"Session Unavailable"

(PSN)chair_09

Question

There is an extremely annoying glitch that I experience when I first log on to Warframe. The first three attempts to go into a mission, i go into the loading screen where I can move my landing craft, but then a message pops up that says 'Session unavailable.' Sometimes, my screen freezes so I have to log back on and repeat the process until it works again. A sibling of mine uses the same network and this glitch that I experience does not affect him. This has been happening nonstop. (I did these missions public)  Is there any way to stop this???

Are you trying to play on public? If so, try not using public matchmaking. If you are not joining anyone the session cannot be “unavailable”. Otherwise, use recruit chat.

  • Exactly what you are trying to do may matter as well. Popular missions may fill up too quickly for you.

This has been happening for over a week, I dont think thats the case.

Because popular missions are now less popular? You haven’t really given enough information to give a proper. You haven’t even stated if you are trying to do co-op or solo. If it works as host and not client etc.

Try and reconfigure you’re network to allow it. Or change settings on the console. The lack of complaints about this suggest it is your issue, rather than a bug with the game. So you do need to provide adequate information if you want people to be able to help you.

I just edited it. You seriously think a venus spy mission would have 6 squads open?

He's just trying to rule out possible causes.  A lot of people would start their daily sessions by doing the sortie, for example, so it isn't a crazy idea.

In any case, the same thing (session unavailable) occasionally happens to me, but isn't typically when I first log in, except if my game or console has crashed and I am restarting.  Do you always use the PS menu to close the Warframe app when you end your session, or directly power down the console?

Aside from that, I don't have any ideas for you.

The experience from PC and PS4 players on this matter is different.

Most of the session unavailable on PC is caused by poor connection and connection fail to a host, thus usually happens on co-op and auto matching. However, my friend playing on PS4 told me that this thing is a bug torturing many ppl for a long time. The only workaround he came up with is host himself a mission solo first ( need to have the session totally solo ), could it be an easy capture or anything. Once finished, any mission afterwards should be fine. Certainly this is not a thing in PC.

it has to do with that the team you were joining had finished the mission an thus could no join making the session unavailable.
i would try power cycling your console to see if that helps at all

Try it after a completely cold boot (full shutdown), disconnect from the mains for ten seconds, then boot up again.

If it's still a problem, check that the clock on your console is correct and you're in the right time zone (yeah, seriously) and change it and reboot if needs be.

After that, check that there's no specific port forwarding or source based policies setup for your sibling's machine on the router, as one of your required ports might be getting 'borrowed'

I close the application by using the ps4 and not straight up turning it off

I just edited it. You seriously think a venus spy mission would have 10 squads open?

I have no idea of what the context to this statement is. But I would think a Venus spy would have two open squads at best. But it’s also a very quick mission to lock people out of joining. You just don’t give enough information. You don’t mention if you’ve tried any of the suggestions people have given either. So I am not sure if anyone can actually help you. We need to know whether suggestions are working or not.
