So I got banned on Warframe.market

Recommended Posts

Hello, first of all let me introduce myself.

My in game name is TheKole, I'm Warframe player from Serbia.

To save my fingers from retyping the chat between myself and "mod" from the market, I'll attach the screenshot.

-screenshot removed-

So I open my browser to check it, 'cuz You guys know that around 100 listings can be active on a profile.

And I get greeted by this.

Then I open Discord link from the description, and write in their support channel, and get myself blocked by the same moderator.

-screenshot removed-

First of all, I have been scammed on few other sites by "mods" being impersonated.

So I was thinking here we go again, and I haven't been the politest of all. But he has been nothing but rude, and impolite.

Sure, I called him an a**hole, but that was burst of rage when I saw my profile being banned.

I don't really know what to do about it, but some nice people on regional chat suggested I post it here.

And I actually got two for sale, but I was fishing... and You know how annoying is to do a trade, then go do anything, lets say fishing, and in a 15 sec you get another message with another trade....like bro, please wait a minute, ill invite you in a couple of minutes, never got in problems with other buyers...either they wait, or they find another seller...

Warframe is not associated with Warframe.market. Its a fan site at best. I don't think they can really do much about disputes on websites that are not their own.

And I don't think the forums can be of much help either.

Part of it took place in game, so I was hoping something could be done, though unlikely. It can't hurt to create a ticket at least.

One on hand, this feels like abuse of power. Forcing you to come trade with his clan member (? why else telling you to come to his dojo).

On the other hand, it really doesn't need to devolve into insults. I just set my status to online or invisible whenever I'm busy ingame or AFK. They already have rules set up there. I would just apologize and change my status, and ask if the guy want to wait or find another seller.

Oh yes, you're not the 1st one, thanks to that moderator, multiple users have finnaly received the punishment deserved as there are multiple instances of users doing fake listings or remaining online for months at a time but never actually being online ingame, so when it happens players will simply contact the moderator, show some proof and they act on it.

I just entered the game, opened market and started playing, just done one trade, and went fishin'...

I am POLITE trader, you can ask anyone that traded with me...and i got furious when he acted high and mighty, like "RIGHT NOW, THIS SECOND OR ELSE"...

You have to understand that they back the decisions with the agreement you did, you have to be available, if you're not, they can act on it.

It's the usual "if you don't like the terms, don't use the website"

Online means you are ready to trade, if you aren't you need to update the status with something else

I´ve heard that their mods randomly check the cheapest listings to prevent flipping or price manipulations. Not sure if that´s true or not but we all know these guys exist. They put up fake offers at low prices and hope for noobs to undercut their prices so they can snipe and resell them.

So maybe this mod was doing exactly this - but he might have also just abused his "power" to randomly ban people. A few years ago I was running a website with a forum for graphic artists and we finally needed some mods to care for the forum and spam posts. We had one mod who was clearly exaggerating, banning people left and right for small issues. We became aware of this after two users contacted us via our own support mailaddress.

Does WF.m have a support address? This would be my best guess how to solve this problem.

Well.

But in my opinion the moderator was rude, but in the rules from the market.

“Online in game” indicates you are ready to trade.
Depending on the item and price of your listing, you have 5 to 15 minutes to reply, when contacted by a trader.

EDIT:reading all, both were rude, but the ban was ok

@TheKole

You're just digging deeper, calling out a buyer names is not exactly proper trading conduct and you may even be punished ingame for that, i'm not sure exactly why you posted this for everyone to see, but that wasn't a smart move.

Players and moderators will check listing and if something is off, they act on it

This is also a 3rd party website, DE cannot help you and in the chat the one insulting was you, you have to understand that no BS is allowed, you can't make excuses, insults and then hope for the best.

Can a mod lock this?

that's literally a reason for getting arrested

No way, really?

When you come on strong and with that attitude, what do you expect, milk and cookies?

Sure I was getting irritated, and acted upon it rather mildly...

Well to be honest, the whole story now looks a little different after the mod himself posted a screenshot that shows that -name removed- put him on ignore before getting banned.

Also he told him to "fk off", which he cut from his screenshots.

We know the saying "every medaillon has 2 sides".

Taking this thread down : the warframe forums are not a tribunal.

DE has no control over the warframe.market website, plus we have a strict no name and shame policy. The forums are just not the right place to denounce bad behaviour from other users. We don't want to encourage witch hunting.

If you feel like the EULA have been broken in game by a member of warframe.market, please take contact with the player support desk : https://digitalextremes.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Warframe.market is a third party website/service not run or managed by DE.

This means that their moderators or administrators can act however they want on their platform with no accountability to DE or DE's policies.

You'll need to resolve this situation with them. I'm removing the screenshots you've posted because they are not in keeping with the forum's code of conduct--specifically the rule regarding naming and shaming.
