Isolation Vaults/Necramechs are the least fun grind added to the game yet.

2x3% chance drops from enemies, which have a large chance to fall straight through the floor.

Long, boring stages of "wait for the bait, wait for the toxin timer, wait for the slow AF robot to crawl around the vault."

3 repetitions for a single chance at a weapon part.

Wasting 30 minutes of your life just to get a goddamn relic.

An arbitrary time window that seems to have no bearing on the mission except for preventing you from continuing when you've got a good squad.

Luckily you didn't forget to disable 3 of the 4 loot abilities so this couldn't be rewarding in the slightest!

Don't forget to add that the Necramech mods have a measly 10% drop rate from the Necramechs, with the rarest mod having a 2% drop rate AFTER the 10%. I didn't even know the Necramech dropped their mods, since I have yet to see a single one personally.

I feel they want us to grind this mission and ONLY this mission for months.

"Grind this mission"

By that you mean sit and watch a 10 minute timer 3 times.

I personally don't mind the vaults, I just don't like the pointless time wasters.

-The getting bait is just a generic fetch quest from rpgs... and they made it apply to all 3 instead of the 1st one. You also have to wait for the pointless same dialogue each time..

-The issue with the defense part is, even after the "increased" spawns, there's still little to no enemies, and they increased the time to defend, so you just stand around for 90 seconds 3 times.

-The toxin part also could use more spawns, and it does feel too long and should be shortened a little

-The opening the vault is honestly the most annoying part, and that's only because it's an extreme time waste, you spend more time waiting for him to get to each point, and then back, than you do actually defending him. This part makes it seem like no one at DE actually did vaults, because who in the right mind thinks spending such an absurd amount of the time you spend doing all 3 on watching some tiny robot move slower than my grand mother.

Although, lack of spawns in general seems to be an issue accross Deimos. Even when I went to do the bounties on SP, there were hardly any enemies. Most of the bounties amount to also standing around waiting for enemies to appear. It's stupid when you spend up to 30 minutes playing "content" when 20 of that is just waiting.

I also thought it was a well established point of game design for th last few decades that NOBODY ENJOYS ESCORT MISSIONS.

The problems with the vaults (and most of the game modes really) is that you don't get rewarded for excelling.
These are the steps you need to take to complete a vault

Get 6/12 baits
Activate the bait machine
Timed Defence for 2minutes (or is it 3? I forget)
Open Door
Survival for 3 minutes
Travel to Vault
Defeat Boss
Escort Quest
Puzzle Lock
Loot and get out.

Now the big time consumers here are the time limited steps:
Timed Defence
Survival
Escort
No matter how good you are at the game. You cannot speed these steps up and they are the biggest time wasters.
You can't do some optional hacking to make the timers go down faster in Timed Defence, or pick up drops from killed enemies
You can't speed survival up by hacking, or getting drops or do sick emote dances.
You can't kick the Escort to get him to move faster, or pick him up.
All you can do is wait. Therefore Inaros Prime 16k health and sleep. Which is boring, but that is the kind of gameplay the vault fosters.
You can be too good at Warframe and your cleverness gets punished.

I like the vaults as gameplay, it's not too bad - owing to the map being very small and you don't have to fly around and do boring stuff like Fortuna or PoE constantly on your flying machine;

Necromech though is a pita to fight...

maybe I just haven't burnt out on them yet, But I'm fine with Iso-Vaults. I do think the issues are valid though:

- the Bait and Defense parts.. easy and enemies never seem to spawn, so it can get boring (but hey, free phase completion, not gonna argue)

- the toxin part, solo I've not had any spawn issues, always something to kill, but in squads, the spawns are really slow and that makes it take a while.

- the Necramech fight I actually quite enjoy, but hearing that any parts he drops can fall through the floor... that's disheartening to say the least. also, Scintillant.. just.. goddamn Scintillant.

- escorting Loid/Otak is my least favourite part. he really is too slow, and I don't get why it needs to be him that powers stuff when we possess WAY mroe Void Energy than he does. he takes like 10 seconds to do what our Amps can do in an instant, and it would also remind people they need to use amps for the door puzzle (not everyone knows this still).

either increasing spawns to make it more lively or reducing the timers solves the Bait Defense and Toxin problems; increasing the speed at which Loid/Otak activates the thingies (or better yet, letting us do it) would solve that problem too: additionally:

- guarantee at least one Scintillant, so it's not a waste of time for people needing it.

- maybe increase mod and damaged part drops on necramechs slightly. and obviously stop them falling through the floor.

I could be mistaken, but the level didn't go up this last time I went for a Rotation C reward from vaults.

(Do Isolation Vault Bounty, should be difficulty level 3. Then pick same bounty up from field, should be 4. Pick up a third time, should be 5.)

Without a level 5 Isolation Vault mission, the likelihood of the rarest drops is significantly lower if I'm not mistaken. Plus the extra Necramech to fight with each level is not present, therefore can't be killed to drop anything. Double-whammy.

Then comes the puzzles. (Isolation vault has 3 rewards, complete as directed for first, complete escort for the actual vault as second, and the 3rd is a puzzle varying with vault.)

One gives you a portal with a pilot-able mech inside. (It has to die to drop it's part though.) Another appears to give statues to destroy for extra resources. Potentially other puzzles/layers that are not yet known.

This is the real problem people should be talking about. The problem is that they havent done the "easy" vault grind yet, and are having trouble with that. That's right the damaged necramech parts are far and away the easiest part of this grind by a factor of about 100x.

What you mean is they didn't do the cheesy Nekros grind day 1 of the open world so they get stuck doing it the long boring way.

No what I mean is the damaged parts are easy to farm compared to the necramech mods. Which is exactly what i said.
