Zhuge/Prime vs Arrow Mutation

the Zhuge uses rifle ammo pickups, right?

so.... why is it able to equip Arrow Mutation, and how does that interact with its ammo economy?

It uses rifle ammo as its pickup, but for all other purposes it's considered a bow. I suspect most/all the crossbow/bolt weapons are like this.

The bows can equip either the arrow or sniper mutation (since they use the special/sniper ammo pickups).

Pretty sure all the ammo mutation mods are basically identical.
