Nightwave Recovered limit

There appears to be a built-in limit to the number of recovered nightwave missions you can do within a day, and one within a week as well.

 

I recently returned to playing after not being around since about Titania Prime showing up.  I decided to throw myself whole hog into catching up, as there were some cool rewards that seemed fun from nightwave this time- some cosmetics, a ship, and of course the umbral forma. So I started in with the nightwave missions, which started cycling up and catching me up.  At first this worked as it was clearly supposed to, but occasionally it would fail to show 3 quests until I relogged (showing only 2 at once).  However, sometimes it would stop showing new quests altogether, and treating it like I was 'done'.  This was mostly solved by the daily mission rollover, getting a new daily mission would then populate two other missions as well.

 

But then I got to the point where I was only getting one daily quest, and nothing else, and assumed I was caught up (which surprised me as I didn't think I was far enough along).  When the new quests all showed up on sunday, I set about working through them, at which point it started showing me more 'recovered' quests.  The exact same behavior started again (capping how many I could do in a day) and then I finished my entire recovered set again, seeing no further quests, and then again on sunday getting a full set- and recovered quests showing up again after that.

 

I am now feeling like I 'probably' am all caught up and I won't do this again for the third week, so when I complete the quests on sunday I won't get more recovered quests/backlog.  However, I have no way of knowing.  I certainly am not getting any recovered quests right now.  so either  I will get access to new quests on sunday, or I will just complete my quests  and be done with everything.

 

Primarily this seems like a concern for anyone returning to the game at the last minute, and trying to catch up on nightwave (which absolutely every indicator seems to be well within the intended play).  Being locked out artifically with absolutley no way to know what the cap is or even if there is a cap is just not good.

When next weekly task to be recovered is one you have already completed this week, "new" (old recovering) won't show. Recovered tasks recover immediately (when not broken by this bug). If there are any tasks left, you'll probably see them next week if they will not repeat weekly.

I've seen this bug reported at the end of intermission, but I don't know whether DE said something about it.

I just started this season of night wave yesterday, don't know if I will catch up but I have already completed 2 weeks worth of tasks I feel like. Only rank 6 haha

This seems to fit the case of when I would end up with 2 items recovered (instead of 3), but relogging (as in complete game shutdown) would tend to fix it, or the daily quest reset.  However, the weekly  reset would populate back up to 3 (from zero) once I cleared enough for it to populate the recovered list.  In at least one case the recovered ones were actually ones I had not seen before this nightwave, so I think the failure case you have outlined is incorrect.

 

It really just feels like there is a set number (that is considered by DE to be 'More than anyone would do') that you cannot get refilled past, per week.   To be fair, that number is high (I am reasonably certain it is more than 5 weeks of quests within one week), but it still should be bumped up.

I have noticed this same issue - I came back to WF on (US) Labor Day weekend, got excited about the new ship at rank 30, and started hammering. As of Wednesday or so of this week, no more recovered weeklies were appearing. I have made it to Rank 16, but rumors of 4-5 weeks to go leaves me concerned with making the remaining 140K standing in time.
