What excites you most about the new update?

I am super excited on this, the eve of our new infested open world. This is something I have wanted for a long time, and I thought it was still a long way off.

New kaiju's to fight, a whole new city to explore, new tunnel systems and new enemies and necramechs. At least one, probably two new syndicates to rank up, which is one of my favorite forms of progression. It all sounds really good to me and I can't wait.

So, to spread some positivity, not that there is anything wrong about constructive feedback in the right place, what actually excites you about the new update? What are you looking forward to on Heart of Deimos Eve?

I’m still excited for Helminth but there’s been enough talk about that on these forums I think.

I’m actually excited for the open world. Steve’s comments at Tennocon made it sound like they had learned from the big empty wastelands that were the last 2 open worlds and are making this one more compact. That is a fantastic idea and I can’t wait to see how it’s executed. I know it will be a POE re-skin and that’s fine, as long as they jam pack it with stuff this time around.

Also, the necromechs, obviously.

Two main things.

1: Lore. I'm a sucker for Warframe's lore - even when it's on the less-coherent side, it's always written and told very well. Plus, this time around the lore is more connected to the wider world than the previous two times. By virtue of being an Orokin Family, the Entrati's lore is inextricably linked to Orokin lore. Even if they eventually diverged from the Orokin community, their Origins will still tell us more. Also, more lore surrounding void Juju. Should be excellent.

2: I'm standing by for Titanfall.

Spoiler

NEW CONCLAVE. ((with the addition of the Necromechs we could ...

Nothing much, yet.

The new UI is dreadful. Pretty painful to look at: information I want to see at a glance is either no longer in existence or behind extra clicks, leaving squads after pub missions is harder, most of the new UI screens are opaque, the list goes on and on.

Derelict was moved over on the map and no longer costs keys to access missions. It's a change, but not much of one since the resources to craft the keys are commonplace and can be obtained in the Derelict itself.

Helminth system's going to see many more tweaks since it's flawed in many ways, so it's hard to get excited for something that isn't the finished product we get at the end, regardless of how it looks now.

Infested open world looks nice, but I'm not sure that DE has learned from their mistakes in PoE, since they both repeated some of the same mistakes in Fortuna and have not addressed others entirely. Hard to be excited for something I don't expect to be very fun.

The lore could be interesting, but in my opinion, we haven't been given enough of it as a teaser to create interest in the remainder of it.

The only part that had me excited for a bit was that we were shown enough information to figure out what to grind in advance for the update - spare Warframes, augments for subsumed abilities, requiem mods, etc.

I'm mainly concerned that DE servers won't be able to handle the volume of players trying out the new update. Servers have been glitchy for the past 2 weeks, on-and-off, and I don't expect that to improve overnight.

The update could be great, and I hope it is - I just don't see it being that way on day 1. Maybe in 2-5 months, it will be. We'll find out soon enough.

Cambion Drift looks like a place I'll spend a lot of time in. It's got that post-apocalyptic (or should I say ongoing) space place vibe with mutants running around making all sorts of uncomfortable squishy sounds, with tunnels and treasures and robot rebellions hidden deep beneath. Space kid in a candy store, eye-candy galore.

Helminth's a hot topic, one everybody's prepping for. I can't wait to spice up my frames' weak abilities with other utility stuff I like. Heck, my inventory could use a clean-up, what better way than to feed it to my little ship of horrors.

Xaku... gotta wait and see. Their barebones kit shown in Tennolive wasn't enough to impress, but does get an "Ok, cool" and color me curious (hell all new frames do that). Looks nice though, I'll have fun customizing them soon enough.

Necramechs, revenge of the robo-corn. Need the firepower to back up that bulk.
