If Conservation is to be FORCED - Then FIX IT FIRST.

I don't mind conservation, fishing or mining, in fact I quite enjoy it from time to time, but even I have to admit that this is a pi**-take of a system.

GENERAL ISSUES:

- Vizier Predasites and Sly Vypphyayahhah spawn way too often.

- Avichaea are buggy and either do not spawn AT ALL (only just got some "common" ones after hours and hours of gameplay), or they spawn inside walls/buildings, leading to them being unattainable (even more of a b*tch considering they are a requirement for Rank 3 Entrati).

- Other types of Vyphalayhagaja don't spawn anywhere near enough. After hours of gameplay in Deimos, I do not have a single token for the "Kavats" apart from the Sly variant. Some people on the breeder's discord have had luck, but I haven't seen a single one.

- The Avichaea and the Termite things are so darn small that they seamlessly blend into the environment and thanks to an issue below with the Tranq Rifle, are almost impossible to spot.

- Only ever seen 2 Medjay Predasites in hours of gameplay.

- Tracking animals is a pain as they get scared-off far too easily.

TRANQ RIFLE ISSUES (some also apply to PoE and O.V):

- Tranq. rifle beeps and beeps and beeps, but doesn't show any glowing outlines, leading me to believe that the radius at which it detects the animals is larger than the radius at which is produces the glow.

- The glowing outline of the animals is the same colour as 80% of the terrain leading to great annoyance when trying to find the animals.

- No indication of where the animal is or how far away it is, leading to having to scour the screen for ages to find where the darn animal is. (Could easily fix this by making the Tranq Rifle function like the mining tool - giving it a small "enemy radar" type mod where you can see animal spawns in a radius on the minimap).

ARCHWING ISSUES:

- Using Archwing to speed up this whole process is actually horrendous as the stupid facehuggers spawn far too often and are constantly knocking you out of archwing.

- The Cranis/Jugulus enemies that can lob goop at you actually fire homing-goop that will follow you no matter how many times you blink away.

Can probably think of other issues, but that's it for now.

Might as well post this here... for the second day, I havent been able to locate a single animal using echo-lures in HOD. Not sure if its a bug.

Am I missing something, or am I wasting my time on a bug? If this thing is too tedious ima fall back till something gets done about it, I dont have that kind of time to waste.

I just equip the tranq rifle and try to find stuff roaming. As for lures, they work on PC, but I cannot say for PS4 😕

Hey, thank you for the help! I do search the surrounding area with the tranq. I believe when the tranq beeps, the animal can be within 200m? Just cant seem to spot them...

Ill try your advice, much appreciated help! I just hope its not a bug.

Yeah I put that in my OP. The rifle beeps before they glow, you have to look and move around a bit before they show up.

Update: This is def different from the other open worlds. I was able to catch all animals I tried to catch since my post. I was used to them coming to me, thats not the case a lot of the time in HOD, especially with the "Avichaea", that bird just hangs out in the sky pretty far away, usually above some type of surface like a branch. But it wont move, you just gotta go out there and find it like with some of the rest.

I spam-aimed the tranq all over the place while walking around and was able to spot the animals eventually.

Theres an issue with locations by cliffs and cave entrances, I cant seem to find those locations.

I appreciate the input, thank you!

The Avichaea will often be a tiny glowing, orange speck against a background of stuff that glows orange. *facepalm* Also if you shoot one above the cranium it will sometimes fall inside the terrain meaning: end mission and please try again. This is in addition to them sometimes spawning inside the cranium as well. They wouldn't be nearly as bad if there was an additional spawn point for them.

I've only found 3 so far in the wild, they just do not spawn for me.

At least you've seen Medjays.

Eight or more hours of conservation. Past two being exclusively dedeicated to doing Predasites exclusively. Can't rank up because of this rng garbage fest.

I have over 100 Vizier tags, 40 Pharaoh tags and...4 Medjay tags and I was lucky I managed to capture one to get it as a pet.

As for the Vulpas, I own 200 Sly tags and then... that's it.

Can we talk about how screwed-up the animal tracks are? They'll often double back on themselves and shoot off in random directions. They'll also often just stop and continue on a surface either directly above or directly below where you're standing, with no indication that a change has happened. I spent 20 minutes tracking an animal only to realise it had "jumped" up to a mushroom above me. And that's when the tracks don't go on the sides of cliffs or clip into the sides of cliffs for 20 meters or so.

Also, why does scat no longer respawn? You load into a zone, you have a few pieces you can track and that's it. Once you've tracked them, you have to go back to the Necralisk and reload the zone. What was wrong with procedurally generating them? I swear, Conservation on Deimos is actively worse than anywhere else.

If you equip the echo lure for them, you will see their spawn point. Finding them while just flying around is serious RNGesus.

Some animal types depend on the time of day. For example Pharaohs are day and Medjays are night.

Probably best to bring a shotgun or fast fire weapon for the flying tenticles while homing attacks can easily be outrun.

I'm finding the best way to do it is to forget about the minigame. Just jump in an archwing and fly along the edge of the map looking for animals (can be in groups of 1,2 or 3) as you go. Once you find an animal dart it from range (small animals take 1 while big take 2) and it should be a perfect capture. A 20 minute run I did earlier netted me a bunch of captures including 5 Medjays.

Dude I feel that, after farming for 4 hours I hate myself. I run off a 2012 laptop so my game runs like ass. My problem being there are like 4 areas for the Predasites and for me half of them don't work. And when I go to reload the map due to my potato setup it takes forever.

They can be a bit ridiculous to spot. This one was inside a surface, and was not moving. Couldn't get it.
