The Exocrine Expedition

Currently, the quest will not allow the player to catch the fish required to complete the quest. The fish below the surface stay stationary and do not make it possible to catch the fish and therefore cannot complete the Heart of deimos questline. Hope to see a fix soon. 

 

Edit: 3 resets and abort quests seemed to have refreshed. Fish can be caught at this time.

I've just tried his quest, but it seemed to stick at "equip fishing spear".
I did so, even caught several fish, of 3 different types, but nothing

This is so frustrating, how do you release with a bug like this super early in the main quest? It just gets stuck on the fishing spear and you can't do anything.

I stuck at actual catching fish. Tried every spear, but fish just get destroyed. Retried quest two times for now. Used wukong with or without twin.

Curiously, before quest I catched different types of fish no problemo.

I reset the quest after fish stopped spawning in the Collect Fish step. The residue now does not count for me either, and the step cannot be completed.

How do you even equip the spear, I wonder.

I too am stuck at this quest.  I am able to finally after some time get the fish top spawn above water line only to find they explode once my spear successfully catches them, so not update to quest.

For the people who can't seem to catch fish in the Exocrine Expedition mission:

AIM FOR THE TAIL

I didn't catch that bit of dialogue because it all sounded like science mumbo jumbo. Don't aim for the body. AIM FOR THE TAIL.

It tells me to catch the fishes, but no fish is spawning to catch...

Lured fish can't be collected in my case either. I already reset and retried (through manual abort) 3 times in a row, still no improvement.

Just found a fix for this for anyone else having trouble at the fishing part. I equipped my archwing, left the mission area (yellow circled area), equipped the spear again and went back to the mission area. Shortly after 'daughter' finally started talking and the mission was able to resume. Hope this helps

You have to make sure that the fish is out of the water. It won't allow you to catch it while under the water

So to equip the spear - use your Gear Wheel - and select the spear and your good to go, move away from quest area if no updates, i found. you get new waypoint and Daughter will say some stuff. Then just spear em fishies - also you can do the catch 10 fish achievement too here. :)

I am facing this issue too i have catched like 26 of them yet it didnt even registered a single one

I've got kind of the same problem: (three tries now still nothing yet)

-1) I gather the pieces of the wyrm 

-2) I catch the fish they ask me to catch

-3) After that first catch my spear stay stuck in my hand with the rope going up with an other spear on the other side. I cant move. I cant change weapon. cant use powers, cant throw bait. I'm helpless and stuck every times

Got the same problem with the fishing quest, currently any fish i catch do not count towards the mission objective, after 5 quest resets and 2 game resets i am pretty much done.

It seems the latest update bugged most fishing quests.

Ive just got the problem of catching the fish but they dont register when caught. Ive caught 20+ fish and so far the counter is still stuck at 0/3. sucks really ive tried restarting over 5 times now and it still isnt working

Same here. Have caught dozens of fish each time, reset multiple times, back to oriber and to the Necralisk. Nothing works, unable to get fish to register as caught.

This is completely game-breaking and blocking players from being able to proceed with the latest content. Please hotfix asap.

 

EDIT: Update - Looks like they fixed it. Hotfix was patched in a few mins after I posted this, after it deployed I restarted Warframe and got through the quest.
