Bug Or Feature - Maggot farming

I am new to forums so I apologize if this post isn't up to par with others structurally, any way, some of my alliance members have found out a way to grind out the new resources in The Heart of Deimos. It involves going to a requiem pillar, (I do not know which type) activating it, leading brood mothers toward the pillar, going invincible in the rift with limbo, and letting the maggots kill themselves, who then drop endless resources for the players to pick up. I am not certain on whether this is or isn't intended by the devs, but it is entirely exploitable to easily get Deimos materials.
