Hunting Rifle Scan/Beep

Recommended Posts

Maybe its just me and ive read that some poeple seem to have it extremly easy finding stuff just running around or flying around

But can we maybe get something like on the mining laser that the beeping increases over time?

Like, im flying over the map, start to hear the beep > something catchable is nearbye

Then i proceed to spend like 5 minutes scanning the entire area for that fuggin glowing piece of garbage to catch and still find nothing,

In a 1 hour session of doing this flying / Catching i got about 5 animals. So yeah, maybe its just me and my bad eyes, i dunno. Any advices?

DE, please change the color of said pings so it has high contrast.

Plains is a lot of muddy browns and grays, so using a relatively bright green (similar to a completed Codex scan) would go a long way.

Fortuna... Nah that can stay as-is, bright orange on mostly whites and grays is great contrast.

Deimos, though?  Orange on orange?  Doing me dirty, DE.  Perhaps changing the beeps to white would help make it stand out from the environment.

I think it would be very helpful to make some adjustments to the current conservation methods—especially if it is now required for ranking up in Deimos.

the color contrast thing is definitely an issue, as well as finding tracks. The first time I did conservation I couldn’t see the tracks to save my life. Didn’t even know they existed until I did some adjustments to my display options and suddenly these things were visible.

having to change my display just to cater to deimos’s environment seems silly. So an alteration to either color or an easier detection method would be ideal.

Not for me, I honestly can't see bright orange on white, makes conservation a pain on Fortuna, especially when it comes to pobbers.

Though that might just be me having a small amount of color blindness.

Personally I kind of wish we could select our ping colors for that thing.

Color picker, please.

Or how about adjusting it to the area individual, imagine you have to pick and change it each time yourself, maybe some more visible clouds over them? I mean we see how well colour still is with Kuva clouds on infested maps aswell. I swear often DE looks blind at it.

that is the best solution that way I could set the view color to a bright cyan similar to luminous die to make them easier to see (I don't do conservation with the gun on OV sleep arrow is better for that)

the mining laser's beam is based on the frame energy color that would work because I want an entirely different kit on each of the open worlds

I think either letting us customize it or making it context sensitive is best. No one color would work best. Bright blue is a very common color on the vallis, so maybe a deep red would be best there. But that doesn't work best in deimos so a vibrant green would be great there. But Plains is pretty green, so how about we do blue there?

What about a really bright purple?  Save for the wildlife of Deimos (which is easily disposed of), I don't think the tilesets incorporate a lot of purple.

The whole tranq rifle ui is useless. You got some pointless distance number, blinking arrows that show nothing, no control over zoom.
The beeping is constantly strong and only "stops" when you go out of range - on/off.

I'm shocked we can't upgrade the rifle in any way.  We have the various widgets for the scanner and the different spears and their unique functionalities.  You'd imagine they would have implemented some thing similar along those lines for the rifle so not everyone is using the same 3 shot rifle that only has about 20 feet of range.  Upgrades for range or capacity or to make the arrows function as directional target indicators, something more than nothing.

EDIT: I just had the really dumb idea of them just releasing a faction purchasable weapon mod that reduces the weapon's damage by 99% and the remain 1% is converted to "tranq" damage so you could then just use any weapon as a tranq rifle, but then you'd have "conservationists" running around with their Tranq Brammas nuking the countryside for rats and space vultures.
