General Feedback on Deimos

1) Visuals:
world looks pretty. 
There are some spots where infested grass pokes through concrete that is kind of immersion breaking.
the mining tweaks have helped but there's still a lot of bugged mining nodes that aren't accessible at all because they are covered by objects with collision, this is not the same as objects that pulsate and expose the nodes periodically, but some of them just can't be accessed.

2) Storytelling:
The main story was serviceable, typical run of the mill Warframe, where I'd hesitate to call it "good writing" but it's at least interesting...
Now for a complicated bit...
When ranking up in the Entrati family I think it's really cool to have a small cutscene, all factions should do this to some extent because it makes it feel, unlike 99% of warframe, like you're actually progressing a story when you play (exceptions for new players of course).  That's the upside.
The downside is that the writing for those parts is bar none the worst I've seen in warframe to date... even their vendor dialogs are better.  It feels like TellaNovella bad, like someone said "screw it, just throw in whatever, most of our audience is weebs accustom to bad anime, so whatever will be passable". 

So on one hand I'm all for the idea of adding cut scenes with syndicate ranks (again, adding to all factions and future factions would be awesome), on the other, this specific example is a brilliant idea executed comically poorly.

The one area I will say this update shines, is not surprisingly in the visual design storytelling.

3) Gameplay

3.1 Conservation
So I really like that there are ways to bypass the fishing and mining through playing warframe the game part of the game...

Unfortunately there is no way to do this with Son tokens (ie conservation).  

Now, I refuse to believe you all didn't know in advance that conservation is in the very least, polarizing if not with most people massively disliking it as an activity to be forced on the player/in general.

I personally am in the camp of "I hate this" 99% of the time, but recognize some people are really into it and floof collecting and such, and party for them, because holy crap is there a lot of mandatory conservation.  As someone who hates this activity with no way to bypass it, it sure would be nice if A) there wasn't so much of it, or preferably B) there was a way to bypass it.

It's nice that we have alt game modes to change things up a bit, and I don't mind too much when this pops on nightwave because it's something different to engage with, and that's why I like nightwave, it breaks me out of the monotony and asks me to do stuff i wouldn't otherwise do for rewards, and that's cool, but as a mandatory function of the update it's gruelling, miserable and makes me very unhappy, and I'm not alone in that.

I will note that there's nothing wrong with enjoying this activity, and I get that you'll want to shoehorn in some so players at least interact with the system some, but the ammount there is that is mandatory with this update is soul crushing for anyone that isn't a fan, and that's a bunch of folks from what I gather (ie the vast majority of everyone I've heard with any opinion on it).

3.2 Drop rates
Most things are good.  
Cutting fish still seems to be broken unless you do one at a time and that's tedious AF, that's as of like an hour ago.
Scintellent drop rate is abysmal, I'm having flashbacks to PoE wisps at launch.  Please stop this madness.
Thaumica is also extremely rare for something we have as a mandatory component in many key things.  This might be my fault with boosters, but I'm getting next to none for hours upon hours of mining and vaults.  So far I've got 40 distillate... that's literally not enough to build anything I need for any of the objects that need it... not even one.  That's with double and rarity booster and smeeta... what do I gotta do to get me some Thaumica up in this piece?  I literally have hundreds of the rare gems, can't seem to get any thaumica...

3.3 what is happening to acolytes?
Acolyte mods seemed to have moved to bounties... that's cool, they aren't what they used to be and some of them are basically worthless now, or mandatory, so in both cases it's nice to be able to get them semi-reliably throughout the year for newer players.

That said, what happened to the acolytes?  What are they going to drop now?  Will they be back?  If not, what is happening as a holiday seasonal event to engage the community?

I feel like cutting the content entirely seems off even though it's pretty stale and monotonous, it's at least something... I'm really concerned that we should have more annual events rather than less.

If you're going to replace it, maybe replace it with a better version of itself with new drops?

3.4 Vaults
This is really poorly explained in game.  
Most players don't know that there are more than one vault to run in my experience, let alone that there are secret doors in the first 2 (maybe 3, but I haven't found any in there yet).
Please find a way to make the user experience better understood by the player base.
Similarly the 8 cairns scattered around the land are also really poorly explained.  

It would also be cool if the bounty simply started a one hour timer at the host loading in rather than working on the cycle, this causes all kinds of head aches for the player in the current method.


4 Overall:
Overall I like the update so far, hate the conservation and dislike several of the drop rates being so abysmal and of course, there is bug fixing yet to be done, the most common problem I've seen is people losing the ability to void dash in the cambion drift.  This is really bad and annoying, I've experienced it, and seen others experience it dozens of times.
