Co op or solo play

Recommended Posts

I play mostly solo ever since I discovered that spy missions are much easier solo. Less chances of failure if the only player is myself. Also it's nice to go at my own pace and actually be able to pause the game when I want to step away for a bit. However, certain missions I play co-op like interception because it's just easier with a squad or survival for more enemy spawns. Bounties I do co-op as well because some of the objectives just work better with a squad, like that one liberation objective. Void fissures I do exclusively co-op for obvious reasons.

Lately I've been solo'ing Eidolons and Railjack content. Eidolons are fun solo since I don't have to worry about who on the team is more meta, roles, someone destroying the synovia before a lure is charged, someone pulling the lures away when they're trying to avoid energy spikes, host migrations, etc. Solo railjack is pretty hectic in a fun way, but I'm tempted to try railjack as co-op just to be able to see the battle in another perspective that's not the pilot, like at the top level of the railjack or the side guns. I'm having plenty of fun either way - well, when it doesn't bug out.

So I guess, to cut it short, I choose whichever mode that I feel like I'll enjoy myself the most in.

For me co op has 2 modes: random squads and recruited teams.

I play mostly with random squads (consider the squad as another rng generated content and have no expectations).

If I end up in a speed runs squad I'm the one who is late at extraction. It doesn't bother me, I take my time to loot some boxes on the way, there is always a chance for amber stars.

The only speed run I do is to crack relics, I play this mode only if Exterminate or Capture is available. With good squads you stay below 2 minutes.

Recruit channel I use only for certain radshare relic runs or some rare Nightwave missions.

Sometimes I prefer some solo runs, mainly for spy missions or for testing certain gear / mods / playstyle

I'm a mix of both, for a simple reason in that I'm handicapped (I'm missing an arm) so I have the mentality that I drag everyone else down due to it, and I do enjoy the slight challenge of doing solo tricaps, solo Profit Taker, etc. However, if the mood strikes me, I'm found quite often running around on pub on the lower planets, talking to newer players and such. Warframe to me is more of a social game than anything else nowadays though, so take that as you wish.

solo all the way. I only PUG for those times where I feel it would be more efficient for others to get shot at while I carry the mission 😛

now if the majority of public runners actually followed this advice, we'd have a lot less REEE threads on the forums.

Is the mission about getting from point A to point B ? Then I'm going solo because there are so many inconsiderate crate openning non bullet jumping slugs out there. (Capture/exterminate fissures send shivers down my spine) If those were noobs I'd understand, but I've been waiting at extract many times next to a mr5, waiting for a mr23 doing god knows what 5 rooms before. If you wanna open all the lootboxes on the map, do it solo, don't waste other people's time. And don't give me the "you can play however you want" BS, it's like if someone was refusing to attack towers in a moba, you technically can yes, but it's extremely impolite.
