Trouble with Valkyr at Jupiter Junction

(PSN)LugubriousHymn

Question

Looking for some tips, and preferably not just "git gud". Using Excalibur but I have no energy right now so can't use the radial blind thing and finisher combo that worked before... My gear is nothing special, Boltor (19) Lex (14) Orthos (25). I have Rhino building but I have to wait until Monday to use it. So, any tips, or should I just wait until I have better stuff?

build corrosive or viral on the orthos(with attack speed, crit mods and range)
make excal with more survivability(level some health and armour mods) and just kill her
if she goes into hysteria just dodge and roll
your energy will come automatically in the junction so when you see you have enough just press 2 and kill her if you haven't killed her till now

I personally picked Mag as my starter frame, and found her Magnetize to be very effective against Junction Specters in most of the Star Chart. You can get her at the Phobos boss fight.

Did get a bit tricky for Sedna and Eris, which necessitated a switch to Valkyr, but for most of the Star Chart, Mag worked fine.

I'd recomend Mag (drops from The Sergeant back on Phobos).  No mods required, actually not having mods gives you more starting energy, 5 points per unspent mod point.

Just keep an eye on the Magnetize timer so you can recast it swiftly. Oh, and if she gets her claws out stop shooting and just wait for her to calm down again.

- Switch to melee, hold block and face the enemy. You'll be blocking all incoming damage, giving you oportunity to wait till you regenerate enough energy.
- If you have energy regen aura - use it.
- Having a sentinel with weapon and attack preset might help.
-Try to add more attack spead and as much damage as you can in your melee and simply rush Valk.

Pro tip: whatever left over modding capacity you have will directly effect how much energy you start off with.

I don't know the math behind it, but just take out the mods you don't need so you'll have enough to cast Radial Blind(s).

FormulaEdit

Warframes have a fixed amount of energy that they start any mission with, and also when reviving from death. This amount of energy is calculated based on the Warframe's free mod capacity and a base value specific for each Warframe (differs even between normal and prime variants). The formula followed is:

Starting Energy=Initial Energy+(5×Free Mod Capacity)

When Mod TT 20pxPreparation is equipped, the formula becomes:

Starting Energy=Initial Energy+(5×Free Mod Capacity)+(Energy Total×Mod Multiplier)

Note: When entering a conduit in Sanctuary Onslaught, a Warframe's energy is reset to their respective Initial value (see below), regardless of mods or mod capacity.

- Switch to melee,

I mean tbh I would never advise going into melee range of Valkyr.. 😕

Keep your distance, hide behind pillars (so she doesnt pull you with her ripline), use your best guns, if she screams and gets out her claws, keep jumping and parkouring away until she calms down, and then shoot her from behind the pillars again.

I started on a Volt (which you can get from the Tenno Lab in the dojo), and using my Shock and Shield abilities got through almost all of the junctions with little problems.

For an Excal, I have heard charging in with a Blind and your Exhalted Blade (your 2+4) and wailing on her works great- but this kind of advice is probably best for maxed out weapons, IE your Bolter, Lex, and Orthos at level 30, as well as your warframe. I'd put Vitality and Intensify in, but possibly leave the rest of your mods off your warframe; mod your Orthos with Pressure Point, Reach, and if you can, viral (cold+toxin) damage. Also make sure your Exhalted Blade has mods in it, which you should be able to do if your Excalibur is above level 10 (again, a max level frame is better).

For me, I think I had a Soma from the get go, and suppressive fire worked out great as long as you kept distance and she didn't go into her Hysteria mode (where she shrieks, pulls claws out and chases you around to murder you). which by that point, your tactic is stay on the other side of the room from her and don't let her close in. Your Bolter is a puncture weapon, so if you don't have a toxin mod for it; add for puncture and base damage, and multishot if you can. The tactic remains the same.
