(XBOX)Avant Solace
So this is an issue that was fairly minor in Orba Vallis and the Plains, but has become rather troublesome on Deimos. When using the Tranq Rifle, one can tell if a target is in proximity via a pinging sound when aiming down sights. Unfortunately it lacks any way of telling you where it is in the area unless you manage to get the target directly on screen. And should you fail to notice the flash (either because the target was too small or whatever), you'll most likely end up running around like a Vey Hek mech with its pilot missing... Basically the tranq rifle needs some sort of "hot-cold" system that'll let you know what general direction to look for a given target. This would be especially useful on portions of Deimos where the target/glow blend into the terrain.

Yeah the archewathsitsface are crap. And the pinging sound should really either be louder or faster when you're facing the right direction, and since they did it, they could add a reticle on the targets, like they did for mining. Because there's a lot of glowy things on Deimos, and all the tall grass, while it looks awesome, is kind of in the way. That and the fact that tokens are kinda expensive, are making conservation more of a chore than it should be. And this is coming from someone that actually likes doing conservation. I haven't had one spawn yet and haven't hunted them the "proper" way either. But if they're anything like the Sawgaws on the Vallis that DE refuses to admit there's even an issue with, then they're just not going to be catchable without luck. I've snuck up next to a Sawgaw with Ivara and put 6 rounds into it at point blank range, had it fly away and put 3 more rounds right through it in archwing. It flew off like nothing. The hit boxes are awful on several of the Vallis animals and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here too. I hate conservation too much to even attempt one of the Drift birds. If I have to do it and it's bugged like the other birds I'm probably just going to quit.
Kaggelos
Conservation can be fun, in moderation. Also yes, we need a better "lock on" ui for our tranq rifle
Chaincat
I think it should be an upgraded tranq rifle that you'd have to buy seperately. Or maybe just buy it as an upgrade like with the sunpoint drill. Every other side activity has a progression system like that, and something as simple as a hot and cold beep or an arrow pointing toward the creature would be an easy way to make a progression system for conservation. Vasala
Yes, please do something to make it easier to see the conservation animals. The size plus color of the glow make it very hard to find what the gun is pinging as it currently stands on Deimos.
