Velocitus - punch-through bugged

Tests:

1) 2 grineer. Shot goes through 1st. Hits 2nd. Damage is moderately reduced.
2) 4 grineer. Shot goes through 1st. misses the 2 closest and hits the 4th grineer at the end. 4th received Damage almost exactly the same as the 1st. 2nd and 3rd received no damage.
3) 2 grineer. Headshot. 1st dies. 2nd receives 99% damage, survives. Moving further away from the target causes the 2nd grineer to receive no damage.
4) 4 grineer. Headshot. 1st dies. 2nd and 3rd receive no damage. 4th receives moderate damage.
5) 2 grineer. Targets further apart. Both receive equal body damage.
6) Punch-through does NOT work through all obstacles/meshes. Shooting through the pillars works. Shooting through the big box under the spawn doesn't allow the projectile to pass through.
Similar situations with every map in the game. Certain meshes do not allow projectiles to pass through regardless of Velocitus having "infinite" punch-through.

the only explanations i can think of are... 

*The accuracy re-rolls every time the shot goes through 1 enemy causing the projectile to have a left-right curve. (basically like the gunfights in the movie Wanted)
*The punch-through isn't punch-through. It spawns? a second projectile from the 1st grineer on hit, copying the trajectory of the first projectile but it spawns past any collision meshes/obstacles in front of the first projectile causing it to miss 2nd and 3rd grineer. (i don't even know. This sounds like a flat earth theory)
*Punch-through is distance dependent because the projectile moves too fast causing it to glitch through 2nd and 3rd grineer.
