Is there even a point to make a Necramech?

So aside from the damaged voidrig part drop rates being practically non-existent currently, I have been wondering, is there even a point to making the Necramech at all, from what I have heard, we can only use it on the open world and no where else, and given how much of a time/standing commitment it is to get this I can't imagine this will ever be mandatory content for any future update at all, it just begs the question of why DE committed so much development resources into this and not something else that would be ubiquitously used. Any thoughts from others?

Necramechs aren't a strict power upgrade to warframes. And I think that's okey. Their only fault, in my opinion is that they can't wield Arch Melee weapons. They can fire Archguns without staggering, like the Velocitus, so they have that going for them. And also the 4 is absolute bonkers damage but I think it's because it's bugging out and benefiting from archgun mods twice.

Likely getting us used to mech play as we will possibly be frameless in Duviri.

Could be made useful in some restricted areas in railjack.

Simply, they can make it required. Also easier for them to make a 'hard' boss be effected by a strict set of ~4 powers, than make a fight challenging against 160.

Better than just making it immune to everything. Less satisfying than using your favorite meta kit you sunk time in.

But if there are minions to wipe, like the profit taker. You still get some of your cake.

I'd say Necramechs are like what Archwings were, when they were first released. Waaaaaay back before PoE ever existed.
"man what is the point of archwings, they're just a content island"
I'm calling it now. In 3 years time, Necramechs will be able to fly with Modular Archwings and wielding Arch Melee. And in a squad of 4, can combine into a larger mech so you can wrestle Eidolons.

I feel they are a great addition to the arsenal. They can delete low to mid level mob in no time and while you can do that with any frame, it's just a different way to do it and it also utilizes the archguns much much better. They can be a good dps+survivability boost in certain situations and seeing how this system is in its infancy, i'm sure DE will expand the system further to be viable in high lvl content. I also enjoy their weight - a nice break of pace from all the bullet jumping. Seeing they come with 12 mod slots and there seems to be intention to improve the system, I'd say they could get crazy good for certain content. Do wish you could use them in closed maps tho.

A semi-mobile weapons platform that looks and works like a leaner w40k dreadnaught is a whole lot of fun for me.

Amusement? Remember when you did things for fun.

This is true only if there is fun involved.
And in a game about theory craft, you generally find fun through interesting mechanics that put dilemma in your way of playing. So, unless there is content that specifically require the mech and introduce it as an interesting part of the gameplay, I'm a fraid it will just lay around as a Warframe downgrade that people only use to give themselves challenge.

Whats the point in making more frames when excal is good enough for killing? Why make any weapons when Kronen does the job? Answer is the same. For fun, to have something to work towards, something new to collect. Thats the entire point of this game if you didnt notice, collecting things.

Just another added game mechanic for some future potential boss fight that will only be kill able with said necramech. Just DE being DE stacking up multiple methods of killing but only effective for the enemy type you are attacking at that moment. Archwing, Operator, Warframe, Necramech, Railjack. Just separate wrenches for the same function, but all the bolts have different shapes and the wrenches correspond with the shape. DE adding a new mode to add more play time/"life" to the game....potentially.

No, not really. It's hard to remember any joy in my life before this year.

Ain't that the honest truth.

2020 can just go away if you ask me. I haven't hung out outside of my house or been to a restaurant/movie theater since December lol
