Wukong Stealth Nerf

I don't mind that Wukong was nerfed, but it should at least make some patch notes...

For those that don't know, you could hold crtl while playing Wukong to speed up Cloud Walker. I had a loadout dedicated to speed running using the mod system - built in a way that I wanted to build it. That meant a lot, because there was a niche that I found that wasn't used by a lot of people.. and now it's gone. And before anyone says that anyone can cloud walker, I'm not even talking about Cloud Walker but a synergy that I found that I don't even want to have to disclose to make an argument. The annoying thing is, to make a more firm arguement i have to disclose my build and I simply don't want to have it known because if people start using it more I just feel that DE as the devs will nerf it even more, and the synergy is ALREADY DEAD. Why can't we have nice things? This build has become complete garbage and will just be replaced by Titania.

Do whatever you want with this information, I'm just venting.. very frustrating that stuff like this just goes away in time and no one remembers why. I had heard other people mention this being nerfed and kinda brushed it off as hearsay because it's not in the patch notes. Upon using the build today it's very evident that the speed bonus is no longer there. You can do away with this as "We fixed it" but it doesn't change that there were people that liked this playstyle and I don't see how just being fast is a problem if we have to manually control it - Titania, Volt, Wisp, and Gauss already exist!

It's now actually faster for me to parkour with arcane consequence and firewalker than use the ability. So why does he even have it?? Also, the build already had these things on it. I just actually tested to confirm this. That's just sad..

I think you may be underestimating. The forums have been aware and openly discussing this since January, when DE first attempted to fix it.

Errr, invisibility/invulnerability? Health regen? Laser avoidance?

I am absolutely serious about that question, I can use operator for all of that and be backed up by a frame that doesn't just have celestial twin. Keep in mind I'm also talking about a build for pure speed running.. can't speed run without the speed.

Sure, or you can use Cloud Walker and free up Arcane and Focus slots on your Operator?

Speed running is clearly not considered a valid playstyle by DE, who want you to actually engage with the game and it's content.

In fact, even I don't consider it a valid playstyle. Speed running games can be fun and all, but traditionally games are not balanced around the speed running side of things. You know that, I know that, hence why your "why does he even have it" question looks completely daft.

Then do so? Or play Nova, or Gauss or whatever else you want.

Out of curiosity, given that Titania has several abilities that affect localised areas instead of moving with her and are thus useless to a speedrun build, are you going to question why she "even has those" abilities as well?

I mean, the whole point of speedrunning is to create an additional challenge for yourself in addition to the existing content, taking the mechanics as given and exploiting them to the greatest degree available. So whether or not it's valid, no game is ever built around it, because that defeats the purpose. So the idea that a particular ability is good because it's good for speedrunning wouldn't be an argument for having it in the game.

What was actually wrong with it? Who was it hurting? What does it matter than I'm doing this with Titania, Nova, or Wukong? Not to mention, we actually have no idea if DE thought it was even too powerful or if it was just accidentally fixed because afaik there's no statement on it.

Yeah we do. Pablo is on record saying Wukong was too fast.
