Exodia contagion shadow nerf

The old Contagion had insane base stats, affected by Zaw parts, then affected by mods which leaded to absurd value when making the right Zaw.

To fix this, it's seems like they decided to not influence it with Zaw parts anymore, rather that copying the exact stats of the Zaw which is really weird. In my opinion, this really don't fit the modular mindset behind Zaws and just make the theorycraft uninteresting, especially as it encourage attack speed Zaw even more because you shoot faster but it doesn't decrease stats of the projectile.

If they wanted to nerf Contagion (which let's be honest, is necessary), the best solution would to copy the exact stats of the Zaw and change damage value/types from there.

Not many people used exodia contagion in the first place and even then if they really wanted to nerf it they should have mentioned it in the patch notes but they are going for the shadow nerf approach lol.

Not many people used it but honestly I don't know why, Exodia is just damn too strong and still perform too well even after the nerf.
However, I agree with the patch notes thing, it really feel like a stealth nerf/fix. Maybe it was just an unintented change they haven't noticed yet ?

But the projectile still deals less damage than weapon  itself and it doesn't add the 400% damage bonus with navigator and they haven't fixed that yet...Not many people use that because probably they don't have any idea existed till scarlet spear because self damage. Every time i played even MR 29 players  asked what was that flying stuff...

It seems it has a fixed cc and sc now but there is not any mention about it in the patch notes.

I didnt notice the Nerf and im still dealing very high damage values with mine, managed to deal a 2,240,000 hit with a Hammer class Zaw yesterday on a group of mobs when doing Deimos bounties.

Do you understand the damage you see on low level mobs(overall infested) doesn't count right? I killed level 9999 corpus with one hit without any buff now i can't even against level 170 enemies but if i build with bloodrush and CO .. reading the wiki right now, apparently the bullets now has 20% fixed crit chance and 2X multiplier, practically they robbed me all the rivens i rolled and the zaws i built...

yeah now the only thing that matters on a zaw is the attack speed and the base damage but crits and status chance is not scaling according to the weapon stats. :c

it really pains because I had a riven so I didn't have to build up combo and could still enjoy the benefits of red crits but now DE just killed my fun :'c

A pain? I have dozens of rivens(rolled hundred of times ) and zaws built just for the contagion, used as a main weapon for 3 fkn years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still can't use piercing navigator on it  or getting the +400% bonus with navigator making this weapon good only against infested(because they are stupidly squishy) or low level enemies.

I can understand this is just a prototype of  game but at least give real  stats on a weapon or don't wait 3 years to nerf it...

Well, after the nerf the thing is it's strong enough to be viable, I would even say it's still the best AoE gun in the game.
It's just that the projectile is not a straight upgrade of the melee itself anymore, so it encourage players to use is a as complement of you their melee, rather than using it alone as a gun, which is much more interesting.

Absolutely right but it's still a projectile weapon and i can't use the true potential using ivara navigator with it. I don't even see written anywhere in the description why  it should have 20% fixed crit chance and 2X multiplier. I don't see even why it should disappear after less than 3 seconds if you hit an enemy, volt shield,  limbo cataclysm or everything else using navigator, it doesn't get +400% buff if you use navigator... I don't see any reason why piercing navigator should not give punchthrough(overall after the nerf)...

Just write in the arcane description to use the glaive prime or the pathocyst( till they will nerf that too) because this weapon is now trash and refund the plat and time wasted to buy the arcanes and rivens years ago..

And to be clear i am not against "nerf", i like balanced games but i like even transparency and  clarity when you make some changes.

Totally agree with you that side, it's kind of balanced but because of inconstancy with the rest of the game that make it extremly frustrating in some situations and just give it a fix power rather than make it sighly weaker but scaling with potential synergies. It's very werid

Yea, I searched for it now, but I'm sure I saw something somewhere.
Either way they will not revert it, just make a line "it slipped trough the cracks, we will be more transparent next time".
tbf I expected it to hit with the first limbo nerfs while SS was on, but they kept it intact way more.
tl;dr whoever had his fun, good - bad for the others ^^
