Helminth is not the star of the Deimos show.

Ive been watching Iflynn play Heart of Deimos and i have to say lore wise it has been interesting, character acting (the family, not charles manson's) and story very enjoyable, but hands down, MECHSUIT conclave is MUST!!  Railjack, whats that?  Good job DE making such and enjoyable bunch of characters with relatable family issues. Much better than what we go from fortuna.

oh and the Daughter is HOT in a henti sorta way.

To be honest, I tend to value game play more than I do new areas/open world expansions. I've been waiting for an ability swapping system like Helminth for almost a decade now so I think I'm always going to be more excited about that.

That being said, I am enjoying Heart of Deimos so far for what it is, admittedly I only just started playing the update so it may be too soon to call it for me

I am truly sorry about your... entire life, I guess, if these absolute jerks remind you of your family in a positive way. 🤣

The story in the update though...

Like, characters are nice - girl with headphones especially. But who the #*!% are they? What was the void research? What is the Heart? What are requiems? What the #*!% is Grey strain? What was in control of mech that tried to kill the heart? What part did the infestation play in research?

God I'm disappointed in that quest. Especially after how awesome the Deadlock protocol was. Deimos is Destiny-style instead: here, take all this cool stuff with 0 explanation, and go #*!% yourself. Not even new fragments to get lore from them, like on Cetus. Seriously, am I missing something here? Like, another quest maybe? Or some source of lore?

The broken token system is the star of the show... just not in a good way.

waynes world GIF

drink some water Tenno, your thirst is showing.

Mechsuit Conclave would have a better chance than regular conclave, but I doubt DE will bother adding it, because it would still not have a very large number of people willing to play it for any length of time. it was kind of fun though, and at least now when I get bored with current equipment I can whip out a mech.

The first two are fairly obvious, I think.

Spoiler

The Heart opens the connection between our world, and the void. Without the heart operating, the connection is severed and our link to our power source is lost.

The Grey Strain is quite likely just the Grey Wyrm, given it's the "aggressive one" whilst the more generic orange one is a bit more chill.

To be fair you really should be familiar with the void and what research exactly they were doing doesn't really matter a whole lot unless you want a bunch of techno babble, and while I won't say you should know about requiems because the lich system is better off avoided than played they are not new.

As for the Heart they explained it: it is the device that pumps power between the here and the void allowing the tenno to have their magic powers.

I assume Grey Strain is an infested "Grey Goo".

That said I think they also mentioned "untime" which I have no idea what the heck that is about, and it sounds like Mother's Father might be the man in the wall based on how she claimed to have heard him tapping and everyone else thinking she is crazy.

This is how everything works in Warframe. DE starts something and then they never finish it. I'm still salty that we'll never see the Unum, or that the Nef Anyo temple in the Orb Vallis is a complete missed opportunity.

Yeah cause they nerfed the shiet out of him pre update, for no good reason.

Most of those questions were answered though?

They're the Entrati family, a family of orokin researchers who studied the void and figured out how to make it useful. The heart is basically a spigot that drips the void into reality, allowing for things like space travel via solar rails. The gray strain is the particular strain of infested on Deimos. The one in the mech is

Grandmother[/s], who

in true grandiose orokin selfishness engineered the entire thing to make her family reconcile, even though the heart being destroyed would result in civilization in the origin system collapsing. She almost comes out and says this when you meet her for the first time.

I believe this gets answers in Loids room as we progress the Necramech standing.

Anyone notice the two giant worms who shoot at each other seem to resemble gigantic Lephantis Heads? Also their names seem to be after Anti-Kuva Lich Requiem Mods.

Definitely the Necramechs are the coolest part. Though what I'm wondering is why they would've stopped using them if they seem to be that effective at fighting both Sentients and Infested, or how they play into the whole response to the Sentients turning against them part? The Necramechs also vaguely remind me of the Ingsmashers from Metroid Prime for some reason.

But what did the research entail? How was the Void discovered? How did they invent the heart? How does it work? Was the Mother's introductory gibberish really the extent of that info? Just saying "those are void researches" is as shallow as it gets, and that's the extent of info we've gotten. Compare that to Cetus fragments that have damn ostron food recipes. It gave context to the world. There's 0 context on Deimos.

I was expecting, mainly, new lore on void and some context for requiems. I got 0 of those. The heart itself is a huge can of worms. Now Sentients can literally cause collapse of human civilization just by nuking the little moon. Great.

As for grandmother... if that's the way it was, it's delivered absolutely horribly.

Hey...at least when you lost your powers in D2, it lasted for more than 2 minutes and actually felt like a big deal.

You need to progress in the Necraloid Syndicate to find out the rest of what you're asking.

You actually need to play the zone and the faction to find out.  (Its laid out in the storyline that *they* don't remember who they are other than the few pieces they intro with.)

*Gasp*

You actually have to work for it snowflake.

Same! about the Ing i mean. I think it had something to do with the way they where made and moreover controlled. like from what I can tell warframes where, for the most part, smart, and could take on a lot of things. sometimes doing so stealthy. Necromecks are said to be dumb and pretty much just drones, without much in the way of a brain. So I figured it was the utility of a warframe outweighed producing many many mecks, and could be used for corrupt reasons without as much noise. plainly put 1 tenno is worth X number of mecks (probably like 10-100).

Also, considering it has a skull in it, I assume its also made from a person, probably someone expendable and maybe someone who was still living. Tenno probably would have been the answer to mass production without sacrificing population to create them. Also to note, the only old war era people we have seen have been massive, so it probably was not an orokin skull in there, more then likely whoever they ruled over. So in that case the Tenno where probably a way to prevent uprisings as well. No one likes when grandpas corpse brakes down the door and starts shooting in the name of the king.

Iv only really done the story missions and not much eles. Its neat, but it seems much less exicting then the other open worlds for some reason. also I can barely see the mineing spots. I can find them on the map easily, but identifying the glow spots is difficult.

Fair enough. At least now I know there actually is something else. Not a typical case with Warframe.
