DrivaMain
I maxed out my focus a long time ago. Now I have piles of "useless" Eidolon shards from Eidolon Hunts post maxed out focus and there is no way to get rid of them without getting something in return. I know that Focus may get a rework sometime in the future and those shard will grant me instant access. But I thought what about making them tradeable? We all know focus grinding is a long grind. 50 Million Focus to max out everything is no one day job. I could see the pros of this : 1. Another source of platinum income and shard sink. 2. Veterans can help struggling newbies grinding focus by sparing a shard or two. 3. Players who hate focus grinding can just skip it by buying Eidolon Shards. Cons that could arise : 1. It may ruin the pace of focus progression DE intended. 2. May reduce the incentive to do Eidolon Hunts because players can just skip it with plat. Discuss. 0_The_F00l
Not plat tradeable in my opinion as gaining power though plat feels very scummy to me. Maybe put them though the grinder or trade them for other mat resources instead. Like i suggested a while back.

Gaining power or skipping grind with plat already exist in the form of arcane trading, max rank mod trading, riven trading, etc. Trading is also daily capped, so players can't just max out everything in a day. Remember you need 50 Million focus points to max out every node and max out the pool, that is equivalent of around 2000 Brilliant Shards or 1250 Radiant Shards, say if an MR15 player wants to skip through the grind he needs to trade for around 17-28 days non stop. If said player's MR is lower the days required to max out everything is even longer. Does The Helminth accept Eidolon Shard by any chance?

Yes , doesnt mean i have to like it or support mechanics that make it worse - it still feels scummy. Also not sure about the shards, dont recollect it being shown on the demo. I've been trying to work out a use for them since Arcanes became prebuilt. Only 1 recipe still requires them.

I could go either way on #1, but #2 is definitely a pro rather than a con AFAIC. 😛

But more reason for DE to keep abandoning Eidolons for other projects.
