Cpl_Facehugger
That sounds like a new bug. When I was hunting for "common" deimos birds last night, switching the lure type to birds showed only bird PoIs, exactly like the system works on both the Vallis and Plains. As for tips capturing the birds... Usually there's always one bird PoI over on the edge of the map by the brain. The call point will usually be in the brain cave or near it, and when you call the bird, it will usually come from above and land on top of the cave, so best bet is to get your archwing out, fly up, and look around. Be careful, the bird tends to get stuck in the terrain a lot.
_Anise_
well I got my method, the capture points for the animal types are always the same ones. find one point that works for the type of spicies capture one, go back in go back out to the same point capture it again. also I don't know if this helps but I purposely messed up the call and got the "common" one each time

In and out of the gate until that same point one appears, might sound slower but it works everytime, compared to stuffing around going to a point I know fails it's a waste of my time. The spots are only filtered if you have the lure in your hand. If you have the tranq gun all spots show regardless of the lure selected.
