Weapon Only Sorties and guess what Sorties other Exalted Weapon Frames could use? Even though it got Mods and Stance of a normal Melee, it’s still coded as a Exalted Weapon.

so this just mean they did not treat her talon as a normal melee weapon and it doesnt mean her talon is exalted, with your argument i can say her talon is not Exalted either since well above

It doesn't matter how Garuda's Talons are coded, in gameplay they are not exalted weapons. And that still doesn't matter, even if they are exalted they are still bugged. Please stop talking about this in a bug report thread.

^

Exalted or not, her talons previously could use Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds, and had benefits from the Gladiator mod set. Currently none of these are affecting them. There is an issue with her talons, period.

Lol bro, dunno if you ya'll saw in the 28.0.1 thread but someone pinged DE Megan about the talons. Radio silence on that 16 week bug, but one page later someone complained about a glitch with the fish blueprint reward in Deimos and she replied to them almost immediately saying they're working on it. This is peak DE.

Yep, every single hotfix thread I've been pinging whoever posted them trying to get an answer. They gotta answer sometime, right? Right?? Right ;_;

Rejoice ! If you keep pinging DE every single hotfix for them to take a look at Garuda's issues, maybe your great grandchildren will get to enjoy a fixed Garuda. If you do it hard enough, your grandchildren might be still alive to see this happen.
That is until, they break her again with another update.
This is what they all meant when they said that we must fight for a better future, if not for ourselves then for those that will come after us.
Seriously though, I've been lurking this thread for a while now and I'm convinced at this point it's more about perseverance and never stopping to struggle even against impossible odds than mere bugfixing.

Oh boy here I go getting ignored in the patch notes thread again.

Literally all they have to do is say "this is intended" or "this is a bug" and we'll shut up, but I guess they love our tears or something.

I can't wait for them to dismiss it as "oh yeah, this is totally intended" as if allowing an already poor weapon with no access to Riven mods to not be complete trash was actually the bug all along.
