Shouldn't Grineer cybernetics be vulnerable to magnetic damage?

In real life, lots of implants (e.g. pacemakers, catheters, cochlear implants) have problems with strong magnetic fields (such as MRI). Given how Grineer rely heavily on cybernetics to patch up their decaying bodies, you'd think a strong magnet would really mess them up. Especially the Grineer who are almost completely mechanical, like Vay Hek.

I'm not sure if magnetic damage being effective against Grineer would help balance it, but it would be flavourful IMO.

Grineer don't augment themselves with Computers so much as just crude Prosthetics or otherwise technologically dumb things.
besides, what's resisting the Magnetic Damage is Armor.

and as always any feasible Damage Type in any Video Game can be justified in being strong or weak vs any particular thing.

The Grinner use simple metal and crude plastic and other low made trash Prosthetic Limbs. Corpus on the other hand have full on cybernetics and Augmations

Think of it this way: High Tech, Fancy Looking Means Corpus/ Old and simple plastic and wiring Means Grinner

Konami isn't only games company making bionics, behold the Deus

Chances are they use materials that are non-magnetic in their composition, like we have non-magnetic stainless steel and so on. Ferrite could possibly be claimed to be magnetic, but that depends on how the grineer treat it before making armors or limbs from it.

So so. The basic rule of thumb is avoid iron, cobalt, nickel, and you'll probably be okay. Has to do with having unpaired electrons in the d-shell.

That said, if you ramp up the magnetic fields, most things actually get repelled.

I'd take the resistances/weaknesses from the faction's base "robotic" damage type - which means that grineer cybernetics would take more damage from impact, electric and blast.

Also, if we're doing damage types, it's still absurd that that you can poison, gas or infect robots and that slash procs still happen if you have shields up.

There may not be any actual electric flow in those prosthetics,

we are talking an age where the whole freaking moon is gilded, Cloning is sustainable (kinda), FTL travel and teleportation is possible.

Its not a stretch to consider prosthetics dont use EM signals , could be photon based with bio batteries - thats why you dont see any loose wiring on them (but you do see coolants) when they are cut open.

It would be cool if magnetic procs made enemies stick to each other.

Metal in a good portion of cases can just be heat treated to not have magnetic properties. However, some technologies, like computers and possibly futuristic high tech shields, can't just be heat treated the same way and require those possibly magnetic components to function.

The community at large can't handle anymore complications.

Not sure if you know, but someone already suggested simplifying the status system, because they probably couldn't take the time to understand it.

Warframe is already a complicated game for casuals. We should give people time to be able to handle the basics first.
